WHEN ABRAHAM LINCOLN WAS UNSURE WHETHER OR NOT HE WAS PREPARED TO MAKE A STAND AGAINST SLAVERY, HARRIET TUBMAN BASICALLY SAID HE SHOULD STOP BEING SUCH A DIAPER BABY AND THAT GUYS WHO ARE TOO SCARED TO END SLAVERY DON’T DESERVE TO WIN WARS.

Seeking artist for a weekly webcomic (paid)

Hi! My boyfriend is not a tumblr-r but I am and I offered to boost this here to help him find an awesome artist to take part in a project that he wants to get started!

Seeking artist for comedy oriented web comic! I’m a huge movie geek/nerd writer person and I’m looking for a geek/nerd artist person to do a weekly web comic about the exploits of myself and my friends as we navigate through life and our love of the movies (mix of fantasy and reality all commenting on the industry). Must be able to draw reasonably accurate portrayals of celebrities and actual people, be passionate and above all have a sense of humor. This is a paid gig for a weekly comic strip ranging from 3 to 5 panels. as a neurodivergent & physically disabled person, i’m not interested in any kind of mental health stigma awareness that throws physically disabled people under the bus, especially those awful “what if mental illnesses were treated like physical ones!” messages.

believe it or not, but physically disabled people are told a bunch of the different examples in those messages. we are told that our lives will get better if we’re more positive, we are told that we shouldn’t rely on medication, we are told that we are overreacting, we are told that other people have it worse, etc etc.

my experience with mental illness stigma is very similar to my experience with disability stigma, and i’m tired of able-bodied people saying things like this, especially because of the high comorbidity between mental and physical disorders.
