She is a serval, and more importantly, an aerospace engineer. She likes space! I have a lot more info on her toyhouse page although some of it is a bit outdated.

This ref took almost 17 hours to make— uh— that’s a new record for me. I think it looks great though so oh well.

Falconstar!

This is a character from my Warrior Cats fanfic! She is the leader of DashClan (one of 3 Clans in the story; it's going to be renamed,,, eventually,,, sigh). We don't like her. She sucks, apparently

She starts a war and does other stuff, idk, it's spoilers lol

I always design the least important characters first ToT she's not a main character lmao (the MCs haven't been redesigned since like 2022)

JACKAL! ☀️

The second OC in my little AU world! Jackal is a young SandWing from the northeastern Sand Kingdom. He lives in a rocky region, sort of like the Wild West. He helps on his parents’ cattle ranch and herds cows! Which makes him technically a cowboy! >:D

He goes to JMSC, as does everyone in this story. At some point I’ll make a proper post about JMSC but not right now 😔

Anyway he has a red colouration because I think it’s neat and it looks kind of distinctive!! It’s sort of supposed to be for camouflage agains red sand/rocks but you could also say it’s from ancestral SkyWing hybridisation since he lives near the border. However his parents, grandparents, and so on are all pure SandWings. So he’s not really a hybrid.

I hope you people like him as much as I do! He is very cool imo :3

Anyway! Here is a WIP of the Jackal drawing! This one will of course take longer than Dawnwalker did because I've decided to actually line it, but that comes with the downside of being subject to my awful motivation. Lining is probably the most boring part of the process for me and it's where I'm the most likely to give up on a piece lol. Hopefully, posting it will give me incentive to finish this. We will see.

Speaking of posting, I'm currently thinking about posting schedules and frequency. I'll most likely aim for twice per week. Idk though bc this is very new ground for me.

An old WoF OC I redesigned today. Dawnwalker is a young male NightWing who's a character in the fan story I am very slowly working on: JMSC. More under the cut.

JMSC will get an explanation at a later-ish date, but basically it's just a story where Jade Mountain Academy is a summer camp instead (hence the 'SC' and not 'A'). He's part of the Amber Winglet (will explain the name in a later post as well). Besides that, I honestly don't have much info for you about him ToT

He has the gift of prophecy/foresight! His ability is pretty average-level, nothing fancy here.

Cosi concept!

I've been struggling to design my sona for about 7 months (since last October) and every time, I get a little closer, but never close enough to be satisfied. Here I'm happy with the yellow head and the hatching on the really dark markings, but I want to change up the rest of the markings a little -- make the teals more green, make the darker blue-purples less saturated, and so on.

I find that character design is always like this; lots of iterations, with little changes each time, some of which make it through to the next version, some of which don't. It's time consuming and tedious, but it makes my design work a lot better.

Especially for a sona, like this, where I have a very high standard because besides being readable and replicable, they also need to feel like me.

I've found that the main thing that makes me identify with a character is not their design but their story, so I've been working on Cosi's story/lore. I'll save the full explanation for when I make/finish their ref (in a billion years time) but the gist is that they're sort of a cryptid. Yippee

Anyway I need to do my work so bye bye (also sorry for being inactive :< I was on holidays for a while but I'm back and I might give Tumblr another shot but we'll have to see)
