4.21 when the levee breaks. dean forcefully locks sam up to “fix” him ♡

sam literally just escaped being locked in the panic room and now he has to go on the run from dean and he’s scared because he knows dean’s gonna come after him

also thinking about sam and dean in the early kripke pilot draft and his original pitch. sam is frightened of dean. and dean’s lines “you think i’m scary-unbalanced, right?” “so why would you wanna piss off a scary-unbalanced dude?”…much to think about. we got a different pilot with different sam and dean but the fact that kripke had this vision of their dynamic makes me a bit insane, and i think it’s safe to say this vision is still very much present in canon, except it’s more blatant in late kripke seasons (s4-5)

Here is a pro tip for people: If you want to see more of a certain type of content within the fandom, like say top!Dean Winchester, then you should spend your time creating that content and not complaining about works that don't align with your preferences. It is extremely disheartening to writers to see nothing but complaints in a tag, especially when we write varying dynamics.

There is already SO MUCH hate within the fandom directed at wincest shippers, we don't also need the call to come from inside the house. We all have preferences for the type of content we want to see, whether it's a certain ship, top/bottom dynamics, or kinks. All hating does is discourage people from creating. Also, if you interact with the content you DO like, you will see more of it and encourage more content creation.

im 100% a deangirl but can we talk about sam??early seasons sam's happiest memories weren't even of his family!!! but it's because he always knew his family was lacking something that other families had. dean meanwhile remembered what his family was like and could be again if he kept hunting. sam never knew his mother as a child, he never knew john as a father, he rebelled against hunting because he never knew anything else, as opposed to dean at least accepting hunting. especially in the early seasons, sam was consistently seen as "other" and "different" and a "freak", sam was always more nerdy, more feminine, not the "ideal man" that john portrayed. dean even called him samantha and would often scoff at potential "chick flick" moments.

there's also sam and lucifer (mental health/self-harm/voices), sam and demon blood (addiction/queerness), sam and ruby (abusive relationship), sam and dean (co-depdent/among other things), sam and gadreel (coercion/consent), sam and john (authority issues) etc. not to mention sam and jack (where jack is a stand-in for early seasons sam) and sam had to watch dean repeat all his mistakes from the demon blood while sam just wants to love and teach jack like he wished someone had done for him!! double not to mention that by the end of the series, sam has seen everyone he loves die. im talking john, mary, jack, cas, dean, crowley, gabriel, rowena, bobby, every early seasons love interest, elieen, he found charlie's body and then had to deal with moc dean's bullshit. he's just been through a lot and i don't think about it enough.
