proof of existence: field exercise (2)
arc 3.1 | chapter 18 | 4.1k
“I want to hear your plan.” “Well…” Verica brushed a strand of hair back behind her ear as she thought. Then she heaved a sigh, stood up to face me, and fixed me with an intense stare. “Let me say something first,” she said. “I don’t like you.”
our main character goes on his first school field trip for his first school project to his very first fantasm world.

Note
Just read Proof of Existence, and I literally can't stop thinking about it. I love your writing and grasp on characters, and I'm Very Excited for tomorrow's update <3
Im pretty unfamiliar with webnovel spaces, and I was curious if you had some recommendations for some good transmigration type stories?
okay this has been sitting in my inbox long enough for me to stock up on recommendations that haven't already been mentioned in my asks tag
if you want to become more familiar with the magic academy + transmigration webnovel genre in general, these ones cover most of the classic tropes (though i won't vouch for quality):
the academy's deceased ate it all
the academy's weakest became a demon-limited hunter
the extra's academy survival guide
the demon prince goes to the academy
a wild man has entered the academy
there are also a lot of western fantasy + villain transmigration webnovels out there that don't take place in the academy, like trash of the count's family (foundational text of the genre and very popular)
anyways. transmigration covers a lot of genres so you can find it pretty much any webnovel genre you look at. but here are my actual recent transmigration recommendations
i became a ruined character in a dark fantasy: a modern man transmigrates as the protagonist of a dark fantasy open world video game that is plagued by monsters, evil cultists, and horrors from beyond the void. although the tide of history may be inevitable, he has no intention of waiting helplessly for the world to end. note: although only one translator is listed on novelupdates, it actually has 400+ translated chapters as of now
diary of a dead wizard: from the "what if there was an evil wizard tower?" webnovel genre.our main character transmigrates as a bottom-rung worker in a magic tower where human lives are as worthless as grass. in order to survive, he must climb up the rung of power, relying on both his wits and the mysterious prophetic diary that has attached itself to his soul.
gospel of blood: our main character transmigrates into a gothic fantasy as a young girl named charlotte, whose family intends to sacrifice her in a dark ritual for power. however, thanks to a mysterious power attached to her soul, she ends up as the final beneficiary of the ritual, embarking on a journey into the dangerous depths of the magic side of the world...
i am this murim's crazy bitch: a man wakes up in the murim world as the character he created in a video game -- a young woman born under the killing star. (side note: may be incomprehensible for someone unfamiliar with the murim world)
a regressor's tale of cultivation: technically this is isekai not transmigration but i'll list it anyways because it's good. an ordinary korean corporate worker, along with his coworkers, falls into a cultivation world. although he has little martial talent, through the accumulation of multiple lives, he progresses step by step in search of the reason why he was brought to this world and a way to go back home.
is it bad that the main character's a roleplayer?: a die-hard roleplayer starts a new VR game, dedicated to roleplaying his character concept -- a vengeful knight with a demon sealed in his body. by the time he realizes that this isn't just VR, but a true transmigration, his character setting has already been completely cemented. only he knows that his setting is completely fabricated by him! ... at least, that's what he thinks at first.
paladin of the dead god: main character transmigrates as the only follower of an eldritch god that is rejected as a corrupting, heretical force by the canonical gods of this dark fantasy world. if only things were as simple as lying low and living out a peaceful life...
the hero's coffin: the main character transmigrates into a necromancer scheduled for execution by the empire. however, the empire's hero, presumed dead, breaks him out of prison to use him for his own purposes in his fight against the dark forces of the continent. note: in addition to its western swords-and-magic adventure fantasy, this is also a BL.
cultivating in secret beside the demoness: the main character, transmigrating into a weak cultivator sold to a demonic cultivation sect, plans to remain low-key as long as he can while relying on his system to slowly gain strength. unfortunately, a chance encounter with a powerful woman throws all his plans into chaos. note: suitable for people already familiar with cultivation tropes and who are looking for slow stories to pass the time
if you'd like recommendations specific to a genre, feel free to send in another ask!
thank you very much for reading proof of existence, and i hope you enjoy the next arc.

proof of existence: field exercise (1)
arc 3.1 | chapter 17 | 3.6k
I didn’t know if it was post-exertion malaise or some other mysterious ailment, but soon after the duel, I got sick. My whole body felt sore and my joints ached. Light and noise hurt my head terribly, and I resented even the faintest footsteps going down the hall. Fever had me resting fitfully, drifting in and out of sleep. I dreamed I was burning up in fire. There was a crow watching me.
with the duel successfully concluded, our main character rests and prepares for his next challenge at nithemoore academy.

proof of existence: disinheritor's record (2)
arc 2 interlude | chapter 16 | 4.6k
Acacius closed the door behind him. He’d changed back into one of his usual clean suits, and he looked absolutely pristine — nothing to suggest that he’d ever been hurt. Or that he had inflicted that wound on himself. “I came to speak to the loser of the duel.”
In light of new information, Linden must reevaluate his relationship with his brother.

proof of existence: disinheritor's record (1)
arc 2 interlude | chapter 15 | 3.3k
Linden had been a talented child. He held the sword like he was born with it, and he took to aura as naturally as breathing. The day his father brought his new siblings into the manor, Linden reached the Projection realm. Acacius had looked at him like he was an enemy.
linden must win this duel, no matter what.

proof of existence: mundane troubles (6)
arc 2 | chapter 14 | 3.6k
“Linden, my brother?” I repeated, pitching my tone to be slightly disdainful. “What’s next, you’ll say Xander Morgan is my brother, too?” “Xander isn’t actually related to you, is he?” Zaire retorted, shaking me slightly. “Are you really going to fight Linden like that?” “What can I do? He’s the one who challenged me,” I said. “Stop standing in the doorway and come in.”
our main character makes plans to deal with the duel.

proof of existence: mundane troubles (5)
arc 2 | chapter 13 | 4.1k
Apparently, the proper etiquette for accepting the duel would have been to break a vessel of liquid as well, which was the challenged party’s way of saying that the challenger wasn’t the only person who had been wronged. Since I’d only finished my drink without throwing the cup, it was like I was saying to Linden, “Yeah, I wronged you. So what?” It probably was Acacius’ fault anyways.
our main character makes plans to deal with the duel.

proof of existence: mundane troubles (3)
arc 2 | chapter 11 | 3.7k
I almost couldn’t believe it, and yet, the evidence was right in front of my eyes. Acacius actually had a real friend. So as long as he treated me as one, I should treat him as one too.
a glimpse into acacius' social life before we kick off the action again.

proof of existence: mundane troubles (2)
arc 2 | chapter 10 | 3.3k
If I didn’t die by some other unfortunate means, wouldn’t all these theory-heavy classes kill me by the end of the year…? I could only hope that the exercise in Practical Combat class would help me clear my head.
our protagonist finally goes to school.
