So, can we please talk about this little scene? Kotallo literally can’t stop looking at her while Hekarro speaks. 

He tries to avoid eye contact and fails, my boy. 

I dont regret this video. Is my HC about what is Kotallo thinking and in my heart is true

2/30 - The way she admires him

One of the second things we can notice is the amount of times Aloy praises Kotallo. Even not technically needing his help with the rebels or machines, Aloy never skips the opportunity to compliment him on his prowess.

He could be stubborn about his abilities as a fighter, yet he was insecure about it as he said "What good is anyone who lacks that" and even gaia once mentioned that she detected the lost of his arm still deeply pained him. Aloy doesn't even look at his arm during stone crest, she says she's glad he is by her side, that he's a good fighter, that he fought well against the rebels and that he's done a good job with Tekotteh. They were complete strangers, just met hours prior and she already openly shows and voices admiration towards him.

I also need to mention briefly that when he asked to join her she never said "you don't understand" or "this isn't a fight you can win by brute force", she completely believed in his intelligence and potential. And boy she wasn't wrong, I consider Kotallo as being one of the smartests in the team, he build a functional mechanical arm with only a few months(?) using the focus. Extremely disciplined and smart, I think Aloy also saw that in him, the way her eyes lit up when he was following her line of thought about blowing up the Bulwark:

"There's something from the old world stuck in there and it has a power cell. I could blow it up if I penetrate the first layer of rock and metal"

"Even if what you're saying is true, it would take a canon to do that"

"You're right!!"

I included in the video them at the Zenith lab, she never says "You sure you can build this?", "Do you need any help fabricating it?". She either trusts him completely, believes in his potential or very likely both. Not to mention that she didn't even warn him that to get to the lab they would need to climb a very steep mountain, she didn't address it because she knew it wouldn't be impossible for him. And in the end, that was so meaningful to Kotallo that when he finally builds the arm he wants Aloy there, her approval. He says that's who he is now, what he overcame, but what he doesn't mention is how she helped him come through it. The game during that conversation makes the controller vibrate so much, stronger when the focus is on Aloy and fading after she says she wouldn't have it any other way. This just gives way more immersion on how emotional important that moment is and I fail to see any other time this mechanic is used during a cutscene...

Hello everyone. I am new here. I'm a big fan of Horizon and Horizon Forbidden West but also Kotallo and Aloy. They are my main ship ^.^ I came here from reddit after being attacked when I posted about hoping the devs give Kotaloy a chance. Many said I was immature, that "my dedication to my ship" was weak because I couldn't just be happy with my ship even if it wasn't canon, and other awful things. So I'm here to soothe my soul and enjoy the lovely art and be a fan with all the rest of you!
