What is SRTMOO, you might ask?

SRTMOO is an online roleplaying game inspired by the Super Robot Wars series of video games! Taking place in a combined setting that draws from more than 50 years of mecha and giant hero properties, it chronicles a world's shaky journey to the stars.,

SRTMOO is in its fourth year since opening in January of 2022, in "Phase 2, Turn 2" of a long-term cycle set to run 3-4 Phases, each consisting of between three and six Turns and occasional 'Special Disc' periods that allow a little cooldown and theme maintenance.

We're currently running a little low on personnel, and are holding a recruitment drive to bolster our numbers!

SRTMOO is a game run in the "MU" system of online chat-based RP by @yurimobilefort.bsky.social. We have a custom battle system, called "Kantaisen" that allows for turn-based combat replicating the actual feel of an SRPG. The opportunities for play and interaction in it are virtually endless!

SRTMOO has a large and diverse cast of appable characters puled from mecha anime, manga, video games, and tokusatsu. Passion is the #1 requirement for playing a character! If you love them, that's what counts. Furthermore, SRTMOO offers a variety of ways to modify and alter the canon path of characters and stories! Interested in making queer subtext just text? beyond being an irritating sign of how sex-negative society at large is, "ugh this writer has a fetish!" is very much just a specific form of the general observation that writers tend to have recurring fixations. those recurring fixations can be anything from an incredibly broad theme like grief to just some really random object like skeletons and yet the only one people ever get up in arms over is when the focus of that fixation is overtly (or even just implicitly) sexual. nobody ever says "ugh! terry pratchett explored a relevant political issue through fantasy tropes again! evil man!" because that would be laughable. but god forbid one guy be a little bit into feet.

I think "slop" is a strong contender for world of the year 2025, as it seems to be universally recognizable as a description for the majority of output produced in the name of Return on Investment.

Sure it means algorithmically generative slop now, but look at housing construction, durable appliances, food, automobiles, you name it and tell me it's not just more slop. If enshittification is the process, slop is the result.

Do you think an aa7 is possible without retconing or ignoring most of SoJ?

In a lot of cases I am really not a fan of when series try to fix missteps by retconning or ignoring them unless it is literally such a huge deviation in the first place that doing so is the only way to make a return to form make sense. As frustrated as I am with the last 2 mainline games, I don’t think anything they introduce to the series is unsalvageable and actually I think the reason we got into this mess in the first place is because of the desire to ignore stuff for the sake of making an individual game stand alone. I would much rather they face the challenge head on, because by being forced to use the pieces that are already there in interesting ways you can potentially create something that would be so much more compelling than just starting from status quo again.

It drives me CRAZY that all of the mech posting on this site calls upon tropes and concepts of mech pilots that quite literally do not exist ANYWHERE. Like wtf are you talking about. I can only think of literally one piece of media where mech pilots are treated as subhuman, why do you think this is a lynchpin of the genre - and I know nothing like that happens in AC6 so AGAIN wtf are you talking about
