An Exercise in Microstory Writing
The Fool Walks Here
The room wasn’t bright for a medical office, but that didn’t matter when she walked in. I wondered if anyone else felt the earth quake. It could have been high noon or midnight and I wouldn’t have noticed. I introduced myself, and we bantered like lifelong best friends (or new lovers). I didn’t understand it was more than that. We had known each other in so many other lifetimes, coming together, fated, feeling the gamut of 3D emotions. Each time reuniting for the next chapter like moths to a flame, blind to the cliff we were one step away from.

Places where reality is a bit altered:
• any target • churches in texas • abandoned 7/11’s • your bedroom at 5 am • hospitals at midnight • warehouses that smell like dust • lighthouses with lights that don’t work anymore • empty parking lots • ponds and lakes in suburban neighborhoods • rooftops in the early morning • inside a dark cabinet

easy witchy tips i have learnt through my craft
writing a protective sigil inside your door to avoid bad energies to enter your room
making sigils by yourself works better because you pour your intention into it and can be a great way to manifest
white candles can replace any candle when doing candle magick
clear quartz can replace any crystal
when drinking your daily coffee/tea, stir clockwise to manifest something and anti-clockwise to let go of something. repeat your affirmations as you stir
salt baths absorb bad energies so having a salt bath once in a while helps with having your energies balanced
write an affirmation in a bay leaf and burn it to manifest it
always keep iron on you for protection
work with the moon phases and transits to make your spells more powerful
keep a sigil in your phone case for protection/manifestation
after giving an offering to a deity, return it to the earth
drink mugwort tea for lucid dreaming/astral projection (don’t drink it if you are pregnant!!)
before you put a crystal under water or in the sun, research about it
keep a dream journal. it helps for lucid dreaming.
put an amethyst under your pillow to sleep better and to recall your dreams
charge your tarot/oracle cards by putting a crystal on top of them while you are not usinf them
mix moon or sun water with your cosmetics for a quick beauty spell
try to do an activity to connect yourself with each element everyday. (ex: a bath for water, walking barefoot for earth, lighting a candle for fire, singing for air)
make an habit of meditating everyday

RETURN TO SENDER SPELL
After the Saturn-Jupiter alignment night of hell, I went on a massive search for curse reversal spells. I found tons under various names (curse reversal, return to thee, return to sender, reverse mirror spells, etc). I read for hours… days in truth. I wrote down several spells and nit picked what I liked out of each spell to make something of my own that I felt matched my power and my needs. At this point in time I do not know where I actually found all the sites to be able to put a reference list together, I apologize. We decided that, to our knowledge, there was only three people that would come after us, even unknowingly, through manifestation via their loathing for us. We decided to do 4 complete reversal spells: 3 aimed at each person individually and 1 for a possible unknown culprit. The following is what I came up with:
Items needed:
-Small mirror (Do NOT reflect your face in mirror)
-Anointing oil (Any oil will do, I used olive)
-Black Pepper
-Oregano
-Black candle
-Something to carve writing into candle with (Athame, a pin needle, etc)
-Permanent marker
-Lighter or matches
Instructions:
1. With the permanent marker, without catching your reflection in the mirror, write the known cursers name on the reflective surface.
2. With your sharp carving tool, carve the cursers name into the side of the candle, take up as much space as possible. You can write their name multiple times if you’d like. If you do not know your cursers name you can opt to carve ‘return to thee’ or ‘return to sender’ instead.
3. Mix black pepper and oregano together.
4. Anoint candle with oil, then roll in spice mixture to cover the sides of the candle.
5. I melted the bottom of the candle with a lighter and placed in the center of the mirror so it would stand up on its own. You do not have to do this. You can use a candle holder instead if you feel it safer.
6. As you light the candle, state your incantation. Mine was:
“Sender of evil, menacing foe, after this spell you reap what you sow;
This mirror reflects the will that you send,
My hands are clean, my soul will mend;
Return to maker and leave me in peace,
Should the way be barred, your power will cease;
With this spell my soul is free;
As I will, so mote it be.”
7. Let the candle burn out on its own. Do not blow it out. Dispose of the remains away from your home and property. Do not keep it near you.

it takes years to learn the difference between who to let go and who to be patient with. the same way it takes years to know what you deserve and what you don’t. so hang on there, growth and experience come with time.

lavender lemon bars
this is a super tasty recipe that makes about 24 bars!
what you need:
- cooking spray
- 2/3 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup confectioners sugar, plus more for dusting
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- 1 tsp ground dried culinary grade lavender
- pinch or 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 5 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 5 lemons)
what to do:
1. preheat the oven to 350°, line a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with foil, leaving a 2 inch overhang on two sides; coat the foil with cooking spray. whisk 2 cups flour with the confectioners sugar, lemon zest, lavender, and salt in a large bowl. work in the butter with your fingers until large clumps form.
2. press the mixture into the prepared pan in an even layer using damp or oiled fingers. bake until lightly browned, 20-25 minutes. let cool 5 minutes.
3. meanwhile, whisk the eggs, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and remaining 1/3 cup flour until smooth. pour over the crust.
4. bake until the bars are set, 20-25 minutes. transfer the pan to a rack to cool completely
5. lift the bars out of the pan using the foil overhang; peel off the foil. dust the bars with confectioners sugar and cut into squares.

“The patient: this 3-day-old little boy was born with torn upper and lower wings. Let’s see how we can help!”
Today the Department of Awesomely Good Deeds salutes costume designer and master embroiderer Romy McCloskey who used her fine skills with delicate materials to help a monarch butterfly she’d raised and who’d emerged from his cocoon with damaged right wings.
“The operating room and supplies: towel, wire hanger, contact cement, toothpick, cotton swab, scissors, tweezers, talc powder, extra butterfly wing”

“Securing the butterfly and cutting the damaged parts away. Don’t worry it doesn’t hurt them. It’s like cutting hair or trimming fingernails”

“Ta-da! With a little patience and a steady hand, I fit the new wings to my little guy”

“The black lines do not match completely and it is missing the black dot (male marking) on the lower right wing, but with luck, he will fly”

“FLIGHT DAY! After a day of rest and filling his belly with homemade nectar, it is time to see if he will fly”
“With a quick lap around the yard and a little rest on a bush, he was off! A successful surgery and outcome! Bye, little buddy! Good luck”
