Looking at my fic stats and going "Girl, never has a fic been read so much and so hated."
In contrast to my other Thad/Terry fic which has a similar amount of readers:
Tumblr media
Genuinely would love to know what's wrong with the first one. I am also too coward to tag this in the proper respective character tags and go: "Hey! Why is this fic I wrote so abysmal??"

Clones, cuddling, and kisses! \o/
There were a lot of ups and downs with this piece, but I am really so happy at how it came out. Especially Match's expression. They both deserve to smile a lot more.

I'm feral for Count Vertigo again and I'm spreading my Werner Vertigo/King Faraday propaganda.
Does it sound like a weird take? Yes, I know it does. But if you look through Werner's appearances he is rarely decent to anyone, so his joking with Faraday, the two being on good terms, clearly trust each other and the other's abilities, and also them being a group deal when Waller reforms the Suicide Squad after they had already worked for her when she was the White Queen of Checkmate is significant. There is practically no one else Werner is close to. The closest I can come up with is Floyd and they weren't exactly friends.
Also Faraday and Werner being together in a romantic sense is interesting and funny because Faraday was the quintessential ladies' man back in the day when he was a spy as well as seduced quite a few women. That was one of his primary characteristic and the irony of the ladies' man and a serial seducer like him is falling for the Count is just perfect in my book.
Also there's the additional hilarity of of Werner having to call him King, given his own royal background and past desire to rule. The potential banter just with that alone would be hilarious.

Fanfic Writers: Director’s Cut
Reblog this if you want readers to come into your ask box and ask for the “director’s commentary” on a particular story, section of a story, or set of lines.
Or, send in a ⭐star⭐  to have the author select a section they’ve been dying to talk about!

ertyuiopghj applying logic to fics when you just want scenarios to happen and for it to be fun.
maybe i want tim and thad to have an interesting story
but logic dictates that Thad's background and killing Bart reaaaaaaly fucks things up.

Rating: Teen
Pairing: Bart Allen/Preston Lindsay
Summary:
Set three years after the conclusion of Impulse, it's summer in Manchester, Alabama once again. Preston Lindsay, now eighteen years old and enjoying his last summer before college begins, finds himself once again reminiscing on the past and on Bart Allen. Three years and there's been no word from his best friend. But one day he reappears and neither Preston or Bart are the same again.
Excerpt:
The voice drew him back. It drew him back in time, way waaaaaaaaaay back. Just like Alice finding her way to Wonderland, his mind followed a brown hare down the rabbit hole as he was pulled back to junior high, back to when the sun shined brighter, when each day meant a new adventure with his best friend with his funny quirks and ways. He heard his voice and knew it shouldn’t have been possible. His hand trembled the slightest. His mouth felt dry. He didn’t want to lower his camera and be disappointed that his ears were tricking him. He didn’t want to know that he had just misheard the voice, but he could have sworn he heard him, he heard.... “Bart?”

about commenting, what if idk how to compliment and it's repetitive like, nice, this is great. what if they get tired of dry comment. 🥲
I obviously can't speak for all fanfic writers out there, but I can tell you that I have a couple of people who, on my Sladick fics, comment many chapters and stories with a string of emojis (or with a very short compliment like the ones you mentioned).
They never fail to make my day. Whenever I see their comment I smile and reread the chapter and try to imagine which part got them to feel like sending that string of hearts and happy emojis. If I'm having a bad day it gets considerably better. Before I post anything I wonder if they'll have time to read, and if there's going to be any passage in my latest smutty thing that will make them feel like sending that string of emojis.
And again I can't speak for all fanfic writers but there have been numerous polls on tumblr that show an overwhelming response of people BEGGING readers to comment even just with a couple of words or a little emoji.
Comments are never dry because they show love. Literally anon, your "nice fic!" might be the difference between an author never posting again or finishing that story, I am not exaggerating. Don't downplay the importance of a kind word, even if it feels repetitive.

(text description in ALT and below the cut)
Based on some rumblings I heard, I ended up quickly throwing together a fun little WIP bingo sheet! I'll admit I largely wrote the prompts for writing, but I think a good number of them should also apply to art!
Ultimately, the goal is to have fun, and finish whatever WIPs you can (without burning yourself out or having a bad time). If you needed a sign to pick up that project you've been putting off, the time is now!
3x4 Bingo square titled "Finish your fucking fics february"
the top three across left to right read "Update your oldest WIP", "Finish a WIP that's been buried deep in your drafts", and "Finish a WIP that you haven't posted yet"
the second row reads "Finish a recent WIP", "Finish a WIP you're scared of" and "Finish a WIP that's been haunting you"
the third row reads "Update a partially posted WIP", "Finish any WIP/Free Space", and "Finish the next WIP in a series you've been avoiding"
the last row reads "Update your newest WIP", "Finish a WIP that's been ignored for at least 6 months", and "Finish the next chapter for a fic you've been meaning to for months"

No one reblogs on tumblr anymore.
No one leaves comments on Ao3 anymore.
Seriously people the lack of fandom interaction these days makes me genuinely depressed, it never used to be like this, makes me wonder what's the point of coming online to do anything anymore.
Reblog a post so other people can see it.
Leave a comment so the author doesn't feel like giving up.
Fandom cannot live on Likes or Kudos alone.

Wrote this fic for @ftl-faster-than-life's fic for art trade. Albeit I am a bit late with it, but still I had fun taking a shot at writing Eobard and his very interesting dynamic with Barry.
