I like to imagine Nesta celebrating her birthday with those she feels overwhelmed with happiness to be with. And as they are the first to completely accept the way she is, I love imagining that Gwyneth and Emerie, the chosen family, would also be celebrating with Nesta, first thing in the morning.

a little rant but everytime I see any pro nesta type of post and the comments are like “well it wasn’t explained why she did that!! she had no reason to do that other than being a bitch” I feel like screaming

because it is. literally every feeling and action that nesta has done since book one is explained by her trauma — either her trauma before or after the cauldron. she is angry and hurt and she uses mean and cruel words as a defense mechanism. she is deeply traumatized and she is surrounded by triggers that the people who claim to care about her never notice.

and people still don’t understand her…at this point you are just dumb and natural selection will come for you

“Is that not what you wanted? To feel nothing?”

“I thought that was what I wanted. […] But no longer. […] I want to feel everything. I want to embrace it with my Whole heart.”

“Even the things that hurt and hunt you?” Only curiosity laced the question.

Nesta allowed herself a breath to ponder it, stilling her mind once more. “We need those things in order to appreciate the good. Some days might be more difficult than others, but… I want to experience all of it, live through all of it. With them.”

Although Nesta transforms in more than one way, her embracing life in its entirety, with its ups and downs, as opposed to not caring about her own death as long as she no longer felt anything, will always be my favorite transformation.

To represent this, I asked Pablo to illustrate Nesta in two moments: the trauma of being submerged in the cauldron manifesting itself during the bath and her swimming serenely. Pablo even suggested that we use John Everett Millais’ Ophelia as a reference, because of the colors, but the idea that Nesta, as opposed to Ophelia, ends up alive because she chose to live, warms my heart and I’m very happy to finally share this illustration.

I think that the Slytherin Skittles actually pulled a lot of pranks when they were at Hogwarts, like as much as the marauders, but no one knows because they just were way more sneaky (And Regulus may or may not have pointed fingers at his brother) so the marauders just had double the dententions.

"But Nesta was mean!" Good for her. I think she should've been meaner actually. If you're 500+ years old and you can't handle a 20 or so year-old formerly human woman snapping back at you then you're just a loser.
