just started rewatching lockwood and co for the fourth time and all i feel is overwhelming sadness over its cancellation AND overwhelming, extremely strong love for the characters, the cast, the world building of lockwood and co, and just how intensely i wish i was apart of their universe instead of this one (me and escapism are like this 🤞). and on another note i haven’t yearned intensely to live in the same universe as my favorite fictional characters since percy jackson and i’ve been a fan since of that since third grade i believe. and i’m 19 now. so. yeah. i think this world kinda might stick with me for a good long while now.!

Hello to all the fans of Lockwood and co! It pains me to see several people trying to attack other fans, complaining that they have become uncomfortable on Tumblr because of the amazing company to save the show! They are angered by several posts a week with a reminder for fans to sign a petition or hashtags. They say it makes them feel obligated to something or their job.

I understand that sometimes it is very difficult to accept that the fandom is changing. It gets bigger, noisier and you don't always get what you want. The show and the books are mixed up and nothing can be done about it. I'm sorry that some fans can't accept these changes and are leaving. However, I am very concerned that some people are trying to attack other fans of the show. My heart still cries that several great writers left our fandom just because some people were angry at the way Lucy is described in fics. They demanded that Lucy be described as not beautiful and full in fics. They couldn't accept that everyone could have their own vision of Lucy. They were annoyed that some fiction writers were inspired by Ruby's appearance and demanded to separation book!Lucy and show!Lucy. It was very rude. I won't say the names, but I know you're reading this. You should know that you are disgusting. Because of you, some authors have removed their fics and accounts from ao3.

And now some people are demanding to stop writing about saving the show, because they are not comfortable with a couple of posts a week! What's wrong with you? Why are you doing this? Why do you think that only you should be comfortable? I'm not on other social networks, but Tumblr is my home. And I'm grateful that there are people who direct and coordinate other fans so that we can help save the show. Unfortunately, I am a passive fan and very rarely participate in activities. But I am grateful that there are people who can suggest or remind me what can be done for the show. And I can choose what I can, or do nothing. It's not a job or an obligation. I only do what I'm comfortable with and never do what I don't want to.

You say that we have books and the first season and we should be content with what we have. I'm very grateful that we have books and show, but I don't understand why everyone should be happy with just that? It's normal that someone is fighting for the continuation of the show, and someone refuses to fight. This happens in any fandom, and I am very sorry that someone feels uncomfortable because of this. But we are all fans and everyone has the right to express our love, even if it's just a post about a petition. If you don't like it, you can just:

1) ignore it;

2) block a user who makes you feel uncomfortable;

3) Set up Tumblr the way it suits you.

But what you CAN'T do is ask people to give up the fight or demand to stop writing about saving the show because it annoys you. No one should feel unwelcome here. Please, no one is taking books from you and we can still discuss this. We can also exist together and not interfere with each other. But if someone can't come to terms with the fact that people continue to fight for the continuation of the show, it's fine if you want to leave for a while. Unfortunately, your problem cannot be solved, and negativity will not help.

I also want to thank the people who are involved in saving the show. You are wonderful and your work is invaluable! You have achieved a lot, and I am sorry that you had to face such a misunderstanding. Please, let's keep fighting for the show! Also, if someone doesn't want to fight, that's fine! It's okay, you don't have to do this. It's not a job or anything.

No, I don't feel it. On the contrary, I like the hype. And I don't understand your claim. Is someone forcing you to work? You know, if you don't like the post, you can just skip it. What is your problem?

To be honest, it's your post that makes me feel bad. Everyone has the right to write any posts. And this is the first time I've ever met someone trying to control what other people are doing. I have been in the fandom for many years, and I see that some fans of the books are against the show and against the campaign. If you have problems with the show, then I don't think you can be helped.

I want the campaign to continue and I am eternally grateful to the people who are trying their best to save our little show! I am very proud that we have an amazing and cozy fandom where everyone can find a place for themselves. And I'm sorry that some people have problems with scrolling posts and blocking accounts that write "spam". Wouldn't that be easier than attacking other fans to make Tumblr convenient just for you?

This post broke my heart. You brought negativity by trying to ban people from writing about saving the show. This is not normal. Maybe it's easier for you to just ignore the campaign and just scroll the posts that you don't like and not attack other fans? This is a terrible situation. And it pains me to see that some old book fans are attacking the fans of the show now (some people are haters of the show). I understand that some people want only them to be comfortable, but fandom doesn'T work that way. We should all feel comfortable. And wars only make it worse for the fandom, the author and the creators of the show.

hey guys so i’ve noticed something recently. (i’ve noticed it for a while but i think it’s time to say something) ever since lockwood and co was cancelled, everyone has made such a valiant effort to get netflix to notice the fandom and to pick it up again (or at least get someone else to do it) and that’s wonderful and all, but does anyone else feel like this fandom has become almost a job to be here. sign this petition, contribute to this thing, all to get netflix to notice us, but is this really the point of the fandom? i mean, jonathan stroud has already given us the rest of the series. is that not enough? the point of fandoms are for people to have fun and to discuss and interact with people who’s interests lie with their own. the lockwood and co fandom, since the cancellation, is literally JUST about getting people to notice it so it gets renewed. but honestly, anyone who would want the petition signed has already signed it. this is wishful thinking but i just wish that people could focus on what we already have, which is a great show and an incredible book series, and just appreciate it like we did before the cancellation. anyways. that’s all. i just wanted to get this out here and see if anyone else felt the same way. i’m not ungrateful in any way because i really do love this fandom. i just want people to have fun with it rather than having it feel like a chore. ok love yall byeeee
