wanted to talk ab this little detail in this scene that i find Sad

ragatha’s first instinct here was to panic and brace herself for some kind of verbal backlash because of the outburst earlier. pomni didn’t even sound mad or irritated in her delivery, but ragatha’s expression still 100% reads “she must be upset with me for yelling”

whoever said that her feigned optimism is a fawn response instead of toxic positivity hit the nail Right on the head i think.

Look, I like Ragatha as much as the next guy but to me, she’s a work friend. You talk to her at work but forget about her on the way home. She’s nice. Kind and caring but it’s obviously a coping mechanism, she’s trying way too hard to pretend everything’s alright. When Pomni said that she can think for herself it made me realize how much Ragatha was basically projecting her feelings through Pomni and I think that’s why she’s visibly bothered by seeing Jax and Pomni getting along. She’s been trying so hard to connect to Pomni only to see Jax do it effortlessly. Her having a controlling mother explains SOOO much about her behavior. She’s so nuanced I love it.

Growing up in a Polish-Immigrant family I was constantly being told “oh you’re a woman now you need to help out with the housework and assist your mother” and I think the focus on womanhood being intrinsically tied to housework made me not do those things as a form of rebellion. But now I think that had it been “you’re nearing adulthood and you need to contribute and pull your weight as a member of this house” I absolutely would’ve seen the value in that and not been such a contrarian. But when we assign tasks to gender and unfairly chastise kids on that front we are taking away from the message

First, they’re friendship is soooo dear to me

Second, I think Jax was kinda right about Ragatha. She IS trying too hard to appear like everything’s alright and there’s nothing wrong with acknowledging how fucked this situation is but at the same time, I feel like it’s not just jealousy but a deep rooted resentment that has been building towards Jax slowly getting reignited by seeing the person she’s been trying so hard to connect to simply becoming friends with the person she’s sees as running everything. I reckon she’ll do something. Not sure what, but she’ll do something that will end with either her or Jax abstracting.

Can you just imagine how awful Ragatha feel herself? She's trying to make basic friendship with Jax for YEARS. And instead of her, who was here literally from the very beginning, he chooses Pomni. AND POMNI ACCEPTS HIM AND IN THE END RAGATHA JUST STAYS ALONE

And no i didnt say Pomni just told to Ragatha to fuck off and now shes a besties with Jax. But just the fact shes able to built normal relations with this person that she herself just cant reach.. ugh

And I don't even know which one is worse for me

That shes the third wheel in their original pilot trio

That Pomni's relations with Jax is progressing better than hers

Or that she's just trying to fit in but failing miserably and being left alone by EVERYONE
