He couldn’t believe just how much his life had changed since his big Brother had picked him to be his little Brother at the rush party.
The way he felt the first time his big Brother just took charge and guided him through the chaos that was freshmen year. The way the man became a touchstone in his life on and off campus.
That first weekends in the county, football games among the autumn leaves followed by whiskey and cigars under a star filled sky with his Brothers.
Knowing that he belonged. That he was among guys he knew he could count on and who would count on him. Guys that would always be there.
What’s a little bit of individuality against all that?
Looking at the photo his Marines had sent him the Owner of the three men smiled as he remembered the slow careful path that had led to it.
Those first days when he met the central Marine with an interest in music and hypnosis who soon found himself deeply entranced by his own special song. And once the Owner had full control over him, well taking control of his roommate who was sitting behind him was only natural. He wanted to know where his roommates new focus and discipline had come from.
He found out during a long talk with the Owner one evening and with it his own focus and discipline in the gym and field, and submission to the Owner’s first Marine, being first does have its rewards after all.
Then came the devil dog. Unconnected to the others at first the Owner found him at a bar more than a little drunk just wanting to be carefree and have a good time he was clearly in need of a strong and firm hand to keep him out of trouble.
Like the hand he made sure his other two Marines would provide while still being the puppy looking to have fun.
They made a wonderful family and the man couldn’t be prouder of them and he looked forward to their next leave.
Ready to take on any order because the Marine might be tired, his muscles might be sore and his feet hurt but when the Sgt orders another five-mile ruck he knows he can-he will-do it.
The Marine was just stunned when he was handed his orders telling him to report to the Unit. He knew the Sgt had watched his squad a few times, had spoken to their Sgt but he’d never thought it was for him. That the CO and the Sgt would want him for the Unit.
He’d never felt so proud and he knew he would do anything to prove worthy of the honor.
It was the first time he’d ever had to report in to his Owner and he wasn’t quite sure how to do it but he wanted to make a good impression so he squared his shoulders, puffed up his chest and looked right at the mirror.
Puffing on the cigar as he watched his big Brother and his husband taking their first dance together he though about how much his life had changed over the last few years under his big Brother’s guiding hand shaping and molding him.
But that phase of his life was over now.
It was time to stand tall and make his big Brother proud.
He felt so amazing to be given the beret. To know that the Sgt and CO were not only willing to claim him but wanted to claim him. Wanted to make him part of the Unit. Wanted to give him a place where he belonged.
He couldn’t say when it happened but at some point during his training and stopped seeing himself as a single person but as part of a team, a Unit. Valuable and important for his skill, strength and leadership he offered but no longer a man along.
Part of something bigger than himself. Bigger than any of them.
They were the Sgt’s Unit and for him would do anything.
The Biker didn’t know why he kept coming to the old train yard. He never used to but after that weird night at the bar last month he’d found himself suiting up and riding out to it almost every other day.
And he couldn’t even remember just what it was he was doing once he got there. He just pulled his helmet off and…
