I know I'm no popular tumblr artist but I do have regulars on my blog and I NEED to spread awareness.

So much of Canada is currently on fire, and while the dots here don't seem too big, a lot of these are either highly populated areas or more remote areas where people cannot safely evacuate.

Most of the fires are out of control and large. Many people, especially those in small towns or reservations, cannot evacuate either at all or safely.

When Los Angeles was on fire, there was support from Canadian firefighters, donation drives, and celebrity events to raise awareness. For this I've seen no one but the news and a few tiktok videos with 40 likes. It's being ignored. Please share this, whether you're Canadian or not.

I hope anyone near or in these places is safe and well. If I find any donation/support links, I'll share them here.

Tangara Update!!

I figured out the SD card issue, it wasn't in the sd card holder correctly. The message board said you have to cram it into the holder so hard it feel like you're gonna break it and they were not kidding. BUT only about 1/3 of the music I put on the sd card actually shows up IN the Tangara? So Im not sure what thats about, BUT the message board said you can put music on the Tangara with a USB card like a regular ipod so maybe ill try that next.

other thoughts - the click wheel is very UNsensitive. (So it doesn't click, it does a little vibrate instead of a click.) Sometimes it feels like you have to hit the buttons a couple times. Like a un-sensitive touchscreen

-the "back" button is different than an ipod. Instead of just hitting the left arrow, you have to scroll ALLLL the way back up to the top where there is a back button.

-Because of those 2 reasons, it works best if you wanted to just set up a long playlist to listen to. It doesnt work as well if want to quickly switch between albums/playlists

OK SO tangara update. I got a SD card, put music on it, put it in the Tangara aaaaaaaand.... it just keeps saying there is no SD card in there. And I dont really know what to do about that.

Idk if its just the brand of SD card? Or if i didnt put the music files on there correctly?? (which i dont think theres a wrong way? Im pretty sure you just drag and drop)

i'll defend fanfic for my whole life. like the joy it brings is genuinely transformative and indulgent in a way unique to the genre. it isn't meant for a market, it isn't meant to be sold or marketed. it is born out of such care and passion for a media that one must write and must share it, so other folks can enjoy it to. for no other reason than love and joy. do you know how special that is? especially in our current social and political climate.
