Modern fandom went awry when people stopped learning how to avoid content that upsets them and instead starting actively seeking it out.

I mean this in the kindest, most loving way possible, but babes you'll be so much happy when you stop focusing on what other people are doing and instead focus on what you like.

You'll never be able to stop people from liking what you hate, and the best way you'll find any peace of mind is properly utilizing blocking, blacklisting, and muting tools. Take it from someone who used to run a shipping discourse blog, fandom is supposed to be what you enjoy, stop focusing on things that upset you.

Honestly, exactly.

I was so caught off guard by the change but I’m honestly really excited to see where the story goes next. Now there are elements even book readers have not seen before, it keeps us all on our toes and I love that.

Not to mention, this is like Rick’s ‘perfect’ vision of the story. How often do authors get the ability to look back on their first book and make every change they might’ve always wanted to make. Place every bit of foreshadowing and lay every line perfectly so things pan out even better. I think it’s a great opportunity that Rick has here and I’m excited to see what he does.

And about the Di’Angelos, remember how old they are? Nico is 10 currently and Bianca is 12. They don’t show up for 3 more books, that’s like 5-6 more years (tv time). They would need to cast a child who will look the same now as they will in 5 ish years in order to keep the same actor. Anyways, I’m pretty sure I heard Bianca’s name and I’m perfectly happy if that’s all I get.

All in all, it was a really good and entertaining episode in my opinion. And I’m excited to see next week’s (personal prediction, the Ares fight won’t be til the last episode, Percy will challenge Ares and then the screen will cut to black and roll credits, just a dramatic guess I could see happening).

I'm starting to lose it with my fellow pjo book fans. Specifically about the pearls.

Have we lost the ability to think critically??? First of all,this is an adaptation,things are going to be different. Secondly, Percy has already had an instance (with the pen, albeit temporarily) of losing things, AND accidentally (with the spear) breaking things???

Literally the moment I saw four my first thought was "Well, one of those isn't making it to Hades."...... Like what??? And even if it does.... So what??? This is an adaptation. It's not going to be exactly like the books. Those fuckers are old. Not ancient but hey, times change and the next gen/People who didn't catch it the first time around deserve to be able to enjoy it the way we did.

Also, about the deadline shit:

This a.) Creates more tension cause now there is a war happening (which like.... I think is a cool element), And b.) It further cements these kids desire to do good and to be better than their parents. Which..... Yk..... Is kinda a major point in this story???

(specifically: they now have no real incentive to do this. They SHOULD just go home. But they actively choose 'No, we are better than this, and we can still fix it'. Hubris may not be their fatal flaw, but my god is it what makes them human, and what cements that they are still just kids! This is a great addition imo)

There needs to be tension. This will, Inevitably create it. There is still so much to go. And Rick is notorious for monkey wrenching shit. Hold fast y'all, for fucks sake.

Anyway, I personally loved episode six. I love the change in the deadline having passed, and the four pearls.... The lighting kinda sucked ass, and there weren't any super obvious cameos of the Di'Angelos but hey. It is what it is.

But seriously guys, let's think critically and not let our nostalgia cloud our judgement of this. Kill the cop in your head. Fr.

Thank you! I tell people I have a disability (I specifically get vestibular migraines) and some people look at me funny.

It disables me, it requires me to sometimes need medication and accommodations. Certain environments make it worse. It’s absolutely a disability! Invisible disabilities are real, and disability is a spectrum of things, no two disabilities are identical, it’s just a label!

that’s chronic pain. that’s specifically the type of chronic pain I’m referring to.

and I’m absolutely not mad at those people, not in the slightest, but I’m furious at everyone and society as a whole that’s convinced them that they don’t count, that chronic migraines aren’t a genuinely debilitating form of chronic pain and disability.

migraines are chronic pain and have significant impacts on your life and you deserve to have that validated and not brushed off as “other people have it worse” or “not a real disability.”

Minimalism is so boring (in my opinion, of course some people may love it). I want my walls and shelves lined with statues and plants and books. I want my house to feel lived in and like a home, not a cold bland cage.

I’ve never had a show encapsulate how I feel in such a perfect way. And though Isaac and I had different journeys to discovering this, what he went through feels so familiar and it’s so comforting to see this done well.
