Short English post to spread the word!

Did you know that there is a network of Irish speaking discord servers that is, while currently not as active as the average english speaking server, has well over 100 people in it's servers? The goal of this project (known as the "Gaelspás") is and has been to create an irish speaking space on discord, for irish speakers. If you have any irish at all, perhaps we might be worth checking out! Curious what servers we have? Well: Sciortaí agus stocaí - Server focused on fashion, LGBTQ topics, and more, with the server focusing more on the feminine side of things Amhráin na dTonnta - Ever wanted to talk about music in irish? This is the server for that! Éirenime - Anime discussions, but in Irish and Japanese! (Yes, the only bilingual server thats in Irish, but doesnt speak english!) Túr Ghaeil Ghlais - Conlanging, but in Irish! All these servers can be found in our linktree!

I finished watching Crá yesterday and now I need to try to persuade as much of tumblr as possible to watch it too.

It's an Irish-language murder mystery TV series set in Donegal, though it's subtitled in English, so you don't need Irish to follow it. It's not a cheerful series - Crá translates to torment - and nearly every single character is in some way corrupt, compromised or morally grey. But it's extremely well-produced, it's gripping, it has an utterly stunning soundtrack (by a Breton composer!) and it's visually gorgeous:

This is the first ever Irish-language TV show to get a primetime slot in Northern Ireland. And I would utterly love for the BBC to invest in more of this kind of thing (it's a BBC/TG4 coproduction). So if this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please help make it a success!

If you havnt heard, theres a GENERAL ELECTION due to occur THIS MONTH on the 29th, you must be regestered to vote prior to the 12th (as far as i know) in order to vote. As we have seen in the US, letting growing far right movements fester without pushback doesnt end up well for the people of that country, but also as we have seen in france and the UK, we dont need to act as if the right wing is unbeatable when it is. Due to this, and to get rid of this horrible government and shut the door in the faces of any government that might shift even further right, VOTE LEFT AND TRANSFER LEFT! And check the register! Also sharing this post would be useful too! Theres a guide below from the Locals and EU election, but still relevant now!

Ok, so I know this isn't the way that Tumblr works (being the website that actually has a culture of anonymity!!), but I'm just so proud of this show, I have to share here!! 🥳🙌💃✨

For my debut acting role ONSCREEN, I have been so lucky to play a part as crazy, as fun, as FERAL, as Briain Mac Pia- oh sorry! - "Braon Poitín" 😉 who tries to spread the "Good News" of the Créatar 🥃 to everyone he meets!! 😱😂

The entire filming process was so enjoyable, SO FUN 🤩 and it has been wonderful to ve part of such a special show💃🙌🥳 An actual Irish language comedy aimed at young people, but for everyone, which CELEBRATES not only the Gaeilge and actual Gaeltacht culture, but the culture of ✨ the craic ✨ as well 😌😇

Quick note, updates may be infrequent, as I don't wanna burn myself out. I wanna enjoy the process of actually making this thing as opposed to rushing through it to just get it out of the way.

Celeste Irish translation, Build #3

Here it is! The first build of the translation with in-game dialogue! This was super rewarding to do, it's so nice to be writing actual dialogue than trying to make Irish work in game menu UI (that was surprisingly difficult lol) This build includes the full translation of Prologue and Chapter 1 along with some small clean-up work around some of the UI and the translation of the two post-game postcards. I'm aiming to at least have Chapters 2 and 3 done by next Sunday, but Chapter 3 has got a lot to it, so no promises! (I will try my best though dw) You can get the new build here! A cairde!! Paper Owl has created the first Celtic-inspired Irish language anime called Lí Ban, and it's being released on Cúla4 (in Ireland)/S4C (in Wales, and in the Welsh language) on October 15th. There will be 13 episodes, each 11 minutes long. The main character, Lí Ban, is described as a fiery twelve year old girl who goes from being a rebel to a hero after mysteriously being turned into a mermaid and her dog Con was turned into a sea otter. I'll definitely be watching this series- I can't wait!!
