When Portals Collide

It was the regular and inviting day of Dream Land where the very obtuse creatures were ready for the whole bouncy atmosphere. It wasn’t long until the King was at his training post, punching away on a whole sandbag that’s already hanging in preparation for his whole fists of fury. In days like these, mainly during the sunny and rather humid weathers, the King decided to dedicate a whole training session towards a certain goal.

Ever since he was voted as one of the lowest competitors of the tournament, Dedede vowed to increase his skills and work his own way towards the top, even by any means necessary.

All nearly came to a crashing halt where he missed his target by a mile and therefore had his face become the actual punching bag for once; the target in question walloped him in the face, sending him spiralling down across the ground.

“Umph! Aww, Nova-damnit, in whut kinda way this s’pose t’help me progress?”

Well, he did it, but mostly to himself. After allowing his finishing blow across the monster mayhem, the King then fell towards his own fatigue, passing out across the same Gordo that he used beforehand. Let’s just say that for the next time, he would have to control those portals and not leave them anywhere for anyone to enter. He would have a great time to explain it properly.

Therefore, at this moment, the King passed out of the day after his own stability took a toll on him. It wasn’t the tournament, but the monarch overused this alternative body he bared. Throughout the journey back, he was mumbling all sorted of nonsense relating to; “land o’ dreams”, “waddlin’ Dee’s” and “clobbah that there Kirby”.

His body felt the impact of the couch, where he had comfort for the first time since this morning. The moment he woke up, however, his eyes flickered, only to see a faint figure standing above him. Who… Who was this?

In fact, where was he?! The moment he began to gain the slight bit of composure, the King stirred almost immediately. “Ugh. Uuuuggghhhh. Where. Am. I…?” However, his movements caused the teen to fall across his front, landing on the floor. “Umphh…! Where in Nova am I s’pose t’be?”

After saving New York from the chaos caused by Ice Dragon and Bonkers, it would appear that the teen had passed out. Considering she had only seen him while trying to take control of the monsters, who knows what he had been up to prior to all this happening.

Not wanting to just leave him here, The Rose Shield scooped him up and flew him out of the city. To her home to be exact. It was located somewhere in the countryside in the middle of nowhere. Judging by the fact that it was a luxury home, it could be assumed that the heroine was pretty wealthy.

Once they got inside her house, the woman placed him gently on her couch and proceeded to take off her mecha suit, revealing her true identity as a tall redheaded woman. Since he was out of it for the time being, the ginger walked away to get some snacks and something to drink for when he finally wakes up.

Honestly, it felt rather peaceful that the puffball was away doing his thing, which made the perfect opportunity to leave the King to his own devices. Absorbing the warm and yet smooth material of his rooftop, the monarch slumbered rather tranquilly, refusing to allow a single sound bother him. The only sounds his ear holes allowed were the faint whispers of the wind and the sound of Tookey’s chirping.

Well, nothing lasts forever, unlike his ego.

“Uhhhh-huh? Sizzlin’? Waddle Dee’s makin’ a baron barbecue already… FOR ME?” This self-entitled dream wasn’t to be, however, for he didn’t smell any sausages or burgers.

That’s when the whole time of relaxation came to an end. “YAH!! REVOLT!! REBELLION!! SOMEONE’S PUT M’CRIB UNDER SIEGE!! CALL THA HALBERD, AAAHHHH!!”

It literally all can to a crashing halt, quite so indeed, as the King was sent spiralling all the way down, where a great pile of rubble waited for him.

“Gahhhhhhh… ow. Uhhh, whut jus’ happened?” The dazed avian baron sat upon his spot, Warp Stars spinning around his noggin, while he looked at the stranger in front of him.

“Ughhh, tea-time, already? Wit’ honey, lemon… an’ a scone as well, ugh…” then he shook his head, witnessing the very suspect upfront with eyes of stone.

He didn’t care that they had a truce when inside their adventures; Dedede had to keep his castle completely clean of anything quick and clueless, especially when involving his own heirloom that came all the way from Shiver Star’s former civilisation.

As the King made sure that the corridors, lobby, bathroom and even the vault were all spick and span, he released an exhale that was so powerful, it sent all of the Waddle Dee cleaners away!

“Now that tha castle’s all clean, it’s time this here monarch lives up t’his species heritage an’ soak in a few sun rays. Dun’ disturb me no how, ‘less there’s ‘nother freak out for crushin’ m’kingdom ’gain.”

It was currently in the afternoon and the young monarch sat across, hunching his back to the tree and spare Sandbag, while taking a bottle of Maxim Tomato juice towards his lips. Exhaling after a good sip, the King stared towards the sun.

“Days like this here ain’t that there perfect. Somethin’s gonna happen an’ we’ll be in for it before we even know it.” the King especially was paranoid for what the future held since his kingdom was made the prime target of a terrible takeover time to time again; you name it, they had it, ranging from a clay world, all the colours draining and even the grass turning into metal!

So, this left the monarch in a worrisome position, which made him sit rather still across the whole hill. Dropping his workout bottle, the King began to overthink about the times… before he felt a pair of paws across his arm.

“Whuh? Whazzat…? Huh? A… a dawg? Hey! It’s a dog, what’cha doin’ here, lil’ guy? Where’s yer owner ‘round these here parts?” His position shifted towards his hands and knees, staring down into those bulbous eyes.

“Wit’ eyes like those there, it’ll be hard t’even miss yer master or mistress!”
