I printed a tote bag of my little doodles for the first time ever and I’m a little giddy, is it weird if I wear my own art? P.s I’m working on getting my art shop open soon, finally! After months and months of being grumpy & not liking anything I created. These little lo-fi scribbles have really cheered me up and made me realise my style can be simple & scruffy (but still cute) and that’s a-ok!

Last summer my friend’s mom discovered hundreds of teeny tiny toad tadpoles in a puddle in her driveway. It was drying up, so she asked me about moving them to a nearby pond. I told her not to, because moving amphibians unnaturally between water bodies can spread disease.

So she filled up a watering can every morning and every evening and replenished the puddle, adding dechlorinator drops she uses for her fish tank to make sure the water was safe.

The tadpoles survived and grew up into little toads who eventually hopped out of the puddle.

I think about the tenderness and compassion of this a lot.

Anytime you find the strength to accomplish a dreaded task, it‘s something worth celebrating. Grocery shopping, doing the laundry, showering- it doesn’t matter what it is, you deserve to feel good for managing to do it. Sometimes even simple tasks take more effort than many people will ever understand. Always remember to give yourself credit for trying to be the most productive “you“ possible.

what skincare culture should be: -strong encouragement to use sunscreen and stay away from tanning booths -encouraging little black and brown kids to love their skin color, giving love to people with skin conditions such as vitiligo/albinism/hyper-pigmentation/etc. -good smelling lotion for all what skincare culture is: -unless a women has totally clear poreless pale skin that glows like paintings like the virgin mary she is gross and unhygienic and doesn’t take care of herself -don’t want to be that girl? spend $1000 a year on expensive goo sold by glossier and lush and inject weird chemicals in your skin to get rid of freckles and moles and wrinkles even though you’re only like 25

You don't have to do it all right now. Instead of trying to clean your whole room, maybe just try clearing off your desk. Instead of trying to write a whole essay,maybe just try writing a sentence or two. Getting started is almost always the hardest part, and the smallest steps forward will help you reach your goals.
