The Current State of This Blog

Keen observers may have noticed that this blog hasn't been active for weeks. The answer is simple: I'm just not as obsessed with Bugsnax as I used to be. There's no really serious reason, my fixation has simply run its course and I don't have anything left to post these days.

I'm not sure what I want to do with my blog anymore. I don't want to delete it outright; there are too many good memories I've had with this blog. But I don't know if I want to keep it any longer if I don't use it as often as I did. The most realistic scenario is that I'll probably password-protect it once I feel I no longer have any use for it.

There are things I want to do on my other Bugsnax-related sideblogs that I want to make sure I finish, but as of today, consider this the start of this specific blog's indefinite hiatus. Maybe if I start fixating on Bugsnax again, this blog will become more active again, but for now, I don't think I'll be posting very often anymore.

If anyone wants to keep up with me in spite of this blog’s hiatus, I’m decently active on my main blog @ojamajodoremisharp. I’m also making an effort to try and be more active on my art blog @fizzlecosmos, so if you wanna keep up with my art-related escapades, that’d be the blog to follow.

That's it for me. This post will replace my previously pinned post in an attempt to provide an explanation for anyone wondering what happened to my blog. I'd like to thank everyone for the good times I've had and for making such a positive impact during my time in the fandom, but now I think it's time to move on. Maybe we'll cross paths again one day, maybe not.

Last year, I set up a poll to see which version of Bugsnax is the most commonly played in the fanbase. Well, it’s almost been a year since then, and I figured the mobile port has been out long enough I could make an updated version of the poll, to see what’s changed since then.

Recently, I’ve been thinking an awful lot about Bronald, mainly how him being Wambus and Triffany’s biological son contradicts some headcanons I have. So, I figured out the easiest solution to this problem: he’s now their adoptive son! And boy, does that have great potential for some good ol’ fashioned drama.

To make a long story slightly shorter, Wambus and Triffany adopted Bronald when he was just an egg. Born to a couple who had him when they were too young to assume parental responsibilities, Bronald spent most of his childhood believing he'd always been Wambus and Triffany's son. Eventually, he figures it out on his own, but don't worry. It all works out just fine.

However, that doesn’t really stop him from having his doubts. His disconnect with Triffany, and especially with Bronica's legacy, does a number to his confidence and self-esteem. So it's a kind of win-lose: even though he has loving adoptive parents, he feels he'll always disappoint them, no matter what.

…eh, that’s mostly just melodramatic jargon. It’s not 100% concrete as of right now, but I’m happy to at least have this down on paper.
