Chitradurga fort being one of the finest forts build in Karnataka is the best example for it's Architectural symmetry and intricate in laid patterns in stones. It took 200 years to build the 7 layered fort.
When Hyder Ali first saw this fort, he thought that the people here are might be poor and weak and one can attack on the fort and destroy the fort easily, since it looks like built up of mud.
But never did he know, mud walls were built mixed along with egg, sand, jaggery, limestone, millet grass, paddy Thoma, paddy grass, wooden dent, gooseberry, pieces of broken pot, finger millet ragi etc tanned for a month and annealed.. which made the wall very strong and also has power to control the heat..
Because of the misjudging the fort being weak, Hyder Ali did attacked fort twice which made him loose thus he had to choose a wrong and sensitive way to enter the fort where they faced Obavva and that's the whole different story..
So here it's a perfect example for the saying
" Don't judge a book by its cover"
Isn't it?
