HE’S DRINKING IN SILENCE, the only peace he can obtain anymore. it’s lucky enough he’s been alone for as long as he has, as someone usually bothers him by then. as if a touch of magic from the devil himself, he’s interrupted. not by anyone he’d consider a nuisance, though, but by hayley marshall herself. she’s a mystery, but hardly one he’d turn away. in fact, he finds himself more curious every time she’s in his presence. his gaze shifts, for a moment, to admire the near perfect hand eye ordination. the hybrid grins and takes another sip of his drink. ❝ thank you, love, ❞ klaus lets his feet slip off the chair opposite of him, nodding for her to sit. ❝ if you’re going to address me as a king, it would be more fitting to bow. ❞
She takes the seat and smirks at him, “Oh I don’t know if we’re quite at bowing yet. You’ve barely done anything to deserve it.” she taunted him, crossing one leg over the other as she looks at the hybrid in front of her. Hayley wasn’t intimidated by him the way that others in town were, she didn’t see him as a threat to her safety despite all the stories that she’d been told since meeting him, about the infamous Niklaus Mikaelson. In fact, she just saw him as a pretty attractive (not that she would admit that to his face) man whose confidence was unmatched by any other man she’d met. The wolf laughs and takes a drink herself, surprised to find that their choices of liquor looked identical when she put her glass down next to his, “All the fancy bars and clubs in town and the great Klaus Mikaelson comes here... I’ll buy you a drink if you come up with an interesting enough reason why you picked this place.” she said, leaning closer to him with her eyes dancing with the challenge she’d set for him.

‘‘ that i am , ’’ rose commented with a small smile , her eyebrows flicking up on her forehead at the comment of being kind. keep your comment to yourself , she thought , knowing that if she indulged in the comment , she would only have failed this round of making new friends as well. thankfully , this woman was not human , making the conversation much easier to handle as the clock ticked forward. taking a sip of her own drink , she let it rest back on the coaster , ‘‘ suppose we are nicer than most , considering our competition on the matter. i’m rosalie. ’’
“As I understand it, your family was one of the first to come to Forks... I’m sure it feels different now that there are supernaturals everywhere... A pleasure to meet you Rosalie, I’m Sage,” she said, introducing herself and shrugging her shoulders as she finished off the drink that Rosalie had bought for her. “Competition... hm, yeah. I’ve met quite a few vampires competing for the role of ‘most vicious’ in my time.” she said, laughing at just the idea of some of the characters that she’d met over the years. “Tell me, does you family always stay around the Pacific Northwest? Or do you change it up every so often?”

IN THE MIDST OF PUTTING BOOKS back to where they belong , link couldn’t help but gaze a little too long at the long , bare legs before him . god , he loved summer . ❝ can i help you find something ? ❞ he towered over their height , placing one of the books along the shelf that was far too high for them to reach . ❝ we’ve got a great selection of adventure , romance , erotica . ❞ the last one slipping in all too consciously , eyes gleaming with mischief . ❝ pick your poison . ❞
Arabella looked hadn’t noticed the man staring at her but one look at him gave her the initial impression that she needed to handle him talking to her the way he was. Raising an eyebrow she laughed “No but it looks like I could help you find your way around... you’re in the mythology section. Nowhere near the romance or erotica” she said, hugging the book he’d just reached for her to her chest. “Do you work here or are you just exceptionally helpful?”

“i never said i considered us close for the entirety of those years.” she wasn’t even sure she could consider them close now. how close could you possible be to someone when you couldn’t feel anything? without her humanity she felt no true emotion towards her brother. “i was young when he left so perhaps that is why we were so close. it doesn’t matter though. i don’t actually care.”
“Oh... well that makes sense. I don’t have siblings so the relationship is odd to me, but if that’s what works for you, then by all means.” Hayley just shrugs, not wanting to aggravate the vampire, though she wasn’t as afraid of her as she probably should have been. “You can tell yourself that, but I think that even vampires who pretend to be heartless and void of humanity, still have the capacity to care about things that meant a lot to them. Look around, you’re in Forks... not exactly a lot to do around here if you’re not reconnecting.”

the blonde vampire had never been the nicest around town , more than half the population surrounding her usually hating her. prior to dying , rose would just use the hate to fuel her ego , stating to herself that they were just jealous. watching many not mourn her , it stung , made the vampire want to make at least a few friends outside of her family. it wasn’t easy , not when most of the population was human & the blood coursing through their veins was enough to make her fang poke at her lower lip , but yet here she sat , nursing her own drink & attempting to be nicer. people had come & gone , many of which were horrifying trials of trying the new nice personality , many of her remarks coming out bitchy & full of sass. this time around , she stuck to what she saw in movies. ‘‘ put whatever they want on me , my treat. ’’ she said with a small smile , hoping this time wouldn’t end with her breaking another glass out of frustration.
Sage turned when she heard the stranger’s kind offer, raising her glass to the blonde vampire beside her. “Thank you,” she said, sipping her glass of merlot, legs crossed under the table top. When she looked at the other woman more closely, she realized the reason she’d seemed so familiar was that she was one of the Cullens that Sage had not met yet. “You’re a Cullen,” she said, making a general observation out loud as she sipped the wine that Rosalie had paid for. “I guess the wine proves what I’ve heard about your family being kinder than most.”

“ we made this… ” Finn x Ara
Ara didn’t think it was possible, that she could have a child of her own.. but it was true and the proof was in her arms, squirming around in a soft purple blanket. “I can hardly believe it... she’s so perfect, how could she come from us?” she asked Finn, smiling at the baby’s tiny features - the perfect blend of them both. For someone who was usually guarded and defensive of absolutely everything that had the potential to hurt her or the people she loved, she couldn’t help but drop all those defenses as soon as her daughter was born. She was the exception to every rule and Ara was completely in love with her. The baby had tufts of brown hair on her head and Finn’s blue eyes, that Ara was convinced wouldn’t change as many infants’ did. “Do you want to hold her?”

val didn’t really know why she was telling this stranger about her life but she supposed it gave her something to do. forks could be incredibly boring at times and short of murdering people she was running out of entertainment. “we used to be close i suppose. that was four hundred years ago.”
She should have expected an answer like that coming from a vampire, but the actual amount of centuries that had passed when it came to her answer still came as a bit of a surprise to Hayley who could barely think of what her plan was extending to a couple of days beyond the present date. “Wow... long time to still be considered close, but I guess when you’ve got an unidentified amount of years to roam the earth, 400 years isn’t too long.” she found it difficult to wrap her head around the idea of having family and choosing not to be around them for such an extended amount of time, but that was probably just her projecting her own lack of family on to the situation.

Red eyes flickered from the woman to the chair, to the long fingers that held it and then back to her face. Sulpicia smiled, loosed a chuckled and sat herself back in the chair with a coy little grimace. “Oh no no-” Sulpicia shook her head, obviously used to getting what she wanted. “If you don’t sit with me i swear i shall make a scene.” she pouted, playfully if anything. “-sit with me Darling, i don’t bite unless asked.” A dark brow rose and the same wanton gaze flickered across the woman again. “-and i am awfully lonely, sitting here in this drab town.”
Sage immediately felt uncomfortable as she watched the other woman stare her down, but she wasn’t about to admit it - she wasn’t sure if it was self-preservation instincts or her pride overpowered her fear, but she was glad for whatever it was because she remained in the same position making no move to sit down. “I think that those who threaten to make scenes resort to toddler mentality that isn’t necessary unless your bark is worse than your bite... forgive the allusion to wolves,” she said raising an eyebrow at her. “Why don’t we start off with your name before we get into trading war stories of loneliness,” she said, curious as to which member of the Volturi she was speaking to, though she had her suspicions.

it seemed that the gladstone’s were always going through something NEW & HORRIFIC. this time , half of their loved ones disappeared. soon enough they’ll be going through something new that would test their patience. but for right now romilda just wanted to breathe , spend time with her son and her new girlfriend. she had a GUT FEELING that maybe it was something more & something deeper than just dating but it was still so new she wasn’t sure if she could call maya her ‘ mate ‘ despite having a gut feeling that she was. “ can never miss an opportunity to open up a glass of wine. right ? “ the corners of her mouth turn up into a smile as she looked at her younger sister. “ definitely… well deserved. it’s about time we opened something to celebrate. “
“See sometimes I doubt that we’re related, then you say things like that and I can totally see the sisterly lines drawn.” Ara joked, smirking as they clinked their wine glasses together while they stood and leaned on opposite sides of the kitchen island. “We’ve been through hell and back. Don’t even get me started on the emotions running high in this house over the past six months with Brayan making me re-think having the room opposite his with all the crying and angst.” she looked at her sister and raised an eyebrow when she got the distinct feeling that everyone coming back and them surviving the whole ordeal wasn’t the only thing she had in mind when she said celebrate. “Unless there was something else you wanted to celebrate.... and we can pretend and go back and forth on this if you want to but you and I both know that something’s up, and I can tell so... spill. What are you celebrating, Millie?”

“all we need to do is find a name for you, isn’t that right lil’ buddy?” a sandy colored puppy wrapped in a bow was being cradled in selene’s arms, licking at her chin and pawing at her shirt. it was easy to find the girl smiling wildly with her own version of a bundle of joy being babied. a present gifted from her father in respect to all that’s been happening… or at least that’s what the girl had assumed when she had awoken this morning to soft barking within the walls of her apartment. the pup didn’t come with a carefully written card or an explanation, so selene simply took it into her interpretation. “he’ll be the cutest roommate ever, whadda think?” with a turn of her head and honey in her voice, the brunette spoke to the person beside her with a grin. “got any name suggestions?”
Sage was from England and so she understood the appeal of dogs, but she’d always been of the belief that owning horses was far more superior. Still, she could see how fond this particular human was of the furry thing in her arms. “Oh he’s very cute... I would splurge for potty training lessons before naming him or her your official roommate though.” she added with a smile, folding her arms over her chest as she looked at the little puppy squirming around. “Uhm.... how about Sparta? He looks like a tough little bugger.”

Finn took issue with very little. In fact, he was often the most silent of all his siblings, and would act before much else. Even when something upset him, particularly like the men in the corner of the bar harassing the young waitress trying to get through her night. Something like this provoked him, he didn’t know why. Perhaps it was this stunning memory of Mikael standing over Rebekah, screaming like a bear woken from hibernation. But Finn waited until last call before he did anything. As the men caroused and bothered the girl once more, he made his way over, knocking the first out cold before slapping the other clear off the bench. “…. perhaps you’ll find your manners down there on the floor before the night is over.”
Arabella had just gone in for a drink, perched on the bar stool away from the apparent drama that had been going on in the other corner of the place, that was until her hearing picked up the sound of a fist colliding with human bone, followed by the familiar voice of Finn Mikaelson causing her to turn around and witness the whole thing happen. Apparently, it had frightened off the rest of the people who hurriedly retreated to the other side of the restaurant or left entirely, which left Ara as the only one still staring. Clapping her hands together slowly in a solo act of applause she leaned on the bar with one arm, remaining seated on the stool with her legs crossed. “Finn Mikaelson, ever the hero. You always were the poster boy for chivalry and the savior of damsels in distress.”

The girl had been a frequent presence at the Gladstone house when half of the town disappeared, and truth be told Ara was actually getting used to her. Which was something that couldn’t be said about many of the friends that her siblings had made and brought back home with them since they arrived in Forks. She knew how much Jemma’s friendship had helped Brayan, and for that alone she was inclined to like the girl.
“Jemma!” appearing behind her and basically sneaking up on their guest as she said her name, Ara found her ways to create her own fun when the rest of the house was quiet and frankly boring her. “Here again, I see. Careful, or I’ll start to think you enjoy all of our company. A feat that hasn’t been accomplished by another living soul since... probably the 1920s.”
