Doc doesn’t think much of it at first. Wels is leading the way through some random build and Doc just follows..until BAM!

Doc staggers back, rubbing his forehead “What the!?-"

Wels, totally innocent, definitely not smirking, looks back at Doc “Oh, yeah! Forgot to mention, low doorway"

Doc squints at him “You forgot, huh?”

“Yeah, totally..” Wels says, stepping through another doorway, just a little too low for Doc.

Doc ducks this time, muttering "you're so lucky I love you"

He's also not oblivious to the fact next time he goes through the build, Wels has put up a sign reading, "DANGER: for tall people". Maybe their personalities complement each other a little too well.

welsdoc for the theme?

Wels isn't a short guy. This apparently is something he needs to remind people of; just because he decided to date a behemoth does not mean he's short. Doc is just very, very tall. Adjust the height of roofs and we need a bigger bed tall. That doesn't mean Wels is short!

Yet the latest gift (this time from Beef) was a step stool. Wels is going to kill his friends.

when Wels went into his deep sleep(??) phase, Doc felt off, like, really off. His partner wouldn't be waking up anytime soon and it hit him harder than he expected. He knows Wels isn’t dead, but in the silence, it felt like he might as well be. Doc tried to cope by doing small things around Wels base, like vaguely decorating or leaving little signs, even adding a few traps to spook Wels when he woke up.

But none of them ever got triggered. It was his way of holding onto something, even if Wels didn’t know it. When Wels eventually did wake up in the new season, everything seemed fine, and Doc kept quiet about the weird, desperate feelings he’d been holding onto. No need to drag Wels into that. Not now.

It's... Embarrassing when Wels finally brings it up. He should have expected it, because Wels would know he added all those things but Doc thought he'd gotten away with this awkward ignorance!

And now Wels is asking with those earnest blue eyes, and Doc breaks in a moment. He's not a super emotional guy, so it feels like a tidal wave coming out of him with just how much he missed Wels. He was grieving Wels' absence without realising.

Wels gets a little emotional too. He presses his head up against Doc's, hand against his cheek. Simply providing a space for Doc to let it all out. Whilst it's nice to be missed, he hates the thought of the pain he caused by doing so...

wels and doc decided to combine their bases as a joke

they throw random blocks together, laugh about how it’ll be a disaster, and just kinda… forget to stop. The next thing they know, it’s actually looking pretty good, like.. not just good, it’s pretty nice

they pretend it’s no big deal, casually claiming, “oh? it’s just a little side project!” but lowkey it starts feeling more like their main bases than their original ones

It's the place they always end up coming to at the end of the day. This weird, messy in-between that they're starting to become more fond of than their actual bases.

After all, a proper base is a responsibility. This... This is more like a home.

It felt like fate to find out Doc opened a store specifically for armour trims! Cuts out the need to do all the work himself.

But it does risk running into Doc... Who will ask him about the colour choice... And Wels is a terrible liar when it comes to him.

He can just keep doing the decorations on his own for now.

exams are tomorrow and yet the only thing I'm thinking is about welsdoc

The other kingdoms know better than to challenge Doc (a king) directly, so they go after his fiancée, Welsknight, which is obviously a bad move. Doc’s reaction? Not the kind of response they were hoping for. Now they’ve got a much bigger problem on their hands.

What's even worse is that it's not like Wels actually got hurt or anything - he kicked their asses. He even seemed to enjoy the opportunity for a fight! They've really misjudged this whole thing...

Wels is a knight with pride as strong as his armour, but sometimes his ego gets the best of him, and he ends up breaking his sword during a particularly flashy battle move. The good news? He knows exactly who to call! Down by the lane is Doc, a craftsman with a knack for fixing things ((and making them better)

Wels will show up at Doc’s door, sword in hand, ready for a repair, and Doc’s always more than happy to help, but only after a round of good-natured banter

“How many times has this been now, Wels?” Doc teased, running a hand over the broken blade. "One day, I’ll just build you a sword that’s invincible... or maybe just a bit less dramatic.”

Wels just smirks, “I’d rather it be dramatic than dull, Doc”

Doc will usually respond something like, "Rather in one piece than dramatic." Which Wels half agrees with. He likes showing off, what can he say?

And it seems to work for Doc, so...

They all knew the two were a thing - they were terrible at hiding it. But nobody knew they were 'about to get married' level of thing!

Neither did Doc or Wels, actually. They just wanted a celebration, so they decided to get married now. What better excuse for a party?
