math class was never something sera liked. but to be chased down for not finishing last night's homework? maybe that was going too far. ever since being sent to alnwick, seraphina has been haunted by dreams of some vile creature, stalking the halls of the school she called home for the past 2 years. but when she finds six scratches on the outside of her dormatory door, one for her whole friend group? maybe those graphs were important.

𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 the first two years of study at alnwick had proved themselves to be normal. a typical boarding school, albeit full of magical students, one meant to help them control what set them apart from the rest of the world. but in the third year of seraphina's stay, students begin to go missing, and doppelgängers of them showing up to classes instead, sera and her friends know they have to do something.

through more time spent in the library than ever before and countless late-night sprints through the halls to stay alive, they come across the answers they needed all along. but with answers, now all they need is a plan. and how did a group of teenagers stop a curse meant to keep them from leaving?

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 alnwick academy was founded in 1856, originally hoping to rid students of their unnatural magical powers. however, it's shifted into a school to train these abilities due to the inhumanity of taking them away. students here aren't allowed to leave for holidays due to the difficulty of getting to the island the school is located on, but the island is stocked with all necessary things for any emergency. events, activities, sports, and countless other things are constantly being held to keep students sane and able to reconnect with the outside world easily when they leave.

a phd student and a minecraft youtuber? more likely than you think. never enough time to finish that lab, but always enough time to finish the back of that build grian never got to. cubfan has some competition now, as another published scientist on the same server is in the making.

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 seraphina grew up in boston, massachusetts, dreaming about a whimsical life on the developing internet, but yearning for the MIT libraries. at the birth of minecraft, she knew who she'd become, crafting up the youtube arg centered around it that spawned her in the minds of everyone as a storyteller for the ages. the popularity from just the stories led to more digital fame as she started to join series with her newfound friends.

later joining hermitcraft in season 3, seraphina hasn't quit her niche of youtube and still occasionally visits her roots within nostalgic horror. but nothing about her online fame will stop her from finally getting that damn phd. who'd expect that from her?

oh i’m so excited— answering for my pirate dr 😛

⌛OH, HOW TIME FLIES... nothing about me is the same anymore. the pirate business changes you more than just skin-deep. tan lines, sea sprayed freckles, and sun bleached hair came to be a stark difference from my old, dark haired and fair skinned child self. the sea makes you cruel, too. it’s unforgiving, an “every man for himself” type environment. it made me wary of other people and ships, changed my sense of direction (both morally and literally), isolated me and spat me back out completely different from before i got my ship. but i haven’t matured. not one bit; unless you count the few grey hairs and the fear of vulnerability. under my tough pirate demeanor, i’m nothing more than the child my parents raised me to be.

📸 PERFECTLY KEPT POLAROIDS... if i could keep any memory as a picture in my wallet.. i wouldn’t be able to choose. it’s a nightly reoccurrence when i listen to the waves against my ship, to think about the day i first laid my hands on the wheel, the look on my dad’s face as he let me finally take over the ship he trained me to do for years. but i tend to go back to the day i swore i saw astonia. i swear on my life, the island we just couldn’t seem to get to was the island id been told to find my whole life. i remember it so vividly, and i regret not trying harder. but that’s why i visit that memory so much, to keep the knowledge that it’s real alive. i’d hang that on my wall if i could.

💘 STIRRINGS IN MY CHEST... i think besides the obvious.. i miss the worst man ive ever met. does that even make sense? probably not. we weren’t always rivals with the silver scream, after all. their captain just… up and left me before ever even setting sail. i can’t tell if what i feel about him is hatred or love anymore, it’s all blended into one. i still find myself writing him letters, when i’m miles from even seeing land, my pen sticky with sweat and maybe love, maybe hate. when i see him on the ocean, the yelling between ships bring me back to a simpler time. some days i do wish for him back, but only to make him feel the way i did.

a good pirate is an elusive one, and if seraphina is one thing, it’s elusive. the blue scythe, the oldest and most well-known crew of pirates, has ran in her family since the dawn of days, but never has it been as elusive as now. rumored to rule her crew with an iron fist, the only woman on the seven seas sure knows what she’s doing. her crew, on the other hand, not so much

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 her dad dedicated his career to finding astonia. seraphina, however, dedicated hers to beating the silver scream in every way she could.

sera grew up on the ocean with her father, the previous captain of the blue scythe, learning how to man a ship.. or woman one, and clearly she was better at it. after inheriting the ship and taking over as captain at only 17, she opted to hire the children of the old crew, who she’d gotten close to over the years. but no training could’ve prepared any of them for the drama of the sea, and the knuckle-biting race to find the island of astonia.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 the world seraphina calls home consists of purely islands. all countries of the planet earth are their own island, usually far enough away from other islands that they tend to be hard to see. countries like america and canada, instead, are split up by province and state. however, the planet of islands is far larger than the earth of the stories, and is also covered by its fair share of floating islands and mysterious parts of the ocean where land seemingly appears and disappears. the lost island of astonia, one of the legends, is one pirates have been searching for since the dawn of days.
