I have learned several things. Such as polluted water, as uncommon as it is in my time, makes it incredibly hard to breath. And also how to drive off clingy octopi (I have no idea why they like me so much). And how to tell a shipwreck apart from someone’s hive.

That last one is very important. …Not that most fully-grown seadwellers I know have much use for their hives. All of them are too busy with important duties our dear Condesce should really be capable of doing herself.

…Or ‘shoald reely be capable of doing hershellf’, if I were to mimic her speech patterns.

They certainly lead to some interesting adventures. When I was first given the ability to turn into a seadweller, I didn’t even know how to swim. I wound up getting caught in a current, and being rescued by a troll who used to be a horrorterror feared by the collective trolls of Alternia.
