Welcome to the reptile room, Andouille!

Good afternoon. My first post is still in content appeal… apparently I looked like a questionable object! :( But whatever the case, I’m alive and well and doing fine!

Ruby is the only one who didn’t get a photo shoot the other day, as she was going into shed and I didn’t want to bug her.
She’s a yearling Dumeril’s boa, and is one of the calmest of the bunch. She loves burying herself in her substrate. She’s the “defective” snake; her tongue doesn’t flicker, like most. Her throat moves when she tries, but no tongue pops out. Poor girl! But it doesnt seem to stop her. She still does everything she’s supposed to do, and is growing at the rate she should!

Introduction!
Name: Harley
Type: Normal (wild type) Pacific Gopher snake
Age: A little over 1 year
Length: 1’8”
Likes: Being out, but also hiding, tubes
Dislikes: ??? Nothing!
Harley was a hatchling who was curious, but incredibly weak and malnourished. We brought him home and fixed him up and he’s been here ever since! Although he can be a little timid, and sometimes he pretends to be a rattle snake, he’s always up for an adventure and is always sure to thoroughly check out his environment.

Introduction!
Name: Ember
Type: Albino Ball Python
Age: About 2.5 months
Length: 10”?
Likes: Sleeping, hiding, food
Dislikes: Sneaky people, bright light
Ember is the newest member of the family! She’s a beautiful baby, who is just starting to learn to trust her human caretakers. Still a little timid, and still shy, but she’s settling in nicely with gentle handling.

Introduction!
Name: Max
Type: Normal (wild type) Boa Constrictor
Locality: Suriname
Age: 7 months
Length: 1’10”
Likes: Exploring, climbing, dirt, blelelelele
Dislikes: Going back to his vivarium :(, not being fed on time, feeling like he’s about to fall
I ordered Max from a wonderful breeder in Texas. Max was a captive born baby in Suriname, and he fits right in here. His flight didn’t seem to disturb him too much; he slithered right out of his shipment bag to say hello and has been mellow ever since. EXCEPT FOR when you wake him in the middle of the day. Then he becomes his alter ego, Mr. Hissypissy.

Introduction!
Name: Little Red
Type: Hypomelanistic Boa Imperator
Locality: Nicaragua
Age: 1 year
Length: 2’1”
Likes: HIS PRIVACY, dark, warmth
Dislikes: Sudden movements!
Little Red caught my eye for weeks before I brought him home. No photo does him justice - he is beautiful snake, covered with iridescence and deep red undertones. He’s a nervous little guy, sometimes a little nippy, but definitely a pretty boy who is very much loved.

Introduction!
Name: Hissy Fitz (Fitz)
Type: Normal (wild type) Western Hognose (but definitely wants you to think he is a cobra)
Age: 1.5 years
Length: 10”
Likes: Burrowing, water, sitting still
Dislikes: Feeding tongs, waking up, strangers
Fitz came to us somewhat unexpectedly, but it was a very happy surprise. He was a tiny hatchling who was so small that he had to start eating on tiny pieces of hard boiled eggs. Definitely the most dramatic in the whole family, he played dead once when I tried to feed him - he was the most offended ever. He is absolutely a character, who never fails to entertain!

Introduction!
Name: Tesla
Type: Brazilian Rainbow Boa
Age: 6 months
Length: 16”
Likes: Most plants, burrowing, raaainbooows
Dislikes: The pony palm plant o.o
Tesla came to us from up North; I drove over 100 miles one way to get him! He is a mellow, sweet, definitely not fussy little guy. He’s a fan of hanging out in the evenings on a warm person, and sleeping.

Introduction!
Name: Ophelia
Type: Normal (wild type) Trans-Pecos Rat Snake
Age: 2 years
Length: 3’4”
Likes: Hiding, burrowing, being super fast!
Dislikes: Lights, activity, rats (whyyyy)
Ophelia came to us when a local reptile shop was closing. He put this teensy little snake with huge eyes into my hands, and I was hooked! I had to have her! She’s a little bit of an anxious girl, but she’s getting better as she gets older.

Introduction!
Name: Mariana (Mari)
Type: Normal (wild type) Boa Imperator
Age: About 2 years
Locality: Colombia
Length: 4’8”
Likes: Food, people watching, food
Dislikes: Being hungry, being wet, being in grass
Mari came to us from a local reptile shop. She would eat every day if she could convince her family to feed her so often, and she will not be convinced that it would be a bad thing for her. She enjoys laying on the top of the sofa and enjoys beds with soft, fluffy blankets.
