Minnesota Representative, Hortman and her husband were killed in what is believed to be a targeted act of political violence last night and Senator Hoffman and his wife weren shot multiple times by a man impersonating law enforcement. As of this time Hoffman and his wife are out of surgery and alive.

If you’re local to these affected areas and someone claiming to be police come to your door, it is advisable to dial 911 and confirm with dispatch that they are legitimate officers and not the impersonator.

I don’t know if it’s still happening but Brooklyn police were reported to be moving in pairs to avoid being confused for the impersonator who is as far as we are aware, alone.

Please, please, please if you are going to the protests across Minnesota today, be extra careful of anyone in uniform. Cops are already not our friends, but this is an added layer of unpredictable violence.

Urgent Mutual Aid Request!

Please help me keep the electricity and water running at my new apartment. It gets cut tomorrow and there's a ridiculous ~$300 fee to switch over the utilities! I really do not have the funds to do this. I also don't want to be without energy tomorrow. The stuff in the fridge will go bad. It's 110° outside rn and I'm not nearby any walkable stores (thankfully I am by the bus but I can hardly afford fare for that and I sometimes just walk anyways bc I have no choice). I'm freaking out about it just a bit.... Also if anyone is able to help with groceries or grocery delivery fees that would be extremely helpful. I still don't have a job but I am applying. Please help me survive my first month here!!!

I hate, hate, HATE the term “affordable housing.” I hate that we’ve normalized it. I hate that we just accept that the majority of housing, a basic human right, is unaffordable to much of the population. Housing should be affordable as a baseline. If rich people want to add arcades and gold-plated hot tubs on top so be it, but everyone, everyone, regardless of income level, should have access to a clean, comfortable home with enough light and space to make life worth living.

i also don't like it bc they're still transphobic + the only way I can be seen as who I am by them is if they make a mistake. and I don't want that. it's like doing a math problem wrong but somehow getting the right answer. you don't know what you're doing; you were just lucky enough to be right. but you're not always gonna be right. that's the issue.
