the most important part of making "chubby" the compliment it should be is unmaking its euphemistic character by divorcing it from the connotation of a weight limit. chubby is not a compliment because it means only kind of fat it is a compliment bc it's a cute way to refer to the plump and soft character someone's body and features take on when they're fat. take my hand. together we can stop letting every complimentary term for fat bodies turn into a backhanded "well at least you're not like FAT fat" word
