Failure Isn’t and Option
Xaria sat staring at the water as it passed the stars were bright and beautiful tonight and all she could think about was how upset she was about everything. This wasn’t fair why was it that she was never allowed to be happy, that the moment she was sudo happy. Something terrible happens, like she had some sort have bad omen about her. She shook her head then hissed.
“Stop it...Xaria this isn’t about the world screwing you over that's what an angry kid thinks. This is about needing to insight a change to flip the world off and say. Screw you and your bad cards and taking those cards shred them and then make them into something more than just cards.  It's about accepting that your life sucked up to this point but just because something bad happened you don’t just give up...” She laughed to herself what the heck was she doing talking to herself in the middle of the night.
“Your so crazy...” She laughed to herself but the laughter sounded slight bitter and she decided it would be best to stop talking to herself. She heard someone walk up beside her and looked behind her to see Hekomeht she blushed then said.
“How much of that did you hear...”
“I found it rather inspiring...” Teased Hekomeht he then sat down beside her and said.
“I also want to say something to you...” Xaria tensed what did he want to say?
“If we are unable to save me I want you to take Maguu and kill me...I don’t want to become one of those things...” He looked visibly sad to Xaria’s concern and she was upset at the suggestion but she understood why he would want that she would say the same thing if it had been her and if she did kill him it would be fast not painful.
“Ok, I will do that for you...” she said knowing it sounded grim and sad but also understanding the immense stress Hekomeht was experiencing.
“Thank you I just needed to hear you say that I am not giving up.” She smiled then said.
“That's good because I am only doing it if I fail and to be honest Failure isn’t an option...you and I are going to kick this in the ass.”
“How can you sound so certain?”
“Let's see, first of all I am Xaria I am force to be reckon with, I am stubborn as hell and to be fair anything in my way...it will fall. So let's focus on the fact that we will get through this and become stronger because of it and this will be a conversation we have with our kids when they complain about us being boring.” Said Xaria with a smile,
“I love you...” Said Hekomeht he then hugged her and she hugged him back then added.
“Course I may have to kill that demon that did this to you...just so I can laugh at him like he did to me when he infected you. Because i just want that bastard to know you don’t get in the way of my happily ever after ever!”
“That's if I don’t kill him first.” Suggested Hekomeht with a smile,
“Why not do it together make it sting even more! Then we can both laugh at him.”
“Agreed!” said Hekomeht, he then sat beside her and Xaria looked down. Hekomeht took her hand then said.
“At least there is a bright side...” Xaria was startled by the comment.
“What do you mean?”
“We are traveling lots of places for the stuff we need to save me...I get to see lots of places something I always wanted since I came to academy. Plus I get to be with you while I am doing it no watching from afar on my throne.I couldn’t ask for a better thing.  Even if we fail at least I got to spend a lot more time with you then I was when we were in the academy.” Xaria blushed then said.
“Well then let's do our best to enjoy ourselves would hate if the last time we had together was plagued with us worrying about if we would succeed or not and not about the time we had together.”
“Thats a good idea...” Said Hekomeht he then yawned then said.
“I am a little cold and tired sorry...”
“Yeah wish I could say the same..” Said Xaria,
“Well you are felonite you have fur I just have scales and clothes...”
“Fair.” Xaria smiled then  playfully wrapped her arms around him and said.
“Are you warmer now?” He blushed then said.
“I am...” Xaria smiled then laid her head on his shoulder and laid there for a moment just making sure she remembered tonight when things got darker and that this conversation would be the one thing that pushed her to succeed when all else seemed to fail.
“I am going to save you...” She said softly her voice deadly serious.
“I know...” Said Hekomeht, he then added. “One way or another you will save me.” She blushed then did her best to blink out a few stray tears without him noticing as she was ashamed that she was crying.

Mentor and Father
Xaria and Master Takido
Xaria sat down she was going  through some of the rougher work she had fear that she might not know it well enough to pass. Xaria wasn't  good at everything like Ryder  or her other friends  she spent a lot of time studying. Ashamed  that she was struggling more than she meant to.  However this was something she never would  have guessed she would  do.  She was doing well focusing  until she hit the magic  theory  part if her homework she was good at this so as she was reviewing she started to think  about her Master again she hadn't realized how much he meant to her tell recently when he seemed sad and they talked. Xaria always hated that he was the one person  she couldn't control but loved that he didn't  immediately take her back like the others.
Xaria was one of the few felinites that had water power they existed before, but she had mental powers rather than just water. Which as a kid that would be picked on she instead made them either regret teasing her or make them her ‘friends’. Which when the adults realized what she  could  do they wanted to stop her from controlling people. So their way was throw her at master after master and see how long she would last and when  they told them they couldn't  handle  her they threw her into a dark cage where contact was minimal and Xaria felt isolated. She recalled Ryder trying to still be her friend but he was the only one.
Then one day the sorter  that was more or less in charge of her commented.
“I  may have found  you a master he actually  asked about you. Apparently you really leave an impression. Any ways he will come visit you soon. Just so you know you blow this one and this cage here is permanent until you stop playing with people's mind or you are dead.” It was harsh but Xaria had done a lot of frustrating things and she realized that this time she didn't  plan on coming back. Even if he didn't keep her. She agreed to behave feeling like some glorified pet to this sorter and awaited her new master. When she first met the Ugway she did what she always did with the intent to convince him, he wanted her so she could actually get somewhere besides the spell shores.  However the Ugway did something no one else could  he gave her intense feedback to the point that she had to grab  her head.
“That's not necessary...Xaria.” his voice had a tone she wasn't  use to and she quickly realized  that this guy was way better at what she did then her.
Xaria also remembered the first time she really screwed  up they were in a city and Master Takido had gone to do something and she was bored and decided to follow him. As she did she managed to get into a bar with some mind control and was watching her master play cards with some men. His slave was suppose to watch her but she had learned how to escape him recently. She watched the Ugway pretty much give these men a run for their money. However, she saw one of the drunken men reach for a weapon. Not wanting to see anything bad happen  to Master Takido as he was very much her freedom. She took over the guy's mind and caused him to drop his weapon. She never considered that Takido knew exactly what he was doing. She saw him glance at the dropped weapon then he glanced around the room Xaria narrowly avoid his gaze and ran into another guy who took her actions as rude and started to question her age she then tried to convince him of her age and failed as she was getting a little scared when  she read that he liked little girls  like her. Scared she backed off and lost control of the other man that accused her of controlling  his mind  and the other guy  tried to grab her. Xaria dodged barely but ran into someone  else whom held her tightly she freaked at first until she realized it was Takido whom said in her head.
“I  appreciate your enthusiasm Xaria, but when I  say stay home,  I mean stay home.” she then heard him say .
“Now boys she's just a girl leave her alone wouldn't  want you to get hurt.”
“How could  she hurt us she's just a girl...” laughed the one that wanted to take Xaria  away.
“I  didn't  say she would  do anything.” Hissed Takido he then quickly made the men lose their steam and got her and him out. Xaria however knew how this was going  to go. He would lecture her and then when she thought he was ok and he wouldn't  take her back he would anyways.
Xaria  got the lecture she anticipated and she took it like any 12 year old would and then was about to go to bed but he commented.
“Xaria...I  am not mad at you for your aspirations I am mad you got caught...I  know you are better at things then that. What happened?”
Xaria had to process the question then she said.
“I  got scared I saw what he wanted to do to me and I  panicked.”
“What did he want to do to you?” Asked Takido sounding a bit concerned to Xaria’s confusion.
“Lets just say he really likes little girls...” Said Xaria she looked down then said.
“Why are you mad that I got caught, aren’t you mad I did that in the first place?”
“Not Really, I mean I knew you were strong and I was more or less curious how long you would just do what you were told. Granted I do want you to listen to me but I want to know that you think for yourself too as when push comes to shove it's you that will get you out of trouble. Not me, I am just  the guy that helps you to focus that chaos of your power to become effective enough for your future.”
“So you are not going to take me back?” Asked Xaria timidly making Takido actually look sad at her question.
“Do you want to go back?”
“No, but I screwed up and when I screw up people take me back saying they can’t...” She fell silent at the sudden hug he gave her no one ever did that to her.
“I accepted you as my responsibility I won’t just take you back because you messed up to be fair you have to make mistakes to learn.” Xaria nodded then did her best to keep her composure as she didn’t have to run away to not go back to the spell shores.
Xaria always viewed him as a teacher as someone that wanted to teach her but it took recent events, that made her realize that in reality he was very much what a father would be. She loved him he always kept her even after all her mistakes, he gave her a chance to travel to not be caged and now he was helping her forge her future. She blushed as she caught tears in her eyes she was grateful something Xaria never quite realized tell recently.
“Damn it Xaria you're so emotional what is with you lately...” she murmured trying to calm down as she thought about their conversation about how Hekomeht wasn’t who master Takido anticipated she would be with, but he was happy for her.   She also thought about his comment about  how he knew all about his life before he lived it and he still chose to take her in. Well aware of how much trouble she might cause him. Also the comment about being touched by god's thing he mentioned when she left the other day. As that made a lot of sense having to be touched by something so powerful,  to believe in something powerful.  She intended on sharing that with the others  after she got done studying. As she was trying to refocus she heard a familiar voice say.
“So I got word you might be struggling a bit...” She jumped at the sound of Ryder's voice he didn’t often approach her alone not that they weren’t good friends, just he had a lot of things he was busy with.
“Ryder  Hi.” Commented Xaria trying to  hide her tears  she didn’t want to be asked if everything was ok as it clearly wasn’t.
“So was  Hekomeht lying to me or are you actually struggling?” Asked Ryder, Xaria blushed then said.
“About some subjects I am yes, but you are busy and I am getting it Hekomeht is helping me too just some subjects,  he isn’t as versed at either. Plus, it's my brain that doesn’t want to remember things.”  she knew Ryder was super good at this school thing and he was probably on top of a lot of the class, she also knew he didn’t get there by luck. She looked down then messed with the ring on her figure subconsciously. Ryder glanced down then said.
“Wait...are you engaged to someone?”  Xaria blushed she couldn’t tell if he was happy or shocked  or a bit of both.
“Does it matter...I know it's weird to you...” Said Xaria looking down.
“Well I would like to know who it is so I can make sure they take care of you.” Said Ryder sounding oddly protective of her. Not in the ‘I want her type of way,  but in the she’s my friend, she's been through stuff and you better not make stuff worse way.’
“Its Hekomeht...” Ryder looked startled then said.
“Wait seriously... I noticed you guy were really close just didn’t know how close...” Xaria looked down then said.
“Don’t tell anyone yet ok its still like underwraps at the dance we plan on showing everyone...”
“Do you know about Chameloids and stuff I mean do you trust him?” Xaria was a bit pissed off that Ryder of all people was being racist.
“I do trust him alot...he's not like others and besides since when did you judge remember we were friends when everyone else thought I was evil.” Snapped Xaria,
“Well yeah but I don’t know Hekomeht like I knew you.” Argued Ryder, Xaria looked down then said.
“I am sorry,  just trust me he’s trustworthy. He makes me feel really special and I am excited about him being my future husband. I know you don’t want that... but I do I am tired of being the one that always ends up alone.”  Ryder looked visibly saddened by her words  and he sat down on the edge of her bed then he took her hand.
“I just want him to be as real as you claim he is if he hurts you. I might have to show him why he doesn’t hurt my friends.” Xaria blushed then said.
“Whatever Ryder...you have so many friends and girls hanging all over you is not like you really care.”
“Really, who came when Hekomeht said you and your friends needed illusions and seriously who took you out for dinner after his master made him act like a prisoner to figure out if you and your group was going to pass a test. Seriously, I admit to be worried about you and your whole trying to find the assassin thing too. I came with Hekomeht for you and the others because I was worried.”  Xaria read that she might have made him slightly mad and that made her feel bad.
“I am sorry...still getting use to the idea  that I have friends.”
“You are so silly...seriously though if he ever hurts you he will pay.” Said Ryder Xaria blushed she never heard him  sound so serious before.
“He won’t at least not by choice...” Said Xaria she then looked down and Ryder added.
“So let's go over the subjects you are having  trouble with I told Hekomeht I would grab you any ways, he was wondering why you were by yourself when you were clearly worried about your work.”
“Why didn’t he grab me?” Asked Xaria,
“He had things he wanted to finish first  and I was going to the building any ways...”
“Why?” She asked playfully,
“Why do you think...” Xaria laughed then said.
“I hope you don’t get caught...”  Ryder smiled then said.
“I have Illusions...they help.”  Xaria shook her head then said.
“Let's stop there...”
“Yeah...let's before we both learn more about one another then we intended.” Laughed Ryder, Xaria blushed then followed him with her papers and books in her backpack.

Aryuu
Xaria sat playing  with her ring in her bed it was the time after study and right before dinner. Aryuu was resting on her chest and she was doing the best she could  to process things. “So I may have accidentally pissed off an assassin. I  am engaged to the furture ruler of the Obsidian Fortress and my mentor knew he was going to adopt  me. Before  I  even existed and am changing  at a rapid pace.” remarked  Xaria she had let someone get really close to her and now in typical Xaria  style she was terrorfied what if someone  took him  from her. What if all those  things she had seen were warning  her how bad idea this was. She turned over to her side and felt  sick with worry. “Why do you do that to your self  Xaria get so happy then  start  to worry.” she curled up with her pillow and just laid their thinking. “Aryuu why me what is it about me that made you choose me. I  am trouble with a capital  T and I  am not even sure what I am truely capable  of doesn't  that scare you...” she  muttered then added. “It scares me what if that dream is my fate no matter what I  do. What if I am just met to fall.” she held the small stone close to her chest and curled up in a ball and faded to sleep.    Xaria woke up at the shores of a beautiful  blue lake surrounded by iridescent stones all a different shade of gray they seemed to glow with their own  lights reflecting  off the water in rainbows. She had to stop and stare for a moment the beauty it was unimaginable  so pure so pristine. Xaria took a seat and played with the water slightly, then tensed as she felt a presence it was powerful, but some how not angry or threatening. She looked around and saw nothing. Then  was joined by someone. “You really love water don't you.” Xaria nodded then looked up to see a lizard like  creature  with blueish scales and bright eyes the color if the sea. “Yeah I  do a lot so which  god are you and what do I  have to avoid now?” muttered Xaria the creature  laughed then  said. “I  love how you assume I want some thing  of you or want to guide you. Maybe I  was just lonely and thought  we had a connection. Loneliness is pretty  common for you  isn't  it Xaria? Isn't  that why you went after an assassin alone rather then with friends or why despite the fact that people consider  you a friend you hold them at arms length or why you finally let someone in to see the inner you and they actually liked you and now you are afraid they  aren't  real. You are also afraid they will take him from you.” remarked the  stranger  as he sat down beside Xaria. “Why do you know all that?” asked Xaria suspicious the stranger playfully splashed her then  said. “Xaria you are many things but stupid isn't  one of them. I  am the person you just talked to before you fell asleep. You think after that I  wouldn't  interact. You are silly! Believe it or not you have me because you need me.” Xaria stared at him she wasn't  sure  what to say. “Aryuu?” he nodded then  said. “lets go into the water together I have an even better place in mind.” “But I  can't  breathe  under water...” “I  am certain you know that dreams  don't  folllow normal laws just trust me ok.” Xaria nodded then took his hand he pulled her close and dove into the water she held her breath  as she felt the sensation of cold water on her fur and felt like she went  under the water. She closed her eyes and held on to Aryuu whom smiled and said. “Why are you scared?” “Just nightmares often began as normal dreams.” “Well what about this dream is normal.” said Aryuu ,Xaria  blushed then said. “Good point.” Aryuu then took her into a entrance of a cave as they surface she saw the same stones.  With the water and  every thing she saw rainbows dancing  all around  the cave she climbed out and Aryuu joined her finding her reaction quite adorable. “You look like you are in shock.” “Just so beautiful does this exist somewhere on our  planet.”Aryuu shrugged then  said. “I don't  know but thats not the point look with in the stone.”confused Xaria walked up to the stones at first she saw nothing and was startled  as they almost felt like ice crystals, rather then stone. Aryuu then touched the stones and Xaria saw herself in the past and other things that she had never seen but not clear  at all. “All those things are your paths your future your present all coexist  all options so yeah things look grim right now but you have, Hekomeht, Master Takido, your other friends and of course me and I  don't  think  you are destined to be a monster, I think you are destined  to be what you need to be to survive.” she smiled  then  said. “Right now you are just an egg how do you know this?” “I  am an immortal being Xaria I  exist when  you need me too.” “So are you going  to look  like this?” “I  am unsure I honestly  just took this form, because as much as I  wanted to make you smile. You wouldn't  appreciate me looking like Hekomeht or Ryder so I  made my own form.” He said  Xaria smiled then said. “Guessing  you will be alot smaller.” she said moving her hands a certain lenght. “Well yeah once I am hatched I am not leaving your side...I  mean you been really  accommodating  to me putting me in water and  stuff and  I  actually like your companionship. Plus I  don't  think you like being alone.”  Xaria  didn’t say one way or the other but Aryuu smiled then said. “You  better get to back for dinner. You might worry your fiance right.”  Xaria blushed  then said. “Yeah your right.” she then  woke up on her side in the room the stone  was glowing funny but then it faded. “Hey lazy cat time to go eat...”  teased Xarias room mate. “sorry I  am a wake...” she said then sat up her room mate commented. “You  know it was weird to see you actually  asleep in your bed...” “Yeah I  have had some crazy days.” Informed Xaria  rubbing her head.
