Spring Year 1 - Day 25

This morning a lot of my crops were ready to harvest, including the strawberries I got at the egg hunt. After watering the rest of my crops, I headed down to the mineral deposit and found a geode! When I got Clint to break it open, it had limestone inside. Gunther gave me a painting as a reward for donating it to the museum.

After that, I decided to do some fishing in the river in cindersnap forest, and I caught some sunfish and a chub. It was quite slow, so I decided to chop some trees instead until I ran out of energy.

When I emptied my inventory, I decided to check the bus stop and backwoods for forage, and found another hand in the exact same place???? I am very concerned. Why are there so many hands please help.

Good news! The problem with my laptop isn’t completely solved but I can at least use it now, so I should be able to post again tomorrow.

Spring Year 1 - Day 24

About half of my crops were ready to harvest today, including tulips, potatoes, spring seeds and rice. I had some spare parsnip seeds from the last time I bought them, but there wasn’t enough to replant all of them. After checking my mineral deposit, I headed to cindersnap forest for the flower dance.

When I got there, I had a look at Pierre’s stall and bought some seasonal plants and tubs of flowers, before going round and talking to everyone. I also asked Shane to dance with me and he said yes!

Once the dance was over, it was pretty late so I just went to bed, but this was my best day in Pelican Town yet.

Spring Year 1 - Day 23

This morning I got a letter telling me that the flower dance is tomorrow! That seems fun, but I’ll have to see if anyone wants to dance with me. I also had some more tulips to harvest (I bet you all can’t wait for summer so you never have to read that sentence again), and when I headed in to town to buy seeds I gave some to some of the people I saw around.

After replanting, I decided to do some fishing in the mountain lake and on the way I found a... hand??? That’s not concerning at all. Anyway, while I was fishing, I caught some largemouth bass, one of which I donated to the community center, and some smallmouth bass and carp.

I wasn’t sure whether to give the hand to the museum or the police, but I gave it to the museum anyway. Hope it wasn’t an important piece of evidence but oh well.

Spring Year 1 - Day 22

Today It was raining, so I didn’t have to water my crops. There were a few crops to harvest, and I had bought some extra seeds last time, so I replanted. I decided to take my geodes from yesterday’s mining trip to the blacksmith before I forgot about them, but I only ended up getting stone and a few bits of copper ore from them anyway.

After that, I headed to the beach to do some fishing, and I caught a lot of anchovies and sardines. I also found a treasure chest with an amphibian fossil in it (I wish it was that easy to get in my main save file but oh well, I’m not salty at all).

After donating it to the museum, I headed home through cindersnap forest, and while I was there I found Jas and Vincent looking inside the sewer. I think they said they saw something moving. I collected the spring onions that grew, and headed home.

At the end of the day, I leveled up in farming, and as I reached level 5 I got to chose what profession I wanted, which was tiller.

Spring Year 1 - Day 21

This morning I watched Queen of Sauce and learned how to make radish salad. I also got a letter from Shane with another recipie in it, this time for pepper poppers.

My strawberries were ready to harvest, along with (you guessed it) some tulips, and I headed to the mines with some field snacks after replanting and watering my crops. In all honesty, if I remembered the hell that is floors 30 to 40 without a glow ring, I would have waited, but I powered through anyway. I got quite lucky because I found 3 open floors, so that sped up the process.

On floor 40, I got a slingshot, then realised that I was at 4 hearts with Shane and rushed to the ranch to get the cutscene where I found out more about his alcoholism and mental health problems. While I was in cindersnap forest, I decided to collect the spring onions that grow there, then I headed home and chopped down some trees before calling it a night.

Spring Year 1 - Day 20

Today some more of my crops were ready to harvest, so I had to head in to town to buy more seeds. I got parsnips because I can fit 2 harvests of them in to the end of the month. While i was at Pierre’s, I checked the calender outside and realised it was Shane’s birthday.

After planting my crops, I went down to cindersnap forest to gather some spring onions, before heading back to town to meet Shane at the Stardrop Saloon and buy him a beer for his birthday.

We talked for a bit and he was more friendly than he used to be, and when I took the route through cindersnap forest to go home, I met him again at the pier and we shared another drink.

Spring Year 1 - Day 19

Today I recieved some letters, one from the hat mouse inviting me to buy from them, and the other one was Jodi asking for a cauliflower. As it happens, some of my crops were ready to harvest, including caulifowers.

I delivered the caulifower to Jodi while I was in town buying seeds (potatoes), and then donated the diamond and glass shards to the museum. I did some fishing in the river in town after this and caught a few sunfish.

After planting all my seeds and selling the fish, I headed to the Stardrop Saloon to improve my Journey of the Prarie King skills, although in all honesty I think I’m getting worse. After I gave up, I talked to all the people in the saloon as it was Friday. Even if I didn’t get better at JOTPK, I did at least level up in fishing at the end of the day.

Spring Year 1 - Day 18

This morning some of my parsnips, potatoes and tulips were ready to harvest, so after I watered my other crops, I headed in to town to buy some more tulip bulbs. Before I entered Pierre’s checked the calender and saw that it was Pam’s birthday, so I gave her one of the parsnips.

I also gave tulips to some of the villagers while I was in town, including Alex, Elliott, Evelyn and Shane. After planting my seeds, I went up to the mountain lake to do some fishing, where I also gave a tulip to Linus.

I caught some bullhead, carp and chub, as well as finding a treasure chest that has bait, glass shards and a diamond! When I headed back in to town to donate some of the fish to the community center, I got Linus’ bin rummaging cutscene. I think its harmless, if a bit strange, to rummage through people’s bins, but since I do the same (in game) I can’t really say anything anyway.

When I got back to the farm, I cut down a few trees until my energy ran out and I called it a night, At the end of the day I also leveled up in foraging and fishing.

Spring Year 1 - Day 17

This morning some of my spring seeds were ready to harvest, and when I went to town to buy some more seeds before I realised that Pierre’s is closed on wednesdays. I had to make some more spring seeds to plant instead.

While I was in town, I took some geodes from the ore deposit to Clint to break open, and I got alamite and a dwarvern helm from them. I donated these to the museum and got a painting as a reward.

After planting my seeds, I did some fishing in the river and caught some smallmoth bass. I also got 2 treasure chests when fishing which contained bait and iron ore.

Spring Year 1 - Day 16

This morning some of my crops were ready, so after I harvested them I headed to Pierre’s to buy more seeds. When I got there, the manager from the Joja supermarket came in and started advertising his store, handing out vouchers. Even if it was cheaper, I’m staying away from Joja out of principle, not to mention how I felt when I used to work for them.

After I bought and planted my seeds (more tulips), I did some fishing in the river. I caught a few sunfish and a lot of trash. Then I took my geodes from yesterday to Clint to break open. There was stone, celestine and granite in them, and I donated the celestine to the museum.

I gifted some of the tulips I harvested to Sam and Evelyn when I saw them around town, the I went in to the Stardrop Saloon to play Journey of the Prarie King. I didn’t get very far, but I managed to improve a bit. When I exited that, I talked to Shane and gave him a tulip as well.

Spring Year 1 - Day 15

It was raining again this morning, so I decided to go to the mines as I didn’t have to water my crops, saving energy. There also weren’t any crops ready to harvest or plant.

I headed to the mines and the first floor after the chest room was overrun, which was very annoying as my sword still isn’t that good, but the last enemy on that floor was a rock crab and it dropped a crab when I killed it.

After reaching floor 30, I left the mines because I was running out of energy and health and it was getting late. I took the crab to the community center to donate to the fishing/crab pot bundle. I also leveled up in mining and combat at the end of the day.

Spring Year 1 - Day 14

This morning Queen of Sauce was on TV, so I watched it and learned how to make coleslaw. Some of my crops were also ready to harvest, including a cauliflower, which meant that I could complete the spring crops community bundle!

After donating that to the community center and buying some more seeds, I headed to Clint’s to break open some of the geodes I got yesterday from my mining trip. I had a lot of things from them to donate to the museum, as well as the ancient seed I found, so I actually got 3 rewards! One of them was obviously the plantable ancient seed, and the others were a standing geode and some starfruit seeds.

After that I did some fishing in the mountain lake, but I only caught trash and 2 carp, so I think it was a bad luck day. Overall though, my day went pretty good.

Spring Year 1 - Day 13

I went to the egg festival today straight after watering my crops, and I bought some strawberry seeds from Pierre’s stand. I also bought some seasonal plants to decorate my house with, but I now have a grand total of 17 gold left.

The egg hunt was pretty fun, but I only got 8 eggs so I didn’t win the prize. I really could have done with a hat, but there’s always next year. I could also buy one from the hat mouse when they arrive, but I don’t have enough money to do that at the moment.

I didn’t really get much done around the farm other than watering and planting seeds today because I spent most of my time at the festival, but I did level up in farming.
