Peter is on top of the world, and yet he is so lonely. He spends his days floating between minimum wage jobs, keeping none long enough to truly fit in, and swinging through the streets fighting crime. The only people he talks to are bottom of the barrel: stuck in a perpetual loop of fry grease and bad decisions.

Sometimes, Peter starts to wonder if becoming Spiderman was a bad decision. He doesn’t think that he can live like this for the rest of his life. So, crammed up against the stall of a public bathroom in New York City, he writes seven little digits on the door, and tags them with “call me.”

When he gets home that night, he regrets it. Thank god he wrote the number of his burner phone. That one doesn’t really matter. He can toss the phone and buy a new one tomorrow if he skips a couple of meals.

Just when it can’t get any worse, his soulmate dies. Again. He is afraid that tomorrow morning he will search the Mark Match registry and find their mark released to the public. He dreads the day, but he knows that someone who walks the line between life and death so often surely must be suffering. Why can’t they both be, if not happy, at peace?

When Wade stumbles into the public restroom after getting shot in the back of the head in the alley next door, he is not feeling great, to say the least. After his windpipe finally sews itself back together and he pukes up the rotting remainder of the contents of his stomach, he notices a number scrawled on the door of the bathroom stall. He’s already miserable. Why not fuck with someone else?

was scrolling my collection of dnf clips on my laptop and The thing that does not get talked about enough that gets so lost in the ancient texts is the fact that there was such a distinct shift in how dream acted about george between 2021 and 2022. it can clearly be seen just in the am i in love with my best friend quizzes where in the first one even his Voice is different in how he talks to george. by the second one a year later he's clearly so soft around the edges about george in a way that feels so intimate you as the viewer feel like you should Not be there and witnessing whatever these 2 guys had going on amidst all their yearning and waiting to even meet irl for the first time without having any idea when that would even happen. it is a now-underappreciated early moment in time that i don't think a lot of people still here even remember much or even know happened because they might not have been here. like there is just so much herstory to dnf that gets lost in the sauce... they are weird about each other and they clearly got more earnest and closer emotionally as the visa became more of a weight on their shoulders. and then the beauty of it all is at the end of the tunnel their waiting finally ended and now they've been together irl longer than they were ever apart actively waiting for the visa. and it has allowed them even More intimacy and earnestness and closeness than they were ever capable of having from a distance, or ever expected to get at the lowest points of it all. beautiful story with a happy ending. everybody forgets the horrors of it all it took to get here and how the horrors of it all deeply shaped and altered their relationship in ways that allowed for the emotional intimacy they openly put on display even if it's unintentional.
