It's interesting how Jacob and Janine are kinda similar, but also opposites. They both have difficult relationships with their parents and they both had a somewhat tense relationships with their sibling at a point. But where Janine stayed and resented her sister for leaving, Jacob left and had a strained relationship with his brother. Jacob seems to have gone no-contact with his parents, whereas Janine is desperate for a good relationship with her mom. Both Jacob and Ayesha feel inferior to their sibling bc they feel like people view them as the "lesser" sibling. Caleb is cooler, more likable, and seems to be the preferred sibling to their parents and the people around them. Ayesha feels inferior to Janine bc she has an education and a respectable career while people "gave up on her". Both Janine and Caleb also seemed somewhat oblivious to the severity of their sibling's difficult relationship to their parents.
