if tommy was the best relationship he's had he wouldn't have dumped buck. if tommy 'explicitly didn't see buck that way' he wouldn't have made him feel like he did. if he cared about him at all he wouldn't have hurt him like he did. buck deserves better

i find it interesting how whenever buck mentions the breakup (8x07, 8x08, and now 8x10) he specifically says that tommy "dumped" him. he didn't just break up with him, or leave him, he dumped him. it's so emotive, it sounds kind of dramatic and over the top to keep saying it this way, but buck's not just upset, he doesn't even feel abandoned, he feels worthless, or at least that tommy saw him that way. this goes deeper than just his usual abandonment issues because tommy explicitly does Not see him that way, and after a few months he probably has enough self worth not to see himself that way, this is just what he has to tell himself to deal with losing the best relationship he's had so abruptly.

okay except thats actually not what tommy said. tommy said "i'm your first, not your last" he said we won't end up together no matter how much i wish we could because thats usually not how these things go, you're first and last can't be the same thing. if they had had tommy explain that he doesn't think buck has fully figured himself out yet so jumping into a committed relationship might stunt that self-discovery, that would have been a very different story and i would have felt very differently about it. why does tim think he can just say anything and it be true? genuinely does he forget he writes the show?

we did not lose representation because buck is still bisexual even if he's not currently dating a man. but not crediting buck's sexuality to tommy is something y'all have always struggled to do, so... checks out

at the end of the day we lost another canon queer ship and that really fucking sucks especially after election day so i think its okay to be upset at a silly little procedural drama and its okay to cry over the representation that we lost
