Sweet Spot for a Picnic
Lîren ears are highly sensitive, and can invoke a lot of emotions :)
Will they ever realise? Tune in next week when they still probably won't.

Oh no I was trying to give you the opportunity to lore drop on whatever you wanted to talk about I wasn’t expecting options!!!! Uhhhhhi don’t know species perhaps?? Or whatever else you want to talk about! Yippee love your art <3
ohohoh you’re letting me loose okay
The Fissure
It appeared about 50 years ago, slicing the peninsula in two with a mighty force.
Inhabitants of Iro know no other gods but the Under. They do not worship them, they just acknowledge that when their time comes, they will meet them. Every soul is made of Threads, borrowed and woven by these gods, and is to be returned when they pass on. Those whose thread is damaged upon their meeting will be tossed away, and not reused.
When the fissure appeared, it swallowed half of Maira, and those who have looked in say they can see the stark white hands of the Under beckoning them to jump. It was around this time that reports of Undermagic being wielded by mortals started emerging. Those who dared use it seemed to drive themselves mad. It is unknown what the limits of this magic are, why the Gods have unleashed it, and is considered highly taboo. It seems to give the wielder control over living being’s threads, being able to puppet them in some reports.

I'm not previous anon but I'd love to learn about the various species and their cultures!
Everyone one is welcome, I have so much I wanna share haha
The Iro Peninsula is home to Human, Lîren, and Minotaur settlements, each with their own customs and languages
Lîren are considered to be the oldest species to settle here, however there is evidence to suggest that Minotaur arrived at a similar time. Many scholars agree that Festri was founded by a Lîren woman, however depictions of her are inconclusive to whether she was human or lîren. Lîren are more likely to have strong magical qualities and a high mana count due to their adherence to various Lîren festivals and traditions tied to the cycle of the two moons. (They have so many festivals and ceremonies that’s a whole answer by itself lmao)
In Festri, whilst humans outnumber Minotaur and Lîren, the gap has been closing in recent times. Communities featuring both Minotaur and Lîren have been growing, due to the two of them having similar communal habits and norms.
The oldest Minotaur settlement close to Iro is in the south, Du Grra. Minotaur presence in Iro has since grown with settlements such as Hgcha, a large Minotaur presence in Maira, and multiple small towns south of the Fissure.
The spoken common tongue in Iro is Ertigo, used for trade and used in Festri and adjacent towns. Despite the prevalent use of Ertigo, the language of Lîren has not suffered a decline in usage as the Lîren people have continued speaking it even in the major cities. The Minotaur tongue is incredibly hard to learn for those lacking the proper mouths, although some have tried!
#Just scratching the surface here but it was getting long!#There’s also monsters and creatures but that’s another thing#Varanix#also anyone feel free to ask things!
