The Blacklist did what...?
Sooo....because I don’t see a point watching it, and I’m too late to go over the million rants and posts, how did The Blacklist actually end? Did the “prolific” writers fuck it up in the spectacular way as expected? Sorry to tag you @alyblacklist @nancyjocom but I can’t think off the top of my mind to tag anyone else right now.

i learned about Marion Stokes, a Philadelphia woman who began taping whatever was on television in 1979 and didn’t stop until her death in 2012.. The 71,000 VHS and Betamax tapes she made are the most complete collection preserving this era of TV. They are being digitized by the Internet Archive. (x)

It just dawned on me that perhaps this version of Lucy is the embodiment of all the young people who jokingly (or not as much) talk about death, their death specifically. I’m sure we’ve all shared or commented on a post of someone we know who’s posted something along the lines of “when you wake up and find out you’re still alive”. You know the content I’m talking about. In the past couple of years the subject of death for people in their mid 20′s has been so vast, social media was basically overflowing and still is. Hey life sucks, so I guess Death come take me. And isn’t Lucy precisely like those people? We’re shown one image of her among her friends and then another when she’s with Dracula, alone and can be honest about what she thinks about life and people. And isn’t the military woman in the beginning of episode 3 the embodiment of all the women who have been told numerous times by strangers to smile, cause they would look prettier? And when she obliges, possibly demeaning herself, Dracula kills her, not for fun, not to show off, but because she did exactly as she was told and he found out people haven’t changed much in 123 years? Then this fits with his views of “no one having rights”. Moffat and Gatiss simply took aspects of social media culture and threw them in a pot. Sure they rehashed some Sherlock scenes and episode three was as much a Torchwood flavored episode as it was a Sherlockian one. I ain’t having a beef with that. They took the source material and gave it a refreshing spin. I didn’t want to watch the same story again, I know it by heart and have seen pretty much every adaptation of the character of Dracula. And what about Mina? She wasn’t a worthless character - she did travel all the way to find her fiancee and even wanted to stand by his side even though he was clearly fucking dead. Then when given the opportunity to escape she didn’t cower - she funded an institute in his name to specifically fuck with his abductor and killer knowing well that it might take centuries, but she made sure that building and the research it would do would stick around no matter the cost. I could have done with just a banter between Dracula and Agatha for 3 episodes, I could have done without Quincy or Lucy or Jack. Heck, whatever they had some shit on their mind, they put it in. They did no less than other showrunners would do in the case. But they tried something fresh on the vampire mythology, gave it a scientific touch if you want to call it that. I liked that. It’s a nice reflection of our society as well, because we’re bound by similar proverbs or beliefs and sometimes life comes along and shines a different light on what we’ve been taught and told. I’m sorry this turned out super, super long. Bottom line is of course Claes Bang was fantastic, fun, scary and down right gorgeous. I rest my case yo!
Am I the only one who enjoyed BBC’s Dracula?? I feel like I am the only one.
I feel like I have finally found the Dracula that used to scared the shit out of me when I was a kid after so long of versions of him as a tragic immortal. I wish to discuss and enjoy conversation about this series with someone who liked it also please lol

Fabiola by Francis Alÿs
Fabiola is an installation of over 300 painted copies and reproductions of fourth century Saint-Fabiola, collected by Francis Alÿs from flea markets and antique shops throughout Europe and America in the last 20 years. They are all based on a now lost original painting by french artist Jean-Jacques Henner made in the nineteenth century.

*slow impressed clap* Hell to the heckin’ yes! So refreshing to read like-minded folk around here.
Dom's perspective of the story is almost too perfect...even sugar-coated. After 6 seasons we don't get the last pieces of the puzzle to fit them so easily. So that last scene in Hong Kong, boy was Red low key furious. He didn't even flinch at being called Iliya. I think Liz's happiness at her newly discovered "truth" is going to turn bittersweet in her mouth. Do you also feel that cold wind of doubt & shenanigans blowing in?
Oh I definitely think Dom told Liz a watered down version just as Liz would or at least should tell a watered down version of Tom to Agnes. What purpose would it serve to list all the gory details? Absolutely none that I can see.
I do believe that Liz is entitled to know some but not necessarily all of the history especially if there are events her mother expressly would never want her to know. FRed speaks of His truth not Liz’s but there is also a truth that is Katarina’s that also doesn’t involve Liz.
And Liz has her own story and part of that she may one day not necessarily want her daughter to know. It’s a wicked web we weave and sometimes we want to keep certain threads to ourselves. So I definitely get FRed’s pov on that.
And yeah he was furious which is always fun to see Mr Always in Control try to stay that way especially with Liz who sends him reeling so much of the time. The dude basically stays locked in a constant state of “Lizzy you disappoint me and why am I so turned on right now and by the way I’ll love you forever” I’m just grabbing the popcorn for what’s to come.
Shenanigans is one of my favorite words and YES!!! a thousand times yes I believe more are on the way. And we may yet have another I’m done we’re done you lied go to hell meltdown from Liz as per usual. She wants the truth but has a funny way of not believing it when it’s presented to her and clinging to falsehoods she should recognize are prime bs. I’d love it if what we saw was a glimpse of a new and improved Liz but I wouldn’t be surprised if the old one is in there waiting to lash out as soon as more truths come to light that she doesn’t really care for. Liz has a way of shaping events to fit the story she has fabricated in her mind and all hell tends to break loose when something comes along that messes with it. We shall see.
Perhaps she should concentrate on raising her daughter instead of fixating on a very painful past…just a thought. Or perhaps she can’t seem to not try and solve the puzzle that is the man she loves and who she flew around the globe to see and have a chat with hehe. Cheers

Well idk if TF is trolling but the official video is up on YouTube and its the lipsync from Instagram so.... yeah.
Now that we’ve heard Dance Macabre album version…
I wanna hear all y'all’s predictions for a possible M/V.
This song gives me midnight in a Church garden vibes (very specific lol). Moonlight and gardenias and Copia in dat white suit.
I have a feeling the m/v (if we are blessed with one) will be very romantic 😘
Comment your predictions!
