So I hate to do this but I’m gonna have to put Donnie on Hiatus. 

For how long? I have no idea.

I dislike how the show is super silly and we’ve only had two plot based episodes. I love TMNT, I do. And I know it’s silly that I have a preference for serious-ish plot episodes in a show about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But I seriously can’t bring myself to watching the newest one. I just. Can’t. Maybe when it looks more plot based I will but the now shows hype has died for me and I can’t get a real muse for Donnie. It feels OOC like I’m making him my own character instead of making him Donatello.

I love you all, you’re all amazing and this isn’t the end for me. I may get inspiration and return but for now, I just can’t bring myself to work on this blog/icons and all.

a simple starter for @razzntazz

       Three knocks to his little brothers shell. "We outtie." he didn't need to say much. It was night, Junkyard would be empty which meant massive picking for the two creative brains. Donnie adjusted his shell at the exit to their home. "After, we should totally head for some ice cream. I hear the new shop that opened is amazing." he reached down, hoisting a rather large yet empty sack over his shoulder. 

       While Mikey could be a mystery to a mind such as himself, there was no denying the two meshed quite well together. Both thinking of new ways to reinvent the wheel in their own special way, it made bonding enjoyable. When he noticed his little brother not leaping up in excitement he decided to tease. Shoulders slumped and a false frown and brow pulled. “Or do you want some other hippie artist to take discarded spray-cans and brushes from your three-fingered grasp?” ah, he couldn’t hold that frown for a smile jumped up the moment he finished his dry question.

        “Ya-da-da da, da-da-da-da---” he’s singing the spooky glee because today is absolutely one of his favorite holidays. A man of science, sure, but who didn’t enjoy the theories and possibilities of spooks and specters? Horror movies galore, this was the night for Donatello!

         He continued to hum the Hallow Days tune as he carved out several pumpkins. Faces of inventors past. “Oh Miss Mary Anderson, you’re going to look boo-tiful!” a chuckle and snort. “Ahhh...” feet kicked idly as he sat at the kitchen table. “Dadada-dada...”

Raphael’s design and body type in Rottmnt is getting a lot of hate. BUT  THE BOY IS BEAUTIFUL. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT THE WAY HE IS. PRECIOUS.  Protect this boy.

a donnie hc : splinter had to teach him to stop biting at an early age cause soft shells are considered aggressive. donnie's go to whenever he got upset or frustrated was to bite someones arm or leg. imagine him going after leo whenever the two got into it and donnie latching on to leo's leg.

okay, yeah that sounds like a good one! 

Especially with my HC he has an overbite the whole bitting thing makes sense. 

I say he stopped doing it when he was like 6. But to this day you see him idly chewing on wood or gum. Gotta whole container stashed in his room and from that container is a shoot to his lab. Press a button and bam, gum.

THE  HOUR  WAS  CLOSING  TO  MIDNIGHT  which  only  made  the  turtle  exceptionally  curious  as  to  what  kind  of  mission  his  brother  could  possibly  take  on  on  his  own  during  the  hour . he  had  first  caught  his  sibling  in  the  lair  after  catching  the  movement  at  the  corner  of  his  eye  from  the  main  room . sleep  was  something  of  an  inconsistent  variable  to  the  blue  masked  turtle  but  had  graced  him  in  catching  Donnie’s  growing  midnight  habit . so ,  was  this  something  new ?  something  that  was  ongoing  but  plainly  oblivious  to  the  others ? the  late  night  hours  were  they  territory  free  roam  deal  above  ground  but  alone ?  now  what  kind  of  fun  would  that  be ? 

LEON  HAD  FOLLOWED  DONATELLO  TOPSIDE  ,  stopping  him  from  venturing  further  with  light  banter  that  only  urked  his  older  brother . yes ,  he  did  seem  to  vaguely  remember  his  genius  brother  telling  him  to  stay  put . however , Leo  was  too  curious  for  his  own  good  with  a  high  level  of  concern  propelling  him  to  disobey  automatically . his  arms  crossed  over  his  chest , eyes  in  an  intense  stare  down  at  the  purple  clad  turtle  and  huffed . 

“ pish  posh ,  my  dear  brother , and  miss  the  opportunity  to  spend  some  quality  time ? ” Leo  replied  jokingly  though  he  took  note  of  Donnie’s  eagerness  to  dismiss  him . he  ,  of  course ,  took  nothing  to  heed  and  followed . “ now  now  … you’ve  only  struck  my  curiosity  and  now  i  am  eager  to  know  why  you’ve  decided  to  run  a  solo  run  at  this  hour .  without  us  ?  without  me  ? i’m  serious  though ..  see ? i  didn’t  even  bring  my  skateboard  this  time .  super  serious . ”

       Who was he kidding...When was the last time the blue-bandana terrapin ever listen to him? He could tell him to do one of those ridiculous skate moves he’s always trying to crack his shell over and somehow, out of pure rebellion, he’d find a way to do the opposite! The night was still young but goodness he didn’t want to waste time arguing with Leo. He turned to float away but...

       He turned, hands cupping his cheeks. The idea seemed to excite Donnie with fake glee. “Wowza, really?! Am I finally gonna see the real, actual, legit, serious Leonardo? Gee willikers, I thought those things didn’t exist!” such a high and overly happy tone quicky sharpened back to normal, “Oh, wait it’s because they don’t...” he turned his shell to Leo once more, hovering over the edge of the building. Googles pulled over his hues as his optics scanned the area to make sure the coast was clear. “Go home, Leon.” satisfied, Donnie decided to leave his younger to whatever. He’d told him what to do and put it out of his mind as he glided down to the dumpster below. 

       It was tucked between two buildings. Enough space for a dump truck, or a looting turtle, to move in and out with ease. Why anyone would throw away tech still perplexed him. But hey, another man's trash was a terrapins source of supplies. Three digit pals rubbed together as he slowly landed in front of the treasure chest. “Come on, Papa needs a new hard drive!” it was always a gamble. Was he gonna get a smashed up monitor or a broken in half circuit board? Heck, if he could squeeze the Turtle Tank he’d take the entire load! For now, he had to be choosy and take what could be easily salvaged.  

      Metallic arms extended from his battle shell and lifted up the dumpster lids, allowing Donnie to begin shuffling inside.

hey let’s talk sibling headcanons for a second:

Donnie and Raph:

Donatello feels the closest to Raphael. 

I’ve said this before but I sort of see Donnie as like a sidekick to Raph. Like an ‘Alright Don, what do I do’ / ‘Well I have a couple of ideas here’

Donnie being rational and logical thinking might help Raph cool down from the irrational while on the flip side, Raph having a different perspective could help Donnie out of a rut. 

Donnie sees how great of a leader Raph can be. His brute strength, dedication, and boldness are good qualities he can stand behind and will support. 

Big turtle helps small, softer one. Totally can see Raph and Donnie staying close as kids all because Donnie was a lot more fragile as a child. Because of this, Donnie sees security in Raph.

Donnie and Leo:

Being the two middle turtles they bicker. Constantly. 

That and their humor is polar opposites: Leo being quippy and trying to be funny while Donnie is dry and sarcastic. Oil in water kinda deal. 

In no way does Donnie hate or love Leo any less. Leo just has a way of dancing all over his nerves and patience. Who knows, might be doing it because Donnie’s reactions are so funny or ‘just how much can I get away with this’. Least, that’s what Donnie thinks.

Trying to help Raph and Splinter, he constantly had to keep eyes on both Leo and Mikey at a young age. Since he wasn’t the oldest or the parent he might have felt some disrespect when it came to telling Leo to do something: ‘Hey, Dad wants you to clean your room’ / ‘Lol yeah right Don’ / ‘>:C’

Deep down, Donnie tries to find things to bond over and a middle ground with Leo. Just doesn’t always work out thus he gets frustrated quickly and gives up just as fast. 

Donnie and Mikey: 

Being the second oldest and youngest, there is some distance in their relationship. Not much, for the two would bond over creating and making things.

He wasn’t really allowed one on one time with his youngest brother due to how hyper and aggressively playful he could be. After S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, Don made sure to make up for lost play time. 

Unlike Leo, Donnie noticed Mikey would listen to him more often.

He feels a sort of protectiveness over Mikey much similar to how Raph was with him. He is the baby of the four.

The two of them totally sit together and listen to music while working on separate projects.
