she grinned back to him "¿no puede una chica robar una línea?" sofia lifted her own drink in a silent cheers to him. "me too. nothing hits quite like a good tequila. i would say our odds are slim but slim is still better than none. maybe that's the wishful thinking of it all"
Santiago snorted out a small laugh. "¿No es esa mi frase?" He reached out his beer to offer a cheers to Sofia. "Fuuuuck, I miss tequila. What do you think the odds are of a delivery truck coming to town?"

"no seas triste, eres demasiado bonita para eso." she comforted, sitting up in her spot with a smile "no soy el único" the beer in town wasn't her favourite but it wasn't like the town was bursting with options "gone are the days of good wine and tequila, we're beer drinkers now"
He stared at the water, not looking over at Sofia. "Nada. No quiero hablar de eso" Finally Santiago glanced over, a small smile playing at his lips. "Te ves bien en el sol." At the question he held up his beer. "Wish they had something stronger here," he grumbled.

sofia lowered her sunglasses slightly to look over the top to him "¿oh que está mal?" she had hoped she would hear some of that music of his "no mucho, tomando el sol mientras pueda. no es frecuente que tengamos este clima." sofia stretched out, enjoying the sun on her skin "what are you drinking?"
He shook his head as he joined Sofia in a beach chair. "Lo siento, no. No me siento bien." Santiago grimaced, taking a sip of his beer. "¿Qué pasa?"

where: the lake who: @santiagoayala (santiago)
"mi compañero de cena. hola" she greeted him with a smile. she had met him at the diner and almost burst into tears at meeting someone that reminded her of her home. "¿estás poniendo música para el evento?"

where: pop & lock soda shop who: @wanderinglcst (siobhan)
sofia sat on one of the stools at the worktop with a soda. she was reading a book while she worked on the drink. after some time she finished the drink and went to order another, when the staff showed up to take her order sofia shook her head "this person has been waiting longer, please server them first"

where: bucky's diner who: @santiagoayala
entering into the diner, she noticed how packed it was. her eyes scanned the room for a table but there was nothing free, the best she could get was a spare seat. braving the idea, sofia approached someone at a table "hi, would it be possible if i could sit here?"

sofia was used to having an endless wardrobe and she had to face the reality that it wasn't the case in a town like huntsville. she was fortunate to be stuck with a lot more luggage than most others were but wear and tear was most definitely a thing in town and it was time to replace some clothes. haversham family boutique was the best place that suited sofia's style and apparently it suited someone else the same when she reached for the same item as someone else.
"a dilemma of the highest regard"
location: haversham family boutique
closed starter for: @sofia-borbon
you couldn't tell by the look on her face, but sunny actually enjoyed visiting the haversham family boutique. it was where she spent most of her time, perusing the racks and shelves like she was someone's personal shopper. and theoretically she was, but she was only ever shopping for herself. her closet was already full, but as she spotted a shirt that she deemed cute, she reasoned with herself that she well and truly needed it. but that came to a halt when she reached for it at the same time as another person, her lips pursing and her eyes narrowing.
"mmmm, this could be a problem."

she had been too engrossed with something shiny that had caught her eye at a stall for her to realise that someone was walking her way. when their shoulders collided, sofia reached out to try and grab something, anything to hold her balance and thankfully someone jumped in to hold her arm. "oh, gracias" she blurted out in her home language before catching herself "i mean, thank you. it's alright, i'm not injured." she confirmed "i'm probably as much to blame, something sparkly caught my eye and i wasn't looking where i was going either. are you okay?"
Gideon hadn't come into town with a whole lot, but since he had yet to find himself a paying job, trading what little he had was the only way to get anything. That said, the trading post was a little less stressful than going shopping in a real store, anyway, so he didn't mind it so much. He hadn't seen anything that he needed just yet, but his eyes were glued to the stalls as he walked, which meant he wasn't really watching where he was going. When he slammed into another body, immediately he blurted out, "I'm so sorry!" His hands reached forward to gently take Sofia's arm, to hold her steady. Looking mortified, he waited until he was sure he hadn't injured her visibly before he let go. "I'm so sorry," he repeated, quieter this time. "Are you alright? I really need to look where I'm going, I'm sorry."

sofia stopped at his call "uh hi" she greeted "it can be taken literally but you can also use ration cards as a trade, it doesn't always have to be an item. some people prefer items but won't knock back a ration card" she answered. for as long as she was here, the trading post wasn't a place she visited often. "i take it you're new here? how long since you arrived?"
Chaz had never been very good at unwinding, and since coming to Huntsville, he had had an even harder time doing so. He had never been the type to sit quietly at home, usually needing to be doing something more active. While there might not have been a ton of options for excitement in town, taking a walk through the trading post was at least a decent distraction from everything that was on his mind. But, as the name implied, he assumed he would need something to trade, and he really did not have anything to trade. Noticing a woman passing by him, he asked, "'Scuse me, luv, but I'm just wonderin' if the name's meant to be taken literally here? Do you hafta have somethin' to trade if you wanna get somethin'?"

sofia stopped and looked to the extinguisher "i'm not sure. they're designed to always work so let's hope that it does" hearing them talk about how they were itching to find out suddenly had sofia nervous to find out if they were going to wreak havoc with said extinguisher "do i want to ask if you're going to scratch that itch or not?"
remi stood off to the side, not having much of anything to trade ( or was willing to let go of just yet ) but was looking for something to do regardless and they were still getting used to town. ❝ hey! ❞ they asked the person passing by as they tapped a pen against the old looking fire extinguisher hooked up to the wall. ❝ do you think this thing still works, mate? i am suddenly itching to find out. ❞

where: trading post who: open to all
boredom was the worst thing that she had to deal with in town. there was only so much work and reading she could do. desperately looking for some entertainment, sofia took a stroll to the trading post to see if there was anything interesting there to find.

"nope, sorry. my family weren't big on that kind of music, it's more classical where i'm from" likely the most subtle way she could put it. sofia smiled and gave a laugh at his attempted whisper "i could tell" she whispered loudly back at him "i'm okay, i don't smoke but i'm happy to keep you company if you'd like some"
“Really? I Believe I Can Fly? I don’t really know who did it,” Nico admitted with a shrug. He leaned over to whisper at her loudly, “I’m really high if you couldn’t tell.” He grinned. “You want some? I got another joint here somewhere.” He patted all his pockets.

"no, i don't" she confirmed. she laughed at the rendition of another song she didn't recognise. she had to hand it to him, the enthusiasm was there. sofia softly shook her again again "no, i don't know that one either. what's that one?"
(continued from here with @sofia-borbon)
“You don’t know this song? It was everywhere back in the early 2000s!” Nico said with a grin. He kind of recognized her from the cafe, and he waved at her despite her being in front of him. “I’m flying high! I believe I can fly! I believe I can touch the sky!” He laughed. “That’s another song. You know that one?”

she was given the day off to attend the festival and it had been the first time she had elt like she was having fun in town in a long time. she didn't realise how creative and how talented people were in town. sofia passed booths and saw the guy from the coffee shop on a bench - nico, if she remembered correctly. he looked like he was having the time of his life belting out whatever song he was chanting. sofia had the intention of leaving the songbird to his hearts content but he flagged her down.
"umm i actually don't know this song" she admitted, pausing when she saw his face "are you okay?"
where: art festival who: open
Nico was vibing. He like art even if he didn't completely understand it, so he decided to go to the festival, but he 100% wasn't going to be sober during it. He'd promised Jessie that he would cut back on the drinking, but he'd said nothing about weed, so he was baked out of his mind, sitting on a bench, swaying back and forth as he listened to a nearby band play Linkin Park.
He lifted his hands into the air as he did, eyes closed, singing along as the lyrics really spoke to him.
"I tried so hard And got so far But in the end It doesn't even matter I had to fall To lose it all But in the end It doesn't even matter."
His waving hands knocked into someone passing behind him and he lowered his hands and then his shutter glasses to look at the passer-by. "Yooooo, this song is like my jam right now, you feel me?"

sofia looked up from the chart she was working on and gave a smile "hi, umm good question. i'll need to check but if we can spare anything it'll be minimum amounts. maybe some rags or bandages or thread for stitches"
@sofia-borbon
Charlie walked into the clinic, not really wanting to bother anyone so she just approached the reception desk and smiled, leaning on the counter. "Hey...so quick question, you guys have any extra supplies for first aid kits? I'm trying to make sure the ranger station I'm at is well-stocked."
