The last few krakens and giant squids I saw in any media had entirely soft suckers like an octopus so now I'm wondering something. Giant squid generally have "tooth lined" suckers, and the colossal squid's two longer tentacles have suckers that evolved into full blown claws all over them.

One thing I will never, ever do, is look up drawing tutorials. I hate every single one of ‘em, and especially the ones about composition, and especially the ones with a red cross in the thumbnail and ‘never do this!’ in the headline with a burning passion. I can’t even tell you why, they just ignite a deep animal instinct in me and I want to start biting, regardless of how good the advice is or how nuanced they are

Playing around with some character designing: thanks to the fun devil show I have an obsession with Lucifer. Not just the cartoon character, but the man himself. The myth, the legend, the fallen angel, the disgraced god, etc. There are lots of examples in human history of gods being appropriated and reinterpreted to be evil, my favourite is Seth, who was just a poor simple wind god (well, maybe not poor and simple, but you get my point) before he got associated with a people the Egyptians hated in particular and was turned into the god of chaos and evil over the centuries.*
Lucifer is fascinating, though, because he is a rebel. He fought against god and lost, was cast out from the kingdom of heaven, etc. And well, we like rebels don’t we? Especially in this day and age, a figure like Lucifer who has the gall to take it up against a so-called divine order that bases its authority on the pretence that it is natural (and thus, good), well… the parallels write themselves. I was drawing a little comic to explore that idea a bit, but I thought it'd be to already show off this sketch. I see Lucifer as a revolutionary, or perhaps a revolutionary after the revolution caught up in the ever tightening web of a new order he did not expect nor want to see, so I based his clothing a little on the ones worn by 18th century revolutionaries like Toussaint de l'Ouverture and Simon Bolivar, with a bit of Napoleon (not a rebel but certainly an opportunistic general) thrown into the mix. A divine mutinous general cast out of heaven, forced to continue a kind of guerrilla war in the mortal realm? In any case, there are so many interesting possibilities to this.
*I may be grossly misrepresenting here though, please do not take any of my claims on faith

This sounds eerily similar to La Vita è Bella with Roberto Benigni, or at least an attempt to make a similar movie decades prior! I wonder if Benigni was aware of this failed film when he made his in the 90s?
Now that I drew Morgan Heywood in this fashion I imagine him attending auditions dressed up like this and giving instructions to the director and the actors… maybe some more drawings will follow!
Oh, I like your juxtaposition!
My brain is staring at "Lewis's serious dramatic debut" and just can't get past the words into picturing how it might be.
Also, what the hell, Library of Congress, go out and get Die verschwundene Frau or dig up Schuß im Morgengrauen (which has to be somewhere, I know it does) - arrgh!
I see they're not screening that film anymore, because of Reasons.
And anyway, yes - Peter as Morgan Heywood in drag, with that absolutely beautiful contemptuous, bodes-no-good-for-anyone-in-his-path expression, is all I need of "The Patsy."

I’m curious, is Al’s hell form a little dated in your style? (A redesign to match his human form and race a bit more) or do you kinda keep him to canon? (Love your art. It’s amazing to see you create such lovely designs)
I'm ok with his design in the show. He's a demon there, 'cringe but free'~ and I based my human design on the show's version anyway, his features, I mean.
But I had my little experiment while silling around with him and Rosie. I tried to give him more 1920s–30s silhouette in his outfit. Like, monocle wasn't the most popular attribute to wear; at least it wasn't that popular in America to my knowledge, so I've changed it to pince-nez, for example. Also monocle was something like an indication that you have big money in your pocket which wasn't Al's case when he was alive. Yeah, maybe he was a popular radio host but I don't think because of his origin he was able to get that Rich Bitch status. A bowtie is possible (though I saw it mostly in formal suit combination, like at some wealthy people parties, not like as a regular wear), but a simple tie is more refreshing. There are already too many bowties in the show XD You know, just small changes.
