Stevie Nicks-inspired DIYs

There's something about summer and OFMD gif sets that makes me want to dress like Stevie Nicks forever. I'm still missing some pieces, though, so I had a look around for things I could make for cheap. Here's what I've found, should you want to do the same.

DIY tie crop top with big sleeves. (Sewing, Youtube video, tracing from existing shirt)

The tutorial makes for a pretty cool result already, but to match this top of Stevie's, I would loose the ruffle, make the ties longer so I can tie them in the back, and flare the sleeves out instead of gathering them at the wrist. + add a little sparkly brooch :)

"Coachella" lacy wrap shawl. (Knitting, PDF pattern, one size)

This shawl is made of fabric yarn, which you can purchase, or make yourself from scraps you have left from sewing project (yay no waste!) I'm currently knitting one from various cotton scraps I've collected over the years.

Two slip patterns : Terra and Coral (Sewing, PDF patterns, various sizes available)

What do you put under your shawl? A slip dress! Those are essentially underwear worn as outerwear, so I looked for lingerie patterns, but there are probably dozens of tracing and drafting methods out there.

Tiered ruffle maxi skirt (Sewing, Youtube video, drafting from measurements)

Skirts like that are easy to make but require a lot of fabric. I like that this tutorial includes some piecing, which is an excellent way to use less yardage. Also the video is in hindi, but there are subtitles.

Haori-style cardigan (Sewing, blog post, drafting from measurements)

Japanese cardigans are some of the easiest things to make - they are entirely made of rectangles. I've made one already, but I want more :)

Here's another cute gift idea: a small crocheted basket with animal ears.

This beginner-friendly project requires the basic crochet stitches, and knowing how to work in the round.

You can find this pattern for free on Ravelry and on Móhu's blog. It comes with an option for bear ears and one for cat ears.
