nothing makes me want to scream like seeing someone i follow who's not from the us reblog an absolutely insane post about us politics with a little note about how it's useful/important information
#actually a lot of things make me want to scream right now let's be real#but this got me today#if your reaction to a post about something you know nothing about is 'oh wow really?'#you should maybe consider not spreading absolute garbage across the internet

Now I get it. Anne Shirley was right; sometimes pretending you’re an exiled princess fallen from her state or a wealthy criminal who’s decided to take a minimum wage job to evade detection IS the only way to get through the work day

30-Song Guess Your Age Quiz
Fwiw, they thought I was MANY years younger than I am. Just made me feel good all over. 😊

I've had mixed feelings about this user, but this is a good thread that gives good perspective. Imagine living during the Civil War. People didn't know when it would end, and if there would even still be a United States afterwards. They couldn't see into the future. It would've been reasonable for people to fall into despair. But despite all of the failures of Reconstruction, all these years later, we're still here. Americans then didn't know where they'd be by the end of 1865, and we don't know where we'll be by the end of 2028-2029.

oh the dynamic is 100% accurate. just heavily weighted (in my extremely biased opinion) towards the ED (for obvious reasons given who the main characters are)
i kind of want to see an episode of the pitt where they act like the ED at my hospital
just saying, they wouldn’t look so cool and competent if they were calling surgery every time they had a subcutaneous abscess they were too scared to drain
#the pitt#greys anatomy just eliminated ED doctors all together which i always thought was a wasted opportunity#anyway garcia receiving a call along the lines of ‘no i can’t tell you the patient’s exam because i haven’t actually seen them yet myself’#would be an accurate representation of the emotions of your average consult resident#(in a lot of hospitals with residents there is one singular resident at a time who is responsible for every surgical consult called#which means that every ED doctor who wants to consult surgery is calling them directly)#(and also every other doctor who wants to consult surgery)#(it’s a godawful job)

By "where you were born" I mean the home you lived in as a newborn, not the hospital

#consults make me hate everyone#even when I’m just supervising the person actually holding the pager#the pitt#listen i’m sure there are very competent ED physicians out there#i just haven’t had the pleasure of working with very many of them#(it’s also just how my hospital system functions they are encouraged to think as little as possible and just move people through)
