May 2019. So after dropping off the face of tumblr for a year, one of the new ones went and *had babies?!*
Discovered by R yesterday in the 20L, I panicked and had to get help relocating the tetras. They look about a day or two? old, and so far there are at least 3? Since they’re in the main tank, I guess I don’t have to worry about losing any after the move like last year. But. Babies!
So that’s why the otos were zippy last week. Wonder if the rain/air pressure triggered it.
Edited because my age estimate was off. They’re close to just hatched, not a week old.

Poor common pleco. He just wants spaaace.

I found this on Facebook and I couldn’t stop laughing.
If you need an algae eating fish, you don’t need a common pleco.
HEADS UP - there are three fish here who are misidentified as plecos. Flying foxes (top left, grow to between 4”-6”), Siamese algae eaters (top center, grow to 11”), and hillstream loaches (bottom center, grow to 2-3”). They are all relatives of fish like clown loaches and believe it or not, goldfish. Hillstream loaches also require a little more skill to keep.

I’ve noticed this for a while now, but our oldest otocat is a biggie. I haven’t been able to get good pics of them together in the main tank, but thankfully they adore the heater (the plants are always WIP). On the left is one of the newest batch, who I managed to transfer from the quarantine tank after the eggs were laid and before getting worried about damaging the eggs. They adjusted pretty well, I thought. Right side is our big one, who had been with us for almost two years now. I know they come in small, but I didn’t realize they’d get bigger than the tetras.
