Any tips for drawing gore art? I want to try drawing blood and organs but the shading and anatomy are super tricky :(

hi, i can't really be of much help with anatomy (since i bullshit my way through it a lot of the time LOL), but i can share a few things i keep in mind while coloring

blood isn't just pure red, there's often very faint bits of orange, too. you don't need to put orange in the parts where there's a lot of blood pooling together (i actually deepen the red there), but i like to shift the hue slightly towards orange at the edges.

when drawing deep injuries, don't forget about the fat! you don't need to do anything crazy, just some bits of yellow is enough. if you want more detailed shading, it can help to think of the hypodermis as looking like those beans from an english breakfast... i do this haha.

i usually do not care enough to do super detailed shading on organs, just slapping on a slight darker/saturated version of the base color wherever i deem fit + adding highlights is enough for me to be happy with the result.

hi, going back to blood, on smaller cuts (that are still deep enough to bleed), the blood coming out won't all be little legs dripping down. from my own experience, there's pretty much always some "beads" of blood, as well. i'd also like to add that the surrounding skin will be a little red from inflammation.

i'm not the greatest with explanations, so i decided to also record myself drawing a few cuts and The Blood Thing™ i like to do
