Appreciative of the fact that we're all in agreement that SoGC Marvus was an era of some harsh awakening.

A fic where MSPAR ends up too far back on the timeline and runs into him there would actually be pretty compelling. Dealing with a Marvus that's at once more cynical and a touch more naive than the version you encounter in Friendsim and trying to break into that trust through sheer alien tenacity while also seeing a darker side to his origin.

I’ve also been thinking a lot lately about Marvus:Tegiri:Lanque where Marvus and Lanque are like. Less being auspiticized by Tegiri and more mutually trying to get this stupid otaku to just make out with them already and admit that they’re better than his stupid waifu, all the while Tegiri is perfectly convinced he’s Managing Them.

Like neither of them can handle being placed second to an anime character. They’ve never had to work hard for a pull in their life and now Marvus keeps opening some online cosplay resources and SERIOUSLY THINKING and he hates it every time.  Lanque goes for the standard nibble on the neck only to be pushed off by the guy who’s most frequent form of physical contact is his body pillows. “ I understand that ashen can be a confusing quadrant, Bombyx, but I’m spoken for and /oya/ only to my bride. I’// thank you to keep your fi/thy hands to yourse/f.” 

They spiral. Tegiri is oblivious. Tagora is about to rip his hair out asking how he did it.

I don’t have much of a brain for coherent content right now, so let me preface this with the thought that I just think this ship is funny from all angles. Each and every single one of these boys thinks they’re auspitizing for the other.

Lanque (and, to some extent, Marvus) see a single, sweaty, grimy boy and just doesn’t understand it. He’s hot?? Damn bitch he lives like this?? And then Lanque sees Marvus and his internal “I live for the drama.... I live for the fame” attraction meter is going off the hook. For Lanque in black romance, his attraction towards people is honestly kind of fussy. He likes his partner to be intimidating and mysterious; both of these boys have potential for that but they’re lacking Lanque’s.... bite ,’:^]? Lanque sees Marvus and Mallek’s similarities and feels an instinctual need to meddle. It’s not that they’re fighting but... they could be if Lanque has anything to say about it ;) lol

Mallek sees these two dudes who clearly think they know how to have fun (but not-so-secretly are incapable of truly relaxing and letting things happen) and thinks “wack;” and just has to intervene. He’s kind of curious to see if he can make them chill. It’s a fun personal challenge to see if he’s got it in him; a lot of his black romance attraction has to do with people rising to his challenges and people who can challenge him in new and unique ways.

Marvus sees a set up and knows the punchline. It just Works(tm). But honestly, he loves feeling adored and pricked at in equal measures by Lanque, and he kind of likes the zen vibe that Mallek picks out. It’s funny to Marvus to slum around with Mallek and watch Lanque fuss and meddle and wheedle the two of them (and even funnier that Marvus is the one getting all conciliatory up in here). It’s funny to Marvus to get all dressed up with Lanque and try to do the equivalent with Mallek (who is sulking and limp like a wet cat the entire time).

Idk I just think they’d have a really fun dynamic! I might elaborate more on the actual romantic sides to this later, but this was my initial thought for them.
