A few facts about BPD (borderline personality disorder) Part 1
• People with BPD feel emotions stronger than anyone else. It is believed to be the worst psychological issue for emotions in history by psychiatrists. People with BPD may feel an intense depression instead of just sadness, extreme fury instead of just irritation or annoyance, panic instead of nervousness and shame and humiliation instead of just mild embarrassment. BPD is also known as EUPD (emotionally unstable personality disorder) for this reason.
• BPD cannot be completely cured. It can however, be very much improved with intense therapy, mainly DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy) and taking part in many therapeutic things to help you try and control your emotions and impulses better.
• More people in the world have BPD than schizophrenia and bipolar disorder combined.
• 75% of people with BPD are women.
• 10% of people with BPD attempt to commit suicide at least once in their life.
• 40 - 71% of BPD patients have been sexually abused.
• People with BPD tend to be much more vulnerable.

suicidal people deserve a space to talk about their suicidal feelings without risking hospitalization/institutionalization or being accused of being manipulative or attention seeking

I saw a sad facebook post from the gay bookstore back in Ann Arbor where I used to live about how they hadn’t sold any books that day so I went on their online store and bought a couple, and while you don’t get #deals like elsewhere online, I’d love it if y’all would consider buying your next gay book from them instead of like, Amazon.

there is no medical component to a trans kid transitioning
if a little trans boy comes out to his parents & is like 4 all youd do for his transition is cut his hair, buy a new wardrobe, & switch pronouns & possibly change names
no one is gonna put a little 4 year old on testosterone OR puberty blockers until theyre actually about to start puberty & then they give them a few years to really decide if they want to start hormones
a trans kid existing isnt “child abuse.” child abuse is refusing to let your kid live their lives as they truly are & forcing them to present as a gender they arent

god my neighbor just called me and she’s like… is this your chicken in our driveway… like who else has a chicken in this neighborhood yes it’s my chicken… so i get over there and kylo hen is chilling in their driveway eating some specs and stuff and there’s this actual crowd of people around her and i’m like… hi sorry mb let me get her… and oh my god… they’re like do you need us to call someone?? should we get help?? how should we do this?? do you need a net? like bitch it’s a chicken not a fucking komodo dragon. so i just… i was kind of joking around so i crouched down and patted my thighs and all the chickens are trained to come to me on sight because me = food… so i got down there and went “here girl!! come here!!” and the chicken comes running over and this group of actual adult ass individuals were staring at me like i was the fucking pied piper… and i didn’t know what to say…. so i just kind of walked back to my yard with the chicken following me and none of them moved or said a damn word and i think i literally just convinced them this chicken is trained like a dog…

the word ‘bisexuality’ is a taboo
it isn’t said on tv. orange is the new black, for example, features a bisexual protagonist who points out the biphobia at one point in assuming she can’t be attracted to multiple genders, but no one Ever says the word and she is ignored and referred to as a straight girl or a lesbian depending on the situation
other bisexual characters later turn out to have been Really Monosexual All Along. or are attractive, promiscuous women with commitment issues
this isn’t a coincidence.
people who are attracted to multiple genders, when asked about it, often describe themselves as “Fluid”. “I’d rather not label it.” “I don’t need to define it.” “It’s just whatever.” as if people are afraid of even implying the b word
this isn’t a coincidence.
the word ‘bisexual’ gets you different reactions in different places. straight people think you’re either faking for attention or a deviant. straight men are afraid of bi men and think bi women are just particularly promiscuous straight girls who want to have threesomes with them
gay men accuse bi men of being in the closet. lesbians accuse bi women of being straight girls going through a phase. and the ones who don’t do either of these things still often assume bisexuals are promiscuous, indecisive, and can’t settle down.
the theme throughout is that bisexually is illegitimate, deceptive, and always a front for something else.
this isn’t a coincidence
people are constantly encouraged to ‘settle down’, to ‘just pick one’, to ‘not be greedy’. abandon bisexuality. you’re really gay. you’re really straight. you’re too young. how can you know you’re bisexual at 16? 18? 20? 25?
this isn’t a coincidence
the word ‘bisexuality’ is constantly, persistently manipulated, by people who aren’t bisexual at all. the meaning twisted on shallow rationale. accused of being transphobic, or of being exclusionary. this has been happening for over 20 years now despite the existence of outspoken trans and/or non-binary bisexuals. whatever they can do to make you not say the word. pick a different one.
this isn’t a coincidence
bisexual people - whether implied or literally, deliberately saying they are bisexual using the word - are constantly rewritten as gay or as straight. gay icon. he was never interested in men. bi actor comes out? headlines say ‘came out as gay’, or articles outright ignore it
it’s never, ever a coincidence. bi erasure is a constant, ongoing thing.

As some of you may remember last year we wrote a petition that many of you signed asking @kayteepets to make hamster cages actually appropriately sized for hamsters. We were pleasantly surprised when they responded and even sent one of the directors of their company to The Pipsqueakery to hear our ideas.
They told us they would be making some changes but that it would take until March 2018 to get them on the market, and guess what? They did it with our input throughout the design process!
First, Kaytee made a hamster cage that has 540 square inches of continuous floor space with Âź inch bar spacing. AND, at our suggestion, they made the doors on the cage nice a big which should help eliminate the bite dangers of the one handed pick-up!
Then, they also made a 10 inch silent spinner (the same size as most bucket wheels) so that people can have an appropriate quiet option available at pet stores.
Finally, they made a new tube that addressed two of our concerns with the old ones. The old tubes were too small for many syrian hamsters to comfortably fit through and definitely too small to turn around in. These tubes have an expanded diameter to allow syrian to use them comfortably and safely but still have the same size opening so they will connect to older accessories as appropriate! Our second concern was that owners often get bit, or harm small animals trying to get them out of tubes. These new tubes have a door in them so owners can open them up to safely retrieve their pets.
I am so happy Kaytee listened to us and created these products with our suggestions! They won’t be available in the store for about 3 more weeks, but once they are I will be excited to support a company that is really listening to us! #thankyou #pets #pet #hamster #love #wedidit
