doooooo not worry angel !! it's happened before ... the monster in my inbox who eats asks and i have CRAZY beef . i’m legitimately SO excited to have received this ask because i actually will take any excuse to hype up the amazing writers and friends i have made on this website . couldn’t narrow this down because i’m clinically insane so i picked one fic for every driver i write for (two for oscar SORRY i refuse to pick !) <3 recs under the cut, PLEASE read all of these !!! these writers deserve all of the love :~)

THEEEEE smau to me. and the first one i ever read that made me understand how to effectively use the social media format to convey a nuanced and complex story! i wish with all my soul that my work will ever reach even half the humor, characterization, and heart that nessie put into every chapter of this fic. it is such a lovely warm read. downbad oscar piastri you are SO very dear to me.

ENEMIES TO LOVERS MY FAV TROPE OF ALL TIME YESSSSSS. and even better… when they were never really enemies at all ?? and even BETTER… when they’re forced to FAKE DATE ???? it’s genuinely like this fic was made in a lab for me. but also, ivy, your writing is phenomenal. you have such a gift for capturing small moments and making them feel significant and perfect, and each word choice feels poetic. i adore this fic and everything you write !!!!!

my favorite fic of all time, in any fandom, in any genre. tara’s writing is genuinely arresting - every sentence has the kind of wording you can’t stop thinking about long after you read it. she also writes lando in a way that really truly understands him. “you make me want to write poetry but all i know how to do is drive” will live in my brain rent free for the rest of time. this FIC makes me want to write poetry tara!! if only i could do it like you <3

lightning is THEEEE lewis writer okay … i could have put any fic of theirs in this spot but this is my personal favorite!!! i’m just a sucker for a band au in general but the framework of this fic is so unique and as always, lightning’s writing flows SO well. conversational and visceral at the same time, no words wasted. simple and stunning and beautiful to read. i can’t wait for part 2 of this one.

user snoopyracing… you actually don’t know this, but this was the first f1 fic i ever read and one that inspired me to write for myself. i’d been a fan of f1 for a while, and tumblr suggested your work on my dash. i am soooo glad it did because genuinely? this piece should be a novel! i would have legitimately paid to read it and you’re giving it to me for free??? crazy work. childhood friends to lovers is very very dear to me and this is the trope at its best !!!

uni!george russell when i catch you uni!george russell… literally what can i say that hasn’t already been said about this fic. by me. many times over. i'll start with: birdy is SUCH a talent and this fic is them at their best !!! the world is immediately immersive, it's such a cool smau format done so well, and the fic is just funny as hell !!! like i laughed out loud multiple times. then cried. then laughed again. one of the only fics on this site that i’ve reread multiple times since it came out. it’s everything to me. 

yuki - love at first flight by @tsunodaradio

you know it had to be kae here !! i could have legitimately put their entire masterlist on here for any driver but here i am… having restraint… anyway this is THEEEE yuki fic to me. reader has such an immediate and charming personality and yuki. oh yuki is so perfectly characterized in this that i could cry. sweet and sharp and so, so delicious !!!

max - the strawberry wine series by @scuderiahoney

absolute top tier max characterization and the writing is genuinely beautiful. it’s all about the details in this fic and the details are so absurdly well thought out and touching that i could reread it over and over again and probably discover new ones every time. balances angst and fluff soooo well and the relationship between max and reader is so authentic and beautiful

eve is one of the most insane writers on this site like EVERYTHING she writes is such a joy to read for me. each fic is always FILLED with humor and she is so so smart about what she reveals and keeps hidden. i loved this smau so much and the relationships between reader, isack, and her friends felt so lived in and REAL!!! the breakup??? so in character. the (eventual) makeup (sorry i’m spoiling)??? EARNED. i want eve’s pepe marti to give me relationship advice. everyone feels like they could be my best friend <3

carlos - three billion girls (yet i want you) by @musicallisto

i’m really not even a carlos girl (nor am i really a fan of angst!) but this fic legitimately changed my life and altered my brain chemistry. the redshift blueshift metaphor ALONE blows anything i have ever come up with out of the water. and the writing. oh the writing is dripping with longing and heartbreak and poetry. it is so so beautiful. i am voyager and this fic is my jupiter !!!! i will be orbiting it forever
