what haunts your muse? is there any event in your muse’s past that they can’t move past?

About two centuries ago, his wife and child were murdered in front of him, to get to him. He's never been the same person since that or his death, and he isn't going to be. He was a pacifist who hated violence; he is a violent and barbaric man.

There's a reason he gives Ember so much space, so much leeway. Even when it isn't healthy for either of them. It's overcompensation. He would be too restrictive, too attached, so instead he isn't restrictive and hides his attachment.

It's not so much that he cannot move past it; he has been past it for 200 years. But it haunts him, it has shaped him, and that won't change.

Ah. I believe I understand that. I am pleasantly surprised that he has spoken of me, but I oughtn’t be; after all, we have met, and I am me. We haven’t spent much time together, and nearly none without outside influences, if any - I doubt the time at the duel really counts. Regardless, he seems a nice fellow, and the moirail I share with him speaks, of course, glowingly of him.
