Mental Health Advocacy
Boogie claims to suffer from a myriad of mental health issues, and as the issue affects him personally, he has often referred to himself as a mental health advocate. In 2018, he said that he’d been talking about depression and anxiety his entire life. Similar to his body positivity however, there are many instances of behavior that make him unsuitable and hypocritical in this role.
What is a Mental Health Advocate?
This term is quite common and often seen as a throwaway term, however it does have a certain definition. As taken from PsychCentral, the following definitions are commonly used.
Therese Borchard defines a mental health advocate as “anyone who is a voice for those suffering from depression, anxiety, or any other disorder—who hopes to disseminate a message of hope and support.”
Similarly, [Jennifer] Marshall said it’s “someone who learns how to take the best care of their mental health and shares openly about their story to help others.”
According to T-Kea Blackman, an advocate is “a change agent,” “someone who educates his [or] her community on mental health, reduces the stigma and fights for change in the behavioral system.”
Sally Spencer-Thomas, PsyD, thinks of advocacy as a “spectrum of engagement” from allies to activists. An ally is someone who feels connected to challenging the discrimination and prejudice related to mental illness, but might not act on their feelings. An advocate uses their voice to encourage change. An activist “engages in intentional action to move change along—getting people organized, moving legislation, changing policy.”
The common thread here, is that a while a mental health advocate may or may not have a mental illness themselves, a mental health advocate should advocate on behalf of others, spread support, and encourage change in structures that cause difficulty for the mentally ill.
How often has Boogie done those things? There are many cases of him threatening suicide, or using his own suicide as an onus to make people more friendly towards him, but Boogie has never visited a mental hospital, volunteered at a soup kitchen, or elevated the voices of those suffering mental illness worse than him.
Insulting the mentally ill: Boogie has often chosen to use mental illnesses as insults, which can do considerable damage to the reputation of mentally ill people, as well as making them feel unsafe around him. He has a bad habit of throwing around terms like ‘insane’ and ‘crazy’ as insults, but also suggesting that those who believe him are ‘sane’. More specific examples are as follows.
He referred to himself as a ‘sperglord’.
He has referred to his politics as ‘the logical sane middle’.
When playing a game with someone, he mocked a teammate for having divorced parents and claimed this means he would have anger issues.
When people commented on the insensitivity of laughing at his girlfriend’s death, he defended himself by claiming that he was joking.
Around the same time that Boogie changed his Twitter bio to read ‘mental health advocate’, he was still using mental illnesses as an insult for people he disliked. In the case of Frank Hassle, Boogie repeatedly called him a ‘sociopath’, while ironically threatening his life and saying he would enjoy killing him.
Promotion of BetterHelp: Boogie was one of several YouTubers who pushed the ‘BetterHelp’ therapy site. However, this website was criticized in the media for charging mentally ill people for unlicensed therapists, and for YouTubers profiting off their viewers’ depression. After Keemstar criticised the company, Boogie said he would defend his decision to defend BetterHelp. Later, Boogie was criticized for it on the Killstream, and he said “I don’t ask questions like this”, and blamed his ‘brand manager’ for his decision.
Boogie quickly rescinded support, blaming Philip DeFranco for his decision. He continues to promote BetterHelp however, claiming to use it 6 times a week.
Etika: When Etika, a known sufferer of depression, went missing, many suggested suicide, Boogie joked that he and McJuggerNuggets would be murdered by him. Boogie also compared himself to Etika, saying that he (unlike Etika) was a ‘titan of strength’.
After Etika’s suicide was confirmed, Boogie would praise his own mental fortitude over Etika’s for not killing himself, which was criticized for making the situation about himself. He would apologize for his ‘joke’, but also downplay the fact he had said Etika would murder him.
When confronted with evidence that Keemstar had harassed Etika before his suicide, Boogie said “i'm sure keem didnt' mean anything about it though.  dude's a good dude“, and would continue to associate with Keemstar.
In an extended monologue, Boogie would continue to center himself in Etika’s tragic suicide, by claiming his Vidcon Suicide threats were a ploy to ‘signal boost’ Etika’s suicide, and that his own death would be more meaningful than Etika’s as he had a bigger channel. He blamed Keemstar’s harassment for the death, but emphasized that his own ‘harassment’ is worse.
Generally Callous towards mental illness: Boogie has also acted uncaring towards the suicidal on many occasions. He mocked the suicide victim featured by Logan Paul. When criticized for these jokes, he would insult the fan, and claim it is a coping mechanism. When a young fan claimed Boogie made him feel suicidal, Boogie told him ‘life is meaningless’. Boogie faked a suicide attempt right after VidCon, where he told everyone who would listen that he was planning suicide. Whether this was done in comedy or sincerity is definitely incredibly insensitive.
When a longtime and loyal Boogie fan recounted his life pain, Boogie, irritated that the conversation was not centered on him, dismissed the pain with the non-sequitur ‘pussy farts’. When Boogie’s mentally ill friend died, he centered himself and used his death as a prop for views. Boogie would also often often vaguely threaten bad news to try and encourage people to show concern for him.
Boogie has also often diagnosed his critics as being mentally ill, such as calling a critic ‘broken’ for gently criticizing him, or diagnosing Frank Hassle as sociopathic. In a conversation with friend TheQuartering, Boogie described him as a ‘psychopath’.
Lack of Knowledge: Despite claiming to have several mental health issues, Boogie has made several wrong statements about mental health, encouraged negative behavior, and disparaged professionals. His interpretation of ‘disassociation’ has drawn a lot of criticism, as well as his ignorance on Asperger's syndrome. His promotion of self-harm to a young fanbase has earned deep ire, too. Boogie has referred to disassociation as being like ‘the incredible Hulk’,
Several people with mental health issues have commented at various times to state that what Boogie says is wrong and harmful.
For those looking for a serious mental health advocate YouTuber, consider Special Books for Special Kids. His activism has done great things for the mentally ill, and he centers the experiences of the mentally ill, rather than himself.

Boogie’s Speech
In the wake of the Frank Hassle events, Boogie went onto Matt Jarbo’s Podcast the same day, and made the following speech to try to justify his actions. What follows is insane in it’s manipulation, sense of grandeur, and superiority complex.
Boogie’s Speech, or Manipulation 101: https://youtu.be/RVCbdZLR5Ss?t=6278
Matt begins by alluding to the idea that the entire meltdown is a bit, hinting at the suggestion that Boogie was creating a false narrative, or that Frank AND Boogie were cooperating to troll people…
Matt: I don’t want to think negatively of you, and I didn’t think of you. I had questions that were leading down paths that I was hoping to get to some kind of Occam’s Razor conclusion to, and go “this is the false path”. Because, when I look at the situation -Again, this is what I’ve been trying to say the whole time- is it’s possible -and again, based on what Keem said, and he’s alluding that it’s not- but is it possible that you were played? Is it possible that you- because if you know anything about Million Dollar Extreme and how they operate, you can see what they do and how they do it, and that was my whole point.
Boogie: (Sarcastic tone) And so, if you’d had a conversation with me earlier today… You would realise that I was the one that reached out to Keemstar, because he’s the only one I know who has mutuals in common with uh- that’s not fucking Ethan Ralph who I don’t want to talk to right. I haven’t wanted to talk to him since I’ve been on his show.
Matt: (laughing) But you still gave him the footage to play…? (crosstalk) And it’s I mean if you don’t wanna give him an exclusive, then-
Boogie: (crosstalk) Absolutely. Absolutely. Hey Hey. Hey Hey. Hey. It’s not an exclusive I gave the same footage to Keemstar (crosstalk) it was on storyfire four hours earlier, it’s not an exclusive.
Matt: (crosstalk) I don’t know he was bragging that it was an exclusive. He was trying to play it up and shit.
Boogie: No, it’s not, I pushed it. I gave it to DeFranco, I gave it to Keemstar, I gave it to everyone who wants it, because we need to make example of this.
Matt: So you want to make an example of him? Like wholeheartedly (crosstalk) just you, just like
Boogie: (crosstalk) No, I-I-I You want me to say shit that’s well, that’s going to ruin my career right now, because I will.
Matt: (crosstalk) No, I- No, I- Here’s the thing, I don’t. No, don’t. Don’t. Do it privately if you have to.
Boogie: (crosstalk) No hold on No hold on. I’m gonna level with you. I’mma level with you one hundred and ten percent.
Matt: (crosstalk) Do it privately if you have to. I, I want- alright
Boogie: (crosstalk) No, no I won’t. I’m going to. I’m going to. I want the world to hear this motherfucker. Okay? But this is gonna end me, but this is bigger than me.
Matt: Dude then would you stop saying that? (crosstalk) Dude then don’t
Boogie: No, this is gonna end me but this is BIGGER THAN ME. (crosstalk) But this is me giving up. But you want an exclusive?
Matt: (crosstalk) No, I just, I don’t care about that shit, dude.
Boogie: No here you go. You want an exclusive, here’s your exclusive. Okay? You’re jealous that “aw I gave an exclusive to Ethan okay? Well here’s the reality of what just really happened, Okay? Okay? You there?
Matt: I’m here, I’m listening.
~Boogie’s Speech Begins~
A year ago, I was ready to kill myself to try to change this platform because of this type of harassment that showed up on my front door today. Because Reddit didn't give a fuck. Because Keemstar didn't give a fuck. Because no one gave a fuck about Etika. No, I mean people talked about it but nothing changed. Youtube didn't change, uh. Keemstar didn't change, 4chan didn't change, Reddit didn't change. Nothing changed. Commentary community just ate it up and profited off Etika's fucking death. And I was ready to fucking go. I was ready to put a bullet in my head- Actually I was gonna take pills. But I was ready to fucking end my life in the hopes that it would make a fucking difference. Because, as bad as it was that Etika died, he wasn't as big of a creator, I had more subscribers, I had more views and I've been on the platform longer. And so I thought I could signal boost Etika.
And these are the thoughts I had, and I went to VidCon and I talked to EVERYONE about it. Everyone that would listen. I talked to Ian, I talked to SoCal, Jesus Christ, McJuggerNuggets, Kid Behind a Camera: Is there a way for me to signal boost this. Is there a way for me to achieve this but not have to die. Can you help me figure out how to do this and not have to die. And nobody had an answer. Nobody had an answer for me, Matt. They all said you just have to accept that this is the way it is. You just have to ignore it. And the more I talked about it, without dying, the more people believed I was lying. And that's why I think - find it so fucking hurtful that you thought I was lying today. Because I thought with this happening, with the cops involved, with the fucking footage, there's no way people would think I was lying. And it’s so fucking hurtful (quickly) but I’m getting ahead of myself.
I made the decision to live. And almost every day since I made that decision I’ve woke up with fucking regret. I’ve watched more fans turn against me. I’ve watched more people begin to believe I was a pedophile, more people to begin to believe I abused my ex-wife, more people began to believe I was a womanizer, more people to begin to believe that I was some sort of secret monster that lied about his health issues, that lied about his mental health issues, that lied about his molestation, that lied about his child abuse. Day in and day out.
And then today, this SOCIOPATH, this SICK MOTHERFUCKER showed up at MY FRONT DOOR. And I literally had the thought, this is why I’m still alive. To fucking put this message out there about mental health issues, to put this message out there about bullying, to put this message out there about how the world is changing. To protect creators like you, to protect creators like me, to see if we could change the fucking world. And as hard as today was, as scary as today was, I thought to myself: this is my fucking purpose. This is why I’m still fucking here. This is what I can do with the rest of my life. This is how I make a fucking difference. This is how I don’t have to feel guilty about the money I made, this is how I don’t have to feel guilty about the choice to stay alive, this is how I don’t have to feel guilty for all the fans who’ve been HURT by my choice to stay alive…
And I had to listen to several different people today ask me if this was real. Thequartering messaged me early on but he at least had enough respect to ask me if it was real. You did not. I had a small creator I know from my discord named Jack the Ripper ask me if it was real. He did, YOU did not. I had several other people today ask me if this was real. But YOU did not. And it was a hard fucking day, hard fucking day having to listen to people accuse me of lying and knowing that it’s entirely possible that that’s how the internet’s going to spin it. That somehow I made this up, somehow it’s all just a prank, somehow it’s all just a chance to revitalize my career.
And that’s why I didn’t wanna do any podcasts tonight. That’s why I didn’t wanna do any fucking shows today. That’s why I told Ethan to go fuck himself. But you sent me the link, and I thought we were friends, and here’s someone who will have my fucking back. And I logged in and you were doing the ONE GODDAMN THING that has hurt me the most today. More than having a sociopath come to my door. More than having to make the decision whether or not to end somebody’s life. It hurts me more that people think I’m lying about this. It hurts me more that people think its fake. And I had NO POSSIBLE belief that you would be one of those people doing that. Do you understand why that’s hurtful?
Matt: N-no I completely understand, I do.
Boogie: And all you had to do was have the same journalistic integrity of Thequartering.
Matt: Ouch. Yeah, that’s cold blooded dude, that cuts.

Why Boogie?
Why do people choose to observe Boogie? It’s hard to do better than the original words of Nightlikeday.
Taken from the original Megathread on SamandTolki:
Disclaimer: Contrary to what he claims, Boogie is NOT being accused of being a pedophile or a wife beater.
It’s easy to think that Boogie gets hated on because he’s too nice to fight back.
After all, everyone “knows” he’s the “Mister Rogers” of the internet. Boogie2988 seems to be a lovable person that wants to spread positivity and kindness.
At first glance, it’s not hard to root for Boogie. According to Boogie, his abusive upbringing drives him to inspire others suffering the same fate. This is how he gains your sympathy. His “underdog” story might even inspire you. The truth is that Boogie isn’t what he seems. He’s a selfish, abusive, manipulative liar. His “nice guy” persona is fake. He manipulates his impressionable fanbase for his own benefit. Boogie is a character played by Steven Jason Williams. Of course, the natural reaction is denial. “It can’t be true, can it? He is such an inspiration! You're just a hater!”
Or this introduction, taken from the Boogie GoogleDoc
It’s easy to think that Boogie is being hated upon because he is an easy target; too nice to fight back. Probably the nicest person on the internet; perhaps the Mr. Rodger’s of our time.
Is he really though?
Boogie2988 (aka Steven Williams) portrays himself as a sweet and lovable person that simply wants to spread messages of positivity and kindness. Admittedly, at first glance it’s very hard not to root for Boogie. According to him, he has lived through a terrible childhood and endured the most dire of hardships. With this, he gains your sympathy. He is an “underdog” that you desperately want to succeed, and he might even inspire you.
However, with most of us being ex-fans of his, over time we quickly discovered that Boogie isn't the saint he portrays himself to be. The mask has slipped. Most of us don't dislike Boogie because he is fat, but because he is a bad person. He is a dishonest, selfish, abusive, manipulative, liar. His nice guy persona is fake. In reality, Boogie is just a selfish man-child who only cares about himself and has had everything handed to him in life. He simply uses people, especially his fans, to benefit himself.
Turns out that Boogie, just like Francis, is just another character played by Steven Wiliams.
Of course, the natural reaction is to be in denial. “It can’t be true, can it? He is such an inspiration! You must be trolling to slander him!”
There are lots of reasons to think there is more to Boogie than is portrayed. Fans have been turned off by lots of his past behaviour.
Some of the reasons people choose to document Boogie are below.
Shifting Backstory:
Many were drawn in by Boogie’s sad past, and had a strong desire to help him. However, the contradictions in the story were hard to ignore. Whether it was his rape story shifting or being leveraged against rape victims, or his constant use of his own pain to shout down critics, there is a lot of reason to think Boogie is fake.
Mental Illness:
Boogie seems to have a myriad of mental illnesses, and seems to choose and change his diagnoses suddenly. Many believe that the behavior he exhibits is not consistent with these diagnoses, and more in line with narcissistic behavior, which Boogie has denied. Boogie also has claimed to have a team of therapists, who seem to give him terrible advice or justify his awful opinions. Furthermore, he has acted like a mental health advocate on top of these things. Through his promotion of the controversial BetterHelp, to his callous treatment of those around him suffering from mental illness, people begin to doubt the veracity of his claims. In particular, the ease with which Boogie lies and manipulates makes him worthy of documentation.
Treatment of Women:
From his obsession with hookers, to his porn blog, to the treatment of the women in his life, it’s hard to deny that Boogie has an issue with women. The pursuit of young women especially has concerned many and given Boogie a higher level of scrutiny. To Boogie, it would seem that women are either hookers or therapists, and little in-between. In part, people feel the need to document Boogie to protect the women around him, and make his concerning actions more visible.
Enlightened Centrist:
As a high-profile YouTuber, Boogie has pushed lots of people away with his hot takes. Despite being totally ignorant of politics, Boogie has claimed to be both a leftist and a centrist, depending on how he feels. Despite this, he seems to be mainly friends with right-wing people, making people think he’s a hypocrite. From saying that good came from the holocaust, to gay people needing to wait for marriage, to suggesting his haters were worse than rapists and Nazis, many have noticed Boogie’s low intelligence.
In any case however, Boogie is a public figure, and neutral, non-slanderous discussion is expected.

Passive Aggressive Behavior
Boogie often strains under the difficulty of maintaining his persona of a ‘nice guy’. At times, this comes out in passive aggressive jabs at people. Here are a few examples.
January 5, 2019: "Sorry I didn't pay attention to who this was. Love ya!"
January 5, 2019: “I’ll be sure not to share your work in the future <3″
March 3, 2019: “That was a fucking masterpiece Matthew!”
April 22, 2019: "I have unblocked you. Your time out is over. Please prove you're responsible enough with my tweets to deserve it. Good luck. You'll need it :P”

Boogie and Civility
Boogie has often claimed to be very kind and never insulted someone. However, this has been contradicted several times, and he has actually insulted people several times. He said that ‘kindness’ has been the basis of his platform for 15 years.
Insults: Boogie has often gone so far to say that he would never use an insult. He said on a podcast that he “would never call somebody names” and “insult somebody”, claiming he doesn’t understand “that kind of vitriol”. However in 2014 he would engage in an extended tirade of insults about a viewer who dared to criticize him. Regarding his deceased ex-girlfriend Dani, he said ‘FUCK HER’. When people would say they were offended by his words and actions he reacted with anger. Using a confirmed tripcode on 4chan, Boogie would call someone a ‘faggot’.
Pacifism: Boogie has often claimed to be a pacifist. He said until he was in high school, he was a very docile kid and only began to ‘hulk-rage out’ at age 14 to college. In the same video, he said he would rather have someone beat him up than give into anger.
In an alternative retelling however, he said he had only got into one fight when he was 12 years old. He further said he would fight his friends over minor disagreements, then ‘hug it out’.
He would abandon his weak commitment to pacifism after threatening to shoot Frank Hassle. During this time, he made frequent threats against Frank, saying he was going to kill him and take pleasure in it, and that he was looking forward to murdering him. He said he had trained with a gun for a year for a moment like this, FAR earlier than he had known Frank, suggesting he looked forward to violence.
Protecting Sammy: Boogie often uses his dog Sammy as proof he is a good person, often posting pictures of Sammy directly after a controversy. He often says he would never hurt Sammy. Despite this, Boogie has been very cruel and uncaring towards his dog. Boogie has said that Sammy is very afraid of fireworks, and did not walk him for several weeks after 4th of July 2020 due to Sammy being afraid of guns and loud noises. He begged for sympathy for Sammy in a TikTok. Most good dog owners would say to force a dog to go on walks even if they are unwilling, but Boogie may have his own reasons for not wanting to walk. Despite this, Boogie has been shown to set off fireworks right next to Sammy, and even fired a gun with him 3 feet away.
In another instance, he bit Sammy on camera, causing the poor dog to react in fear. Although he tried to say he scared his dog, given the reaction, and Boogie getting used to his new teeth, it’s far more likely that he actually bit the dog. He immediately became defensive, accusing Reddit pre-emptively of attacking him for biting the dog. He would later use this clip to claim foreknowledge of the criticism. He posted the video on his Twitter, however it was edited to remove the moment of the bite. Boogie would continue to defend himself on Twitter and claim that his critics were lying.
Sensitivity: Boogie is understandably sensitive to issues relating to fat acceptance, abuse and mental health, but has portrayed an odd hypocrisy considering PoC, Women and LGBT people, which he usually justifies as jokes. Despite that, many critics have suggested that his sensitivity is only used as a cudgel to punish those who have criticized him.
On a podcast where the hosts were being highly critical of Boogie, he got angry at them for using the term ‘kitchen table’ as it reminded him of his rape.
When Magic the Gathering (A group that has previously severed ties with Boogie) revealed a card based on a Walking Dead character, Boogie accused them of being inclusive to rapists. He highlighted that as an abuse survivor, he felt very upset about the creation of the card. However, he would also add that he loved the character and even cosplayed as him the very same day. After being criticized, he would backpedal, claiming that he wasn’t offended, before finally saying he didn’t care at all. Critics suspected this had more to do with losing his sponsorship with Wizards than any real sensitivity.
Harassment: Boogie has claimed that he has been harassed by his critics between either his birth or 6 years. He has gotten very angry when people criticize or mock him, and often called that harassment. Despite this, Boogie has engaged in harassment himself several times throughout his life, either enabling it or partaking in it himself.
Boogie has admitted that he has engaged in harassment in his 30s on 4chan and other sites.
Boogie engaged in harassment against Anita Sarkeesian several times, although the majority of this was simply enabling it. He would only acknowledge this far after the act, although a year earlier he was saying he should have been crueler to her (though 15 days later he would contradict this).
Boogie is known to quote tweet his critics rather than reply, opening them up to massive harassment. He has been informed about this effect several times, but has said it is ‘fair game’ to send his fans to harass them.

Boogie and Frank Hassle
Unlike other critics, Frank Hassle is notable for the impact he has had on Boogie’s life. As a member of the comedy troupe MDE, Frank has a caustic and somewhat negative reputation, though he has never physically hurt someone in his videos, or even touched someone. His MO is to say controversial things to people, and film their reactions. However, Boogie worked himself into hysterics over Frank Hassle, culminating in attempting to murder him.
Introduction: According to Frank, one of his fans told Boogie that Frank Hassle was "coming for you”. As a result, Boogie panicked and began to DM Frank begging to collab with him. However, Frank refused. This often involved Boogie accusing Frank of trying to kill Boogie, and Boogie begging Frank not to kill his dog.
The Initial Meeting: Frank and Boogie were appeared together on the Killstream podcast in mid 2020. Boogie initially DMed Frank on Twitter to try and beg for leniency, applying varying manipulative tactics. Initially, he leveraged his usual emotional blackmail to try and tell Frank he wasn’t worth it. He accused Frank of planning to hurt his dog and family, and said he would happily be given pink belly. When Frank mocked this tactic, Boogie said he would ‘play along’ with Frank to help his audience. Boogie now tried to befriend Frank in order to stop the criticism.
As the show date drew nearer, Boogie seemed to understand that he would probably get angry on the show, and assured Frank that the ‘meltdown’ would be fake. Before the show, he told Frank he ‘trusts’ him. He demonstrated that he would not take it personally, and told Frank to ‘go nuts’.
The Killstream: On the stream, Frank called Boogie out on his signalling of children, his abuse contradictions, his weight gain and his manipulation. Boogie tried his usual emotionally abusive tactics of trying to shut opposition up by recounting his sexual abuse, mentioning his inverted penis, and talking about his low testosterone. He also warned Frank not to hurt his dog or family (which Frank never mentioned), and said that if he came to Arkansas he would be shot by Boogie’s neighbors. Frank in return insulted Boogie and told him he would come to Arkansas to document and ‘hassle’ him, and cited the SamandTolki megathread.
Notably, in the stream Boogie repeated the idea that he was a pacifist, and had  never fought back in any physical confrontation in his life after a middle school fight. Boogie claimed he had hurt a child so badly that he never wanted to fight again. This matches previous claims when Boogie has claimed to be a pacifist who would never fire a gun.
After the stream, despite insulting Frank constantly, Boogie tried to play friendly and thanked him, which Frank rebuffed.
The Next Day: The stream led to a large amount of ridicule for Boogie, further losing even more fans due to his inability to defend himself against accusations of child molestation and lies. Boogie began to claim that he had rhetorically beaten Frank. As his critics accused him of having another meltdown, Boogie and his fans engaged in mass reporting of Frank’s videos, simultaneously reporting the SamandTolki Subreddit to Reddit admins by claiming it now had an association with the banned MillionDollarExtreme subreddit.
This censorship was successful, and Frank was banned from YouTube alongside the SamandTolki subreddit. Frank tried to appeal his ban unsuccessfully, while Boogie celebrated it despite claiming to have had nothing to do with it. Frank was understandably mad at Boogie however, and promised that he would be held accountable. He made some joke Twitter posts to try and bother Boogie more. Boogie continued to worry that Frank would one day visit him.
Months later: After Frank mentioned he was in Arkansas to visit a friend, and decided to take a picture to tease Boogie. Boogie began to panic. He uploaded a video of someone casually ringing his doorbell and walking leisurely away. Critics suspect this of being either Boogie’s friend or a delivery person, but Boogie contested that it was Frank Hassle. After being criticized for the fact this person looked nothing like Frank, Boogie changed the story to suggest it may have been a friend, incorrectly claiming that he said that initially. Finally, Boogie acknowledged that it could have just been a fan or unconnected person, before backpedaling completely.
However, Boogie still felt determined to end his feelings of persecution. Initially confident, Boogie went on Keemstar’s podcast with Frank, culminating in him threatening to kill and take pleasure in the death of the bemused Frank.  In the interview itself, Frank said he had a personal friend who had been victimized by Boogie’s lies. Further, he said Boogie engages in ‘almost pedophilic’ behavior, and said he had seen Boogie coming on to girls under 25. He said “He’s a 45 year old man hitting up teens and girls in their early 20s”. In response, Boogie claimed “I’ve literally never done that, that’s a lie, why are you lying?”. It should be noted that Lucy Foxx was 20 when she met Boogie, and claimed he had come on to girls younger than her. In the interview, he said “C’mon pussy! C’mon pussy! C’mon pussy pussy! (mocking voice) I’m in your town but I won’t drive the extra three miles, I won’t drive the extra three miles because I’m such a pussy. Show the fuck up, I will end you”.
Boogie would panic after this, accusing Frank of claiming to  have evidence of Boogie’s pedophilia and abuse of women. Although he claimed this evidence had no merit, he continued to demand that Frank come to his house to debate him, while also threatening to kill him if he did show up. He accused Frank of being too scared to rise to this impossible challenge, displaying a perverse excitement.
The Fans’ view: Boogie’s fans and critics alike showed a concern and willingness to call the police, but Boogie said not to involve the police, and claimed to have contacted a police officer, who falsely informed him that Boogie’s death threats towards Frank were justified. Critics believed this was an attempt to avoid another welfare check, however as Boogie claimed to be sitting in the closet with an illegal firearm, it was certainly not out of the question.
Boogie ultimately claimed he was turning his back on the previously claimed pacifist stance, bizarrely justifying this by retroactively claiming that he had been harassed for his entire life. Some critics believed this was an attempt to try and monetize his criticism, something he has wanted to do before and wanted to do earlier that week. However, the general consensus was that this changed after being confronted with potential evidence of misdemeanors.
Rising to the Taunts: After being taunted repeatedly on Twitter, Frank understandably felt he had to confront Boogie directly. He showed up at Boogie’s house. Unarmed, and filming, he rung Boogie’s doorbell. Boogie opened the door, gun in hand, and immediately pointed it at Frank. A friend stood behind Boogie, holding Boogie’s dog as a shield. He fired a warning shot, and Frank left. The facts were clear, Boogie had broken Arkansas law by taunting Frank and firing a warning shot, and the police came to his house.  As Frank walked away, Boogie would taunt him, calling him a ‘pussy’(3:15). Boogie had the choice to keep the door closed, and knew Frank was unarmed. He also demonstrated that he was mentally aware of his actions at the time.
After Frank left, Boogie returned to Twitter to justify why he had seemingly abandoned his pacifism, claiming that Frank and the SamandTolki thread had resulted in death threats, a claim with no evidence. Boogie asked his fans to send him memes about the event and bragged about almost killing his ‘stalker’ on Facebook. Finally, Boogie declared he was going to bring a defamation suit against Frank, however given that the claims Boogie disputes are factually documented on this very blog as well as elsewhere, it is unknown how well this will go for him. A police investigation is ongoing, with Boogie’s neighbors upset with his actions.
Later that day, Boogie went on Matt Jarbo’s podcast to justify his actions, explaining how it was politically motivated to get attention to his bullying. A partial transcript of ‘Boogie’s Speech’ can be found here.
Frank would later upload a heavily edited video.
A Summary:
Boogie, by his own admission, is mentally ill and medicated. That and having a medical marijuana card federally disqualify him from possessing a firearm. Furthermore, Arkansas is a duty to retreat state and the castle doctrine only comes into effect when someone has entered your residence and poses a violent threat. Frank was not in Boogie’s home as Arkansas law does not define the front lawn as part of the residence. Finally, Arkansas does not allow warning shots as in their own code it states "what goes up must come down". Frank might be on the hook for a misdemeanor but Boogie committed felonies and bragged about it.
Did Boogie Fear for His Life? Boogie’s legal defense is contingent on whether or not he feared for his life. As a result, he has reacted with intense anger, even gaslighting Matt Jarbo on his podcast when people suggest that it could be partially staged. Frank is well-known as a prankster who is known for not physically touching his victims. Therefore it is irrational to expect him to escalate this, especially on camera.
Chronologically, Boogie’s initial attitude towards Frank was offering to play along with his ‘meltdown’. Boogie didn’t talk too much about Frank after that, but after finding out he was in Arkansas, began to claim Frank had harassed him for months (there is no evidence that this occurred). He said he had tried to talk rationally with Frank, but that Frank wanted to harm his mental health. He claimed that Frank was here to ‘harass’ and ‘scare’, and was chosen by Frank to trigger his PTSD. On the other hand, Frank has always been clear in conversation with Boogie that his main issue is with his creepy behavior towards young women, and that Frank has a friend who has been emotionally abused by Boogie.
During the shooting, Boogie acted oddly. First, opening the door unnecessarily. Boogie could see that Frank was unarmed from his external camera, and could also communicate with him from inside. In addition, he immediately pointed the gun at him upon doing this. He also stepped out through the doorway, towards Frank to fire a warning shot. Boogie acted in a way that some critics have said seems rehearsed, though displayed odd familiarity with the gun that he legally could not own. In addition, the repeated taunts, including calling him a ‘pussy’ while he walks away, do not seem the actions of someone fearing for his life.
Initially, Boogie claimed these taunts and provocations were justified, however on Matt Jarbo’s podcast, state that the police later told him otherwise. After the shooting, Boogie changed to say that he was scared for his life or health, completely going against the previous narrative. Many have raised the question that the entire series of events is fake, and an attempt to promote storyfire on Boogie and Keemstar’s part.
Boogie should not be armed
In addition to not fearing for his life, the question is also raised if a man who has admitted to wanting to use guns to kill himself should be allowed access to a gun in the first place.

Boogie’s Weight Loss
Boogie is well known for being obese, with his original fame coming from his ‘fat guy falls in pool’ video. A constant struggle in his life has been his desire to lose weight. Despite this, many have noticed that Boogie has failed to lose weight.
Originally starting at around 600lbs at his heaviest, Boogie was able to lose around 75lbs before 2012, in which he appeared on the British television show  SuperSize VS SuperSkinny. After this showing, he stalled at this weight until 2017 and began to become desperate. He began to consider bariatric surgery, which he underwent against the advice of his doctors.
Misconceptions about Weight Loss: Despite being obese, Boogie has a startling misconception about weight loss, which he perpetuates though clear fallacies. In a 2016 long post, Boogie claimed that he only lost 1lb a week on a 1200 calorie per day diet. This would seem to be breaking the laws of physics, though Boogie claimed his doctors disagreed. In a later Tumblr post, he would claim that at a 2000 calorie diet he had also failed to lose weight.
Gastric Bypass: By far the biggest actual loss was surgical intervention. Boogie was able to lose around 150lbs in the per-surgery loss stage and immediately following it. He had big plans for healthy eating, including not eating fried food and continuing to a target weight of 250lbs.
Contradictions about Healthy Eating: Since his surgery, Boogie has stressed that his stomach is small.
Boogie committed to doing 30 days of healthy eating, but was seen 2 weeks later eating greasy food at a restaurant and eating donuts. Boogie would claim this was him ‘taking a day off from healthy eating’, showing a concerning lack of interest in his diet, as well as a poor example for his impressionable fans. In a stream, Boogie reacted with anger, claiming that there was no healthy food at the event, however critics easily found videos disproving this. Boogie would continue to be passive aggressive about this in the future.
When filming collaborative videos, Boogie has often claimed that he will eat healthily, but other perspectives show this to be a lie.
General Weight Loss Contradictions:
Boogie has often misconstrued his weight loss, either trying to cover up his weight loss stall or out of a concerning delusion that being 350lbs is healthy. In early 2019, Boogie claimed he had lost 17lbs in 5 months, however his Twitter showed a contradiction as he was the exact same weight 5 months prior. Boogie claimed in late 2018 that he no longer took up two seats on the bus, but photo evidence showed this to be false.
Boogie claimed he could walk between 3 and 4 miles a day, but later said he struggled to walk more than 2 miles on the treadmill. In his treadmill Tiktok, he is clearly struggling to walk on the treadmill and suggested COVID19 made him give up, in spite of stating that he was exercising consistently during quarantine. Despite all these struggles, Boogie claimed that he broke quarantine to run a marathon in mid 2020, an extremely unlikely feat for a man of his size and low mobility.
On the Killstream Podcast, Boogie claimed that he was 355lbs and holding for a year and a half. However, upon getting on the scale, it was revealed he was 364lbs, showing a lack of tracking weight.
Hypocrisy: Since losing weight, Boogie has seen fit to insult and criticize other obese people. When at a restaurant, Boogie harassed a girl for eating pizza, comparing it to his chicken shawarma. He sarcastically said “I made the right choice. Enjoy your greasy, greasy pizza”. In 2018, Boogie used a larger friend as a prop to create a fake before/after image, mocking the slightly more obese friend. Although showing awareness that his friend was bothered by this, he said “I won’t do this often”.
Giving up: In 2019, at around 350lbs, Boogie was streaming on Twitch and answered questions as to why his well publicized weight loss had stalled for 2 years. Initially reacting in anger at the question, Boogie said his main focus was now his mental health rather than his weight. He said that he he was very healthy due to his exercise, and that he no longer cared about cutting back on unhealthy food, claiming that this was part of his self-care. He said that his body was fully healed and now he wanted to focus on his mental health, despite the fact that unhealthy food is linked to mental health issues. He added that he felt losing weight was now unnecessary despite having a BMI of 40+.
EveryDamnDayFitness: Many of Boogie’s fans reacted to this with incredible concern, including fellow YouTuber EveryDamnDayFitness, who made a video pleading with Boogie’s friends and family to address his poor health, out of genuine concern for his life. EDDF said that Boogie’s surgery was just a band-aid for his food addiction, and if this went unaddressed, he would not solve his issues.
As is usual with his critics, Boogie reacted with extreme anger. He commented on Reddit about EDDF’s video, saying a public response was incredibly harmful. He also raised the point that he was aware he would die in the next 10 years, and planned to spend that time eating whatever he wanted. In a response video, EDDF made the point that Boogie was open to public criticism due to being a public figure, and that Boogie was giving irresponsible messages to his fans. EDDF also proved that Boogie lied about the claim that EDDF had never privately messaged him. He also reiterated the health risks of being 350lbs.
Boogie continued to vent his frustration at EDDF’s criticism, claiming that EDDF’s fans were harassing him. Later, he would go onto the H3H3 podcast and misrepresent the comments he made in the initial video. EDDF demonstrated how Boogie was lying about these points, and continuing to slander EDDF. EDDF also showed how Boogie had tried to get his fans to harass EDDF.
A year later, Boogie would agree to an interview with EDDF.
Delusions: Since his gastric bypass, Boogie has displayed a seeming delusion that he is now at a healthy weight (365lbs).
He has suggested that he is the same weight as Frank Hassle.

Boogie’s Misc Lies and Hypocrisies
Here are some of the smaller contradictions that don’t fit so well elsewhere.
Boogie has been a constant critic of Game-Critic Anita Sarkeesian, especially criticizing what he perceives as extreme leftism and sensitivity. Despite this, on Matt Jarbo’s podcast he would express many of the same ideas that he had criticized her of, towards changing YouTube culture.
Boogie would deeply criticize James Gunn for saying controversial things in the past, but ignore his own grotesque past porn blogs.

Boogie and Young Fans/TikTok
Boogie has never been accused of being a pedophile. However, it can be said that he has an unhealthy relationship with his younger fans. He often justifies this by saying he has an arrested development at age 14/15. At other times, he has gone even further by claiming to be mentally 12. Although the concept of arrested emotional development is new, it certainly does not justify the way Boogie ignores his age in ways that can often seem creepy.
Young Fans: Boogie has said he ‘only’ follows 2% of underage fans on TikTok. Further, he has claimed that his TikTok fans are mostly adults, but there are many children and young people who follow him.
Weird statements: There have been many statements that have also seemed to be weird towards children and young people. While driving with McJuggerNuggets, Boogie had to stop him from recounting some sexual statements Boogie had made about children. Boogie has said on multiple occasions that he would not have children because he was afraid he would molest and abuse them.
TikTok: TikTok is an app known to be used by children. Despite this, the 46 year old Boogie has often used this app. He seems to be aware that TikTok is often used by predators to groom children, yet gets incredibly angry when people point out that often his behavior is creepy/grooming.
TikTok Duets with Young Women: Boogie often uses TikTok to duet with women who are or appear very young. Many of these videos also deal with age-play related concepts, such as being called daddy, which is known to be an interest to Boogie. When Boogie duets, the vast majority is with young women, usually less than half his age.
Shirtless TikToks: When Boogie makes TikToks, people noticed that he rarely seems to wear a shirt. Boogie has angrily defended his choice to be shirtless on multiple occasions.
Despite the criticism, Boogie has continued to film nude/semi-nude TikToks.
An End to TikTok: After TikTok was banned in America, Boogie requested investment from Notch and MrBeast for a TikTok for adults, allowing pornography. When criticized for this, he defended this by claiming the site would somehow not allow minors.
