Hoping and praying frfr

On the Beast Yeast theming thing again, my other hope is that Silent Salt and White Lily have Arthurian Legend/Celtic Folklore themes. Credit to my moot @/darkfluffydragon, they pointed out how there’s a lake in their territory (Kala Namak is a type of black salt) so it could be a Lady of the Lake situation, and personally there’s also ample room for parallels between SS being King Arthur and White Lily being Morgan Le Fey, just a reverse version of them. Outside of Morgan, Arthurian Legend has depictions fae involvement: for example the Lady of the Lake is depicted as either human or fae, and the Fae world has also been in tales with Gawain and Percival, two of his round table knights.

This is also just a hc/hope of mine but I also hope SS is themed after a/the Dullahan. They’re a headless rider who mounts a black horse, carrying their head in their hand and a spine whip in the other. They’re sometimes classified as being an Unseelie fae, which would fit nicely in theme with Lily imho, and on top of that, a common way I see the Dullahan drawn are with billowing flames or smoke coming from the stump of their neck. We have no idea if Salt has anything under their helmet, but with how smoke/flame pours out from behind their helmet like a ponytail/feathers, it could just be because the helmet contains the flames inside it right??

BUT then there is the question of where SS’s head would be, which yeah idk, but the Dullahan hc/theory is too fun to pass up imho. As someone who likes Celtic folklore and was ecstatic to see crk fae, I hope we get more references!

I like to think she’s still a pony, fast on her hooves, and very shy/suspicious of new people. She wouldn’t like Butter Tiger or Pitaya for a hot minute, but she’ll warm up to them over the course of the saga. Also, she’s probably de-armored early on, because it’d give away the runaways’s identities wherever they went! Knight wanted to protest, but he knew Princess had a point. His pony still gets a new skirt though

oh yeah, it sometimes happens to me. It automatically unlikes the post on mobile! Not every time tho. I also sometimes forget I have already reblogged a post lol. But it shouldn't be happening like that? When it happens to me it happens right away and isn't delayed to the next day.

Does anyone else get a notification of the same tumblr user liking the same post(s) every day?

I've had this happen a couple of times, and I can't tell if the user is bugged, or they're genuinely manually liking the same set of posts every single day. For example, I'll check notifications, and I'll see that [user A] liked [post A] and [post b], and then the next day or so, I'll see again that [user A] liked [post A] and [post b].

I don't want to block them because I don't know if they're aware of it and it's instead a tumblr issue

To me, PVs shared symbolism probably stems from the fact that both PV and the chruch (historically) are healers.

In real life, the chruch have served as medical aid for a long, long time. I have no doubts that the st. Pastry order have done healing stuff too. But thats my take.

from what I can tell, Doughael, or at least the cookie that would become them, is a former disciple of pure vanilla.

He went to the ruins of the vanilla Kingdom and not only kneeled, but prayed to PV.

Then he made a cult with Pure Vanilla as it's God

I mean... why else would he base himself off of him? Speaking of the truth, becoming a healer whom could guide others.

Why else did the Avatar of destiny, the symbol of the order and it's God, look like pure vanilla?

I think, that it was the high forkbearer himself who opened the rift, in an attempt to revive Pure Vanilla...

I mean think about it, he obviously knew the guy back before the dark flour war, and afterwards, pure vanilla was basically thought to be dead...

Obviously, being the devoted follower he is, Doughael planned to sacrifice all of cookie kind to resurrect his lost master...

So I was ready to say “as cool as an image as that is, I’m actually not sure if I agree”, but after doing some digging and theory reading… maybe?

While I think Pure Vanilla left some impression on them, I am still skeptical about the idea that the beginnings of the Pastry Order directly stemmed from Pure Vanilla and his teachings. There’s a chance Doughael admired him, but I see it more as a muse than an idol. Pure Vanilla sought the truth in everything, and Doughael might’ve been inspired to search for the truth in their own way. The Avatar of Destiny is possibly made in PV’s image yes, but Doughael projected onto it from the very beginning. It’s hard to tell where the Pure Vanilla inspiration ends and the zealous witch-worship begins, I think.

It even looks like the Avatar of Destiny was already a thing in this picture. Perhaps not as it’s seen in the story, but something similar? Some people say that’s Pure Vanilla they’re kneeling to, but that looks more like the AoD to me. Who knows?

I don’t think Doughael opened the rift though, I’m pretty sure it was DE but I could be wrong

Anyway, what I’m basically trying to say is that I believe this theory to an extent, but I don’t think all of it is true. Perhaps Doughael’s AoD was made in PV’s image, because both PV and AoD are truth seekers. Doughael probably revered Pure Vanilla and saw themself in him too. But I’d hesitate to say the St. Pastry Order spawned from direct Pure Vanilla worship (there’s also the loose end of Silent Salt, who could also be related via the Book of Salt that Seltzer mentions… and if so, that means the Pastry Order might be older than Pure Vanilla himself. So what do we take from it?)

That being said, I would love to figure out how this translates to my au 🙏 it would be SO funny if after all this time of saying Wafer’s the most downbad, Doughael steps in and one ups him with how down atrocious they are. Also if Doughael DOES still like Pure Vanilla, this whole cult conflict could potentially end in a friendlier way than I first thought. which is great for Saint and co, but horrible for literally everyone else on earthbread

Animated using Clip Studio Paint with lighting edits done in After Effects and slight tweaking in Camtasia! It was my first time trying out After Effects and it thoroughly kicked my butt. However, for a first try, I'm quite proud of how it turned out :)
