you’ll struggle to understand her. to understand what’s going on inside of her head. the night terrors that can’t be interrupted. to fight to hold her in your arms, to tell her it’s okay. to calm down. the kicking. the screaming. the anxiety of being harmed. the panic attacks, mood swings, confusion, disorganization. and all that rage, not just at you, but at herself. and the tough part is… you’ll feel as helpless to help her as she does herself. but if you remain calm and patient, if you listen closely, you’ll begin to understand her more. the counting, the repetition, the need for symmetry. that if you kiss her left cheek before bed, you have to kiss her right cheek. and her forehead. then her chin. that it’s about balance, stability. the need to organize her feelings and thoughts, so she can breathe easier. and there will be moments of relief… in her and in you.

Is Red Ilya or Katarina? A tale of two theories.
There is more to episodes 6.18 and 6.19 that meets the eye. Ambiguity. Reading between the lines required. Unfortunately. In true Blacklist fashion, the one answer leads to more questions still applies. My thoughts and questions below. (and comments posted from others as well in other platforms.
That said, ILYA being Red presents a whole lot of questions..
First off, Katarina is a bigger badass than Ilya could ever be. Lotte killed it in the episode. That’s my girl!
Dembe! I’m gonna miss him and I’m glad the writers didn’t have Red kill him. That would’ve been a huge mistake. Dembe is Red’s child, period.
And are we suppose to believe the writers have just gave us Red’s true identity? He’s Ilya, end of story, 6 year mystery solved?
How come Red was with Katarina in Cape May but Ilya wasn’t.?
What ever happened to Katarina? What did Ilya do to Katarina that Liz will never be ready to learn?
Why is a new random dude being introduced in Season 6? How did he know Kaplan?
When did Ilya put Masha in Kaplan’s arms?
And why would Ilya care one whit about proving the real RR’s innocence in a courtroom? That doesn’t make sense. Only Katarina would want to do that.
Why was Ilya’s face not shown when he went to get the money withdrawn? Why not show him getting surgery?
Katarina gave people new identies, like Red. Katarina kills people like Red. :)
When did Ilya make a colossal mess according to Dom?
If Ilya is Red, and Ilya made a promise to always care for Liz like his own, and protected Katarina, why is Dom angry at him?
Why did Ilya continue to be Raymond Reddington after the money was withdrawn? What is his motivation for becoming a criminal, building an empire, and how does Blacklist fit in?
Ilya is not shown having a family. Lest one who died in a Christmas tragedy in AMERICA or Maryland to be precise, he was from Russia working behind a desk. Clearly he was more preoccupied with the promise he and Kat made when they were six years old.
The plan to become Raymond Reddington was concocted in 1991 in that motel room. This disproves Red being the one and only Raymond Reddingtoon
Katarina and Ilya were romantically involved. This disproves Ilya being her brother.
Ilya showed no concern for OGRR being dead, he helped carry the body out. This was not his brother.
Dom spoke of his *child* not children. Further debunking the Red is Kat’s brother theory. Dom didn’t seem especially close to Ilya back in Russia.
Lizzington is debunked if Ilya is *allegedly* Red since there was a promise by Ilya to care for Masha as his own. His own child.
Ilya didn’t seem to know who Jennifer or Carla was, this debunks him ever being married to Carla.
Why would Ilya arrange for Carla and Jennifer to go into Witsec almost a whole year after Reddington’s disappearance?
“I never wanted you to be…like me”. coming from the random imposter. Sure.
JB saying Liz and Jennifer share a father but have different mothers should put to rest DG.
When did Dembe meet Katarina? Liz still reminds Dembe of Katarina.
Why did Red ask Dom to explain to him word for word the story told told to Liz? As if Red didn’t already know what transpired?
No burn marks on Katarina OR Ilya.
What did Ilya whisper to Kirk that shocked him?
Is it possible Ilya was just a FIGMENT? A character Dom brought to life like others have posted?
Zero indication Ilya knew Sam.
RR died in Katarina’s arms. He gone.
Ilya’s father had a wagooner just like Katarina’s father.
Did Katarina steal Ilya’s idea, killed him, and became Red herself?
Could Ilya still be alive?
When did Ilya make a Hobson’s choice?
Another thing that stands out to me is the numerous references Red has made to being angry in the early years. This Ilya guys doesn’t at all seem angry or resentful until like the gal destroying her hotel room (very Liz season 1 by the way).credit to Brittany on this one.
According to Kaplan Red’s presence in Liz’s life constitutes a danger. How is Ilya dangerous to Liz?
Danger. LOL.
Red aka Ilya was at Cape May (once, a long time ago)
Red seemed to not know what Liz was talking about when she mentioned Ilya
credit to: DJ, DZ, GN, BB, TC and AO to name a few. (from the Rederina group).
I think Katarina’s suicide attempt in Rassvet explains the speech in Cape May

I had such high hopes that Liz figures out Dom is her grandfather, but I just know, with all these promo pics being released, that's it's probably just her following up on Red visiting Dom.
