“it still feels weird being a soloist instead of promoting with you,” sola admitted, twirling her pigtail around her finger with a frown. “it makes sense, and i understand it in theory, but we just trained so long together as if we were going to be a group.... being separate from that is very odd.” @rvchase​ @woorvi​ @rvjulie​ @rvmyungji​

“i’m really starting to miss you guys,” sola admitted, resting her head on her hand. “like, i know we’re still promoting together, but it’s so much less than after the show. it feels lonely.” @jieunrv @rvjinhwa @seyeonrv​

“i promise, i have time,” sola assured the younger girl with a laugh, pulling her hair out of her face. “i’m just here to practice, not to learn anything for a comeback yet. i want to see what you have prepared for you evaluation!”

“caught during an intimate moment? you’ve got to be kidding me,” sola said, eyes that had been clouded with worried flashing to annoyance as she scanned the dispatch article that had caused so much chaos in her life that particular weekend. looking at donny, she scoffed. “they’re making it sound like we were caught fucking in the green room or something... all you did was kiss my forehead. this is ridiculous...”

she’d never been to the states before-- that in itself made the trip exciting, but the fact that the reason for the trip was because her boyfriend wanted to introduce her to the family? she’d been floating on air since they’d touched down in Malibu the week prior. donny’s parents were empty nesters, so the couple had rented a private villa (there wasn’t enough room for both of them and andy at the shin household), and sola felt like she was in a dream. walking out to the private pool area behind their unit to find adonis, she looked out from the doorway, hand shading her eyes from the sun. “hey babe, i think our reservation with your parents is in two hours-- shouldn’t we start getting ready? i don’t know how long the drive will be....”

“there’s no need for that.” ryujin shrugged locking her phone and put it away in her jacket. “she did what was best for herself, whatever, next.” she finished with a snap of her fingers. she is admitedly a little disappointed in her former teammate however but, “i guess some people just aren’t build to be a celebrity, you know? i mean, that couldn’t be me! but— you know what i mean, right? don’t worry your pretty little head, babe~”

solada smiled to herself. while ryujin often came across blunt, and rubbed some (seyeon mainly) the wrong way sometimes, sola knew the other girl meant well... most of the time. and though the words she was saying were brash, sola felt as though the message was correct-- and one she needed to hear. “you’re right. i’m glad she’s doing what’s best for her and hope she can find some peace,” the leader agreed. “thank you, ryujin. it’s natural to have a bit of guilt, i think, but you’re right. it’s not productive.”

“it was such a cool stylistic choice,” sola agreed brightly. “hopefully you’ll get to revisit the concept someday! and who knows-- maybe in the meantime you’ll find another concept that suits  you just as well!”

“i think my favorite part of lalalilala is how much of a supervillain i got to look like,” mo said, chin resting on their hand. “now or never was fun, but if i got to look like an anime villain every comeback, i think i’d be living the dream. i wish i could just bring that era back.”

“Yeah… probably not. There’s like, way too many moving parts there now that I’m really thinking about it,” Noeul laughed.

“yeah...for a symphony group at least. i still think it would be neat to have sheet music for like....one of liberty’s groups though,” she insisted with a smile. “still a very cute concept.”

“yeah, you might have a point there, actually. i got a nice voice, but not when i’m short breath,” she laughed. “i hope i can sing more in the future, though. i’m way better at it.”

“i hope so too-- your voice is pretty! it would be a huge shame to never let you use it properly,” sola agreed.

rvdonny​:

he looked down at her, smiling back and holding her close. “of course i do! you’re my girlfriend– i love you, and i want them to meet you because i love them too, you know? we’ve been dating for like….almost a year now. why not?” he chuckled. “i’ll give you the grand tour, don’t worry. i take it that i should buy us tickets, then?”

“i love you too, donny. it’s just such a big step, i wasn’t sure where your head was at about it,” she admitted, snuggling into him. “yes! buy us tickets! i’ll talk to both my spotlight and kworks management and make sure they book time off for me. and you know.... maybe for christmas we could go to bangkok?”

rvinrada​:

“well…i would be different,” she insisted, though she was losing her resolve. “that doesn’t make me feel better, sola. are you trying to tell me that i’m not going to debut until i’ve been a trainee for eleven years? that’s so depressing!”

“no, that’s not what i’m saying. you’re much better than i was at your age,” sola assured her, shaking her head. “what i’m saying is that sometimes it takes a little time, but that doesn’t mean you’re any less talented or worthy. sometimes it’s just not the right spot for you yet.”

rvchase​:

“you got your first solo win faster than she did, so what does that say?” chae insisted, bumping sola with her elbow. “yeah, i thought that was smart too. i still have no idea why i was made the rapper, of all people but….. it seems to be working out, so what the hell do i know.”

“luck, and social media being more of a factor than ever?” sola answered, shaking her head. “you’re just good at everything-- embrace it! easier to talk sing while doing incredible dance work than full on belt, i guess?”

rvdonny​:

“yeah, ask. make sure,” he said with a nod, scrolling back up to the tickets for july and august, putting his arm around her shoulders when she sat back down. “i was wondering if you wanted to go to miami with andy and i when we go home for a visit this summer. probably august sometime, because legacy comes back start of july. i want to introduce you to my parents.”

she cuddled into him, though her head perked up when she heard what he had to say. “awe, really? you actually want your parents to meet me?” she asked, squeezing him around the middle with a huge smile. “i would love that. i’ve never been to the united states-- i can’t wait to see where you grew up!”

“Oh, what if they had like, something like the sheet music for the background so the people watching could read along? That’d be pretty cool if it worked.”

“super niche, but super cute-- i’d love to see something like that someday! i mean, for a band group i guess. symphony groups don’t seem to be a thing on the horizon,” she laughed

rvinrada​:

“that’s what everyone’s saying, but it’s stupid– i’m not even that young! shiloh was younger than i was when she debuted,” rin insisted with a frown. she appreciated sola, though. she was like a sweet older sister to rinrada. “that sounds impossible. i don’t think human beings can be up that long. you’re lying to me to try to make me feel less bad about being left behind.”

“rin, you know how long it took me to debut. am i not proof that the right time comes for all of us?” sola pointed out. “i think shiloh would be the first to say how bad that went. people don’t debut that young anymore for a reason.” she shook her head. “it’s a lot of long hours, rin. it’s worth it, but it’s hard work.”

rvchase​:

“says the new yein,” chae answered with an eyeroll, catching the smaller woman in a bear hug. “thanks sola– i’m super excited. it’s been so much better than i ever dreamed.”

“oh god, no. please. if anything i’m yein’s kid sister. trying my best, but a poor imitation,” sola laughed. “they did a great job making you guys sound very spotlight, but giving you a distinct voice. i think, anyway. and the two songs was smart-- it shows off different sides of you from the jump.”

“uhh, i have a vague idea,” she called back, locating where adonis kept the bags of popcorn. “we’re recording an album for the end of june for sure. but i think my manager mentioned something about my solo comeback being in the fall? i can ask.” she came back into the living area, sitting next to him, and looking at him expectantly (he hadn’t put his arm around her yet : ( ). “why?”

“hey babe, i had a question,” donny said, looking up from his phone where he was perusing flight tickets, calling to the kitchen where sola was getting a snack. “what’s your schedules look like this summer? do you know yet? like, with unity and your solo stuff…” @soladarv​
