Rafinesquina Fossil Name
Today I learned there's a CURSED BRACHIOPOD, named after a CURSED PROFESSOR.
Cursed brachiopod (Genus Rafinesquina) is nicknamed so because certain other brachiopods (lingulids) often died in mass deaths from being buried and trapped under the (bigger) shell of a Rafinesquina.
Cursed professor (Professor Constantine Rafinesquina) was an evolutionist before Darwin and got fired from his university but then after he got fired apparently there were a bunch of fires and deaths at the school so people say he cursed it.
