Lucien being the only character to credit Elain personally for her assist with the King of Hybern. Lucien keeping his distance, despite how much it pains him to do so, in order to allow Elain that comfort. Lucien longing for Elain, for the bond to be accepted. Lucien offering Elain two perfect Solstice gifts, one that he learned of as a side thought and remembered months later.
